@Greenskar
No pose off? Well, I took some preliminary pics before we move to another thread. I was able to surprise even myself with some of the poses I could get the Hulkbuster to assume. Given time, I'm certain I can tease out a reasonable variety of poses from this large/bulky fig design. Mind you, I picked an unlikely antagonist for my thematic battle with the Hulkbuster. I've never actually seen a Hulkbuster succeed in its intended task of busting a Hulk. Fighting? Yes. Busting? No. So, I picked a substitute jade hero: Savage Dragon. It seemed appropriate, because his smaller stature allows the Hulkbuster to be seen while grappling. Until I see otherwise, I still maintain that the Hulkbuster holds its own against most large figs whether they came out then (2005) or now....That said, everyone one is entitled to whatever "remakes" they'd like...if you've lost interest in our pose off (lol)...I understand. I thought it'd be more fun than arguing ad nauseam over subjective opinions that are not (in all likelihood) going to change. Additionally, I obviously like taking pics and will create any excuse to do so. It helps me improve at the process and, like you, I think the efficacy of taking pics to illustrate a point is undeniable...depending on the picture that is... I absolutely agree with you in respect to using pictures in a pose off rather than argue subjective opinions and welcome such a level headed and creative approach to the topic. This is all in fun and afterall we are all fans and collectors who savor any opportunities to show appreciation for the figures our hard earned cash has brought us. I hope you do not mind that I took the liberty of placing your pics into my photobucket account for the sole purpose of making it quicker for other collectors and lurkers to peruse these pics. I have no intention of using them anywhere other than this thread, however if you wish me to remove them I will at your request. That said, let's have some fun!! Magnificent!!! That was awesome! I give you credit for the pose off, most would be too afraid to break their Thasher! Let me digest this...

For the most part, the ML hulkbuster is great, however comparing his height to the Thrasher aromor, he falls shorts. Both are great figures but the thrasher armor is more sturdy and has more weight to him. Less floppy to where he can freely hold up the Marvel Select Juggernaut which is not a light figure. He can also stand on one leg easily as shown in the pic with him doing a back kick to the hulk.

Symbiote and I were quite active on here during the peak of MU and have a huge collection showcase called "our ever growing marvel universe". Life caught up with us and our careers have grown more demanding of our time these days though we have managed to continue to support the local San Diego collectors community by organizing toy shows in collaboration with local comic book shops and most recently a radio station during a children's hospital toy fundraising event. I have since taken a leave of absence from the group to tend to family and personal matters however I will ask symbiote to provide info if any are interested in what Toystars Collectibles has to offer. Best regards, Greenskar

@Symbiote
I don't factor height into this because the scales are askew. The ML Hulkbuster need only be in scale with other ML Hulk figures not figs from other lines. I am very line/scale specific (sorry). I can see from these pictures here (a little better than those others ) that Thasher is very sturdy. However, so is Hulkbuster. I sold my select jugs, but I 'm confident I could pull off that body slam pose and I will approximate something similar... So you both know, I never said ML Hulkbuster was better. I said it's aging well and still holds up.....even in spite of these new great pics you've provided! I'm definitely developing an appreciation for the Thrasher fig.! |

Lol awesome pics fellas. This was fun to do and it's all in good fun. I still like the ML Hulkbuster and it has survived the times. The hulkbuster is one of the most elustrious armors that tony stark made and toybiz pulled it off well.
I am also a suckered for new figures as well. The innovation of what they can pull off with the new articulation wants me to get a new hulkbuster. But it's just wishful thinking. Plus the hype with it showing up in age of ultron movie has me more excited that it might be redone. |

You are right, this was fun! I'm still laughing! The double bird was priceless! edit: I'm very confident that there will be a New Hulkbuster to compliment the movie. Be careful what you wish for though. If you want something on the level of Thrasher Armor Bats, hope for a Select sculpt over a Legends....Although, if a Legends ver. is made, I'll likely buy it. On another note, I noticed that the Hulkbuster sculpt striped bare could easily be tooled into a Nimrod. I'm not a custom maker.... Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 12-30-2014 at 10:35 PM..
