My first payment finally went through for the upcoming Sideshow Jason from Part 3. Super excited for it, since I managed to nab the exclusive and it looks to have had some improvements from the original sculpt. |

Seriously though, guys. Does anyone know what happened to the Classic Punisher I posted a picture of earlier in the thread? They have yet to solicit it, and it's been a whiiiile since it was first shown. Was it canceled?

I completely agree on your points about Wolverine. Don't like that it looks like he's wearing short brown shorts and the shoulder pads just look bad to me. They were okay on Daredevil, but I don't like them here. I've heard the explanation about why they might've chosen to go with shorts, but if that's really the case, then they need to figure something else out unless they intend on putting tons of superheroes in shorts who don't belong in shorts. It just looks silly, in my opinion.

I think for mixed media figures 12 inches and up, Sideshow has the exclusive rights to Friday the 13th at the moment. I could be wrong though.
My first payment finally went through for the upcoming Sideshow Jason from Part 3. Super excited for it, since I managed to nab the exclusive and it looks to have had some improvements from the original sculpt. With Sideshow, I hope they use the license well and release more updated 12" Jason versions. Something tells me they might just do one Jason, Freddy and Leatherface. Just seeing how good the new Part 3 looks, I'd take some updates to the other old figures and the Part 8 and Roy they never got to. Also, cool to hear they're starting to collect payments on the pre-orders...I'll be on the lookout for mine to go through! Speaking of Leatherface, he'd make an awesome One:12 figure too. |

Mezco is just taking all my money with these damn One:12 figures, but there are a few kinks to work out with a majority of these figures.
The Netflix Daredevil looks amazing, and I honestly hope this isn't their only dip into the MCU pool. They would be crazy not to do a Jon Bernthal Punisher and can honestly get away with doing variants (Blood Stained white Jumpsuit Prison Riot, Military Jacket rooftop fight, hospital assassination, and of course the final in costume version). But that's just wishful thinking. I hope to god they also have plans for Luke Cage, Elektra, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist. Also, wtf happened to the classic white boot/glove punisher?! I need that baby asap. The Wolverine is a bit off. Mainly because they gave him the biker shorts look as opposed to the actual pro-wrestler style trunks. I hope they also do an unmasked logan head as opposed to what looked like two masked heads. Here's hoping for a blue and yellow variant. That Batman is amazing! On one hand I was pissed because I thought it was going to be a straight up classic first appearance Batman with the purple gloves, but this is a perfect amalgam of classic first appearance and a modern take on the dark knight. Plus, a damn Bruce Wayne head! Iron Man and Dr. Strange look amazing, and I love that they put designs on Strange's tights as opposed to just having blank black cloth. It really adds to the figure. The Dawn of the Dead figures are cool. I hope we can get a non-zombified Flyboy, maybe a hare krishna zombie too. Ash looks pretty cool. Just dirty up the shirt a bit and it's perfect. The face even fits definition wise as Bruce had sleeker feature's back then. But it does look a bit like Christian Bale in the face. So here's to a more detailed final product. I also never knew I needed a Popeye figure until now lol. |

At least with Harley Quinn, the actual sculpt of the face itself is actually fantastic, as seen when looking at the digital sculpt (there's a pic of it posted in the thread for the solicit photos for that figure). But the problem comes with the paint, and the fact that the faces for their figures often seem to be oddly translucent in the promo pics, plus the weird lighting in those pictures, which obscures a lot of the details, and the likeness is somewhat loss. I think some of that is at play here with a lot of the faces shown here at the pre-show - at least the paint and the lighting.
Usually, company show their best product in the preview prototype stage, with it being expertly painted by hand, and when the final mass-produced product is out, it is usually a little less impressive. If it looks this bad now, there's not a lot of promise for the final product. Once again, I'm only referring to the figures that are supposed to be real people. The rest of their lines are just fine to excellent. I'm just saying their sculpts of real people is no where close, and that is double bad considering they have excellent digital sculpts and still manage to mess that up. |

I've been getting a "meh" feeling from almost all preview/promo pics, but ended up blown away by the actual figures. Not saying Harley, Wonder Woman or any upcoming "human face" character will end up perfect, but coming from Mezco, I'll wait until I see the actual product before I make any judgment! |

Daredevil, Wolverine, Doctor Strange all jumped to the top of my list. Everyone I see Darkseid I shiver with how much that thing will cost but I can't wait to finally get it. Least I've got a year to save. Anyone else think Strange looks awkwardly skinny? I like the costume just doesn't look like the body fills it out enough. That cape is gonna be fun to pose, kinda hope they don't make it wired though.

Did they cancel it, or is it gonna be a con exclusive, or what? Because we haven't heard anything about it for a while, and that's the one version of their Punisher I wanted. Same. But I have a suspicion that they canceled it. Given the recent releases, it seems like they've gradually phased out the alternative costumes with the exception of a few big releases. All the parts except the gloves are in the Deluxe Punisher just in different colors. I'm split between getting the Deluxe or just passing all together and hoping. |

A digital sculpt that looks good only under certain angle and lighting is still a terrible sculpt.

I don't think Mezco is at all slowing down variants. |

Take a look at Mezco's One:12 Collective Star Trek figures. They can do good real human likenesses.
Eh, I wouldn't be so sure. Captain America has the Classic and Commander Rogers variants, Daredevil has the Shadowland and First Appearance variants, Frankenstein has the colorized variant, Green Arrow will have the Arsenal variant, Flash will have the Reverse Flash variant, Superman will havd the Red Son variant, Space Ghost will have the glow-in-the-dark variant, Spock has the "The Cage" and "Mirror, Mirror" variants, Kirk has at least the "The Trouble with Tribbles" variant, Red Skull will have the Classic green jumpsuit variant, they've already confirmed that Wolverine and Iron Man will have multiple variants... I don't think Mezco is at all slowing down variants. |

Classic Punisher is coming! Confirmed by Mezco.
He is put on hold for now because the first punisher just came out & the "Deluxe" is coming soon and they didn't want to get the three variants out too close from each other... Check this interview, lots of great info! PS: keep asking about Knightmare Batman, they were surprised so many people were disappointed by the cancellation so who knows! |

Awesome. Still, wish we had a little of an idea what the accessories might be; if they're any different from the basic Modern version. Lot of guns in the Deluxe version.

Ugh. The Classic as a MezShop exclusive would kill me. That shipping is rough.
I'm kicking myself for not asking about the Hanna Barbara line. I would kill for some Herculoid figures. |

One:12 Collective's Popeye's has that 'real world' look, he's not based on the B&W Max Fleischer cartoons from the 1930's like the 5 inch and 12 inch Popeye figs Mezco released back in 2001 were. Still, it's a cool looking figure. I'll probably pick him up depending on what accessories he comes with.

That Batman is really nice, the Wolverine looks fantastic as well... If already preordered Deatshtroke, so if another variant of him doesnt come out(Is he scheduled for one?)I may have to get the Batman to face the two off against each other.
