Perfuma: Typical POP girlyness, and will most likely have the now standard cross-eyed feature.

Buzz Saw Hordak: Looks just like regular Hordak, doesn't have the right loin piece. This was a missed opportunity to make a BLAH figure into something special. Already a fail.

Dragstor: Colors are off, lack of independent torso with spinning wheel was expected but unacceptable.

Laser Power He-Man: Looks great! The sword has the now standard warped plastic feature, but hey... this is Mattel we're talking about.

Laser Light Skeletor: Looks like the vintage figure, but... is that a good thing? Nah... could have benefited from a reuse of NA Skeletors awesome skull head. And what the hell is with these big ass hoods lately. Eldor was a fail because of the hood, now this one.

Terror Claws Skeletor: No effort went into making this a cool figure, just gigantic hands. Older head with no paint apps? *pfft*

Flying Fists He-Man: One of the biggest fails of 2015. No vac metal, and still using the old He-Man head??? Lame.

Dare: Biggest slap in the face since the Unnamed One. Mostly parts reuse and it's part of the Son of Neitlich line. Waste of slot, waste of money.

Talon Fighter looks good, Gonna have to get used to the glass in the windows but... Very nice so far.

Point Dread seems stupid to me. What's with the archway on the top piece and why is there just a little tiny computer console inside, when it should be more like a computer center. I think PD was a missed opportunity for something with more playability.

Wow, Mattel usually doesn't reveal them until their panel.

However, that seems to be a lot of figures for only 6 month's left in their subscription.

Of course I do, I love MOTUC. But I'm not a mindless drone that will pretend the line doesn't have any faults. I don't walk around singing "everything is awesome" like the typical zombie collector. Sorry if I rained on your parade.

Well with a couple exceptions, this is all stuff they had already talked about and shown. I am waiting for the panel tomorrow to see what surprises they have and what their plans are for next year. I have heard the rumors of a rebrand, Not called MOTU Classics, and some possible reissues with slight changes like a new Teela.

I am just glad the Classics are ending , but the end of this year is gonna be expensive to finish them out.

I think it was a case of "Most people already pretty much know what the remaining figures are, just not what order they're getting them in, so may as well show them."


You can be a "free thinker" and still have an objectively positive view of the line as a whole, and most of the figures in it. The problem is most self-professed "free thinkers" go so far in the opposite direction with rampant negativity that they basically become just as "Zombiefied" as the other side, only with a negative bent instead of a positive one. It's a phenomenon that's seemed even more prevalent with this line than most.

Ultimately I've been quite happy with about 90 percent of the figures they've produced. Maybe I have a higher tolerance level then most, but reversed shoulders (for example) don't bother me too much when most casual observers wouldn't even notice the difference. Likewise, delays and slow shipping and wonky websites and the like tend not to bother me if in the long run I still get a figure I enjoy.

There have been a few disappointments, but IMO very few real stinkers (not to be confused with Stinkors) in the line. Even characters that may be ridiculed or unpopular because of their concept or design (Here's lookin' at you, Mighty Spector) are still cool action figures (and in many cases were optional/not part of the main sub).

Has every figure been perfect? No. Have they done absolutely everything right? Not even close. But in the grand scheme of things, it's been a hell of a line (in a good way) and many of the headaches had more to do with the outlet selling it than the toys themselves.

tl;dr - It's all about the toys themselves for me. And this line has given me a lot of very cool toys.

That Filmation style Skeletor is one of the best looking action figures I've ever seen. The colors are so vibrant. I love it. Hopefully the final product will retain that look.

He-Man and Battle Cat are pretty clearly recycled Warcraft pieces, but the result looks great.
As soon as Mattel acquired Mega Bloks, I said that this is precisely what I wanted. I didn't think it actually had a chance of happening!

The Filmation figs really do look great. Not my thing (a little too cartoony), but I can't argue that they aren't pretty cool despite that.

The Mega Bloks are awesome but Mattel would find a way to make them not work.

The "Black and Red" He-man is Anti He-man, from the German audioplays. He's essentially the mirror universe He-man, as evil as regular He-man is good.

I have to admit, that while the FILMation style isn't my thing, that cartoon style Skeletor looks really, really good.

I have to disagree. The line as a whole is robust, but it is riddled with problems. Not one figure in the line is perfect... and for the money spent on these toys, damn near perfect is what they should be. Other toy companies achieve such perfection, so it's not impossible.

Yeah, some free thinkers only dwell on the negative and are natural fault finders in everything. However, I will speak for myself and say that I will give credit where credit is due. If the toys appear to be well done, I will be the first to admit it. If I'm wrong about something, I will eat my hat. It's not like certain fans are 100% negative which many people seem to think. But Mattel in particular has an 8 year track record of giving us cost reduced products in the form of MOTUC. It's a fact. You may be able to ignore the issues and pretend they aren't there, but many of us refuse to trick our own minds. Self brainwashing is not something I support.

Mattel in general overcharges for inferior products, that's a given. The man behind MOTUC for the past 8 years compounded the problems by being a lying scumbag and treating the customers like piles of dog crap... that didn't help much either.

Ultimately, some people are going to love everything and have no complaints while shouting, "Take my money please!", while some are going to be very vocal about the toy company and their issues.

The one thing that never seems to change are the people complaining about the complainers. Ironically, one never sees complainers complain about the overly positive, self diluted fans. Amazing. It's always the apologists who attack those who call out the truth.

In the end, most of us complain because all we want is better quality in the toys we love. When they continue to make low quality products and cut costs, by default we have a right to complain about it and expose it for what it really is.

By all means, tell us which companies (plural) achieve perfection at an equal (or close enough) pricepoint to MotUC. Of course, also bear in mind that MotUC is only a few dollars more than the average 6" figure on mass-retail shelves now (which average from $19.99 - $21.99), for a considerably lower-volume product (which means by basic economics, is going to cost more per unit due to smaller production runs).

I said ultimately the issues don't matter to me, and unlike you I don't delude myself into thinking that there's a bunch of companies producing "perfect" product at an equal or greater value (dollars spent versus what you get) than MotUC in a similar scale/pricepoint. By all means, explain in detail how MotUC is "low quality" versus similarly-priced products in either the mass-retail or online-exclusive areas. What EXACTLY do you feel is somehow drastically lacking from the MotUC line in comparison to other ~6" collector-oriented action figures out there?

Because until you can provide an example of a line that is producing figures that by no objective measure whatsoever can be described as anything other than "perfect" every single time they produce an action figure, you're blowing smoke.

Do your own research and find out which toy lines are better instead of dissecting my comments and demanding proof, etc. There's plenty of them who aren't out to screw over their customers AND pride themselves into producing quality items. Price may be higher but price is never an issue with die hard toy collectors.
