For everyone who has ever complained about NECA needing the Halloween license back, well there you go. Mezco just answered big time...and hit it right out of the park.

I mean... I guess? The stitching looks terrible, why do the shirt pockets look so bad? The head sculpt and accessories are the only saving grace about this figure. Hard pass from me.

While I love the original Halloween (really, anything John Carpenter did in the 70's/80's is pure gold), I've always considered Michael Myers himself to be more of a B-tier villain. In NECA made a decent Myers figure I'd consider it, but this one for $80? Nope. I could easily see NECA making one of their retro figures that looks just as good for $25.

It's fine you consider him a B villain but he's as A as they come to me.
Halloween 1978 basically started slasher movies. It grossed over 70 million dollars, more than Friday the 13th, more than Nightmare On Elm Street. Before Jason, before Freddy, you had Michael Myers. Some of the highest grossing slasher movies ever. Starring in 9 movies with a new one coming out next year, no way he's a b-villain character, he's right next to Freddy and Jason in popularity easily. That all being said, this figure is fantastic and I'm getting it. Already bought the 12 inch ThreeZero version and I have the original Neca Halloween 1 figure, so this is a must.

Just watched Halloween for the first time... Was not too impressed to be honest. Also, how exactly does Michael Myers stab the glasses guy in the gut with a knife and hang him from the wall, when there couldn't possibly have been more than an inch of the blade embedded in the wall?

Halloween created an outline for the way directors make a slasher movie. Witbout Halloween, slasher movies would be nothing more than crap B rate movies. Back to the figure, yeah it sucks that it’s expensive and it’s not in scale with NECA figures. However, this is all we have seen made since the NECA ones, which is around 10 years. So you can either buy a custom 12” for around $500-1000, a Threezero version for over $100, or this one for under $100. At least with this one all you have to put down is $20. So you have around 8 monhs to save up the rest, Happy Halloween! |

That's hardly the only thing I took away from the film, just a very odd observation and, in my opinion, a perfectly legitimate question. Personally I think The Thing is Carpenter's true masterpiece, and I'm as entitled to my opinion as you are to yours, but I didn't care for Halloween, and I think I've got a pretty decent understanding of what makes a good movie.

It bothers me that Mezco haven't shown a single image of their Myers with his collar up! They need to sort that out, for sure.
