I really hope that other company was serious about making MK figures, because Jazfailures' offerings are rubbish.
15 points of articulation for Shao Kahn and Goro? And that's supposed to be impressive? I can find more points of articulation on toy biz figures from the '90s. The paint apps, articulation, and quality of these figures leave much to be desired. |

Depends on if the figure is 3 3/4" or 6." Further, it depends on if these are really meant to be played-with action figures or if they're just supposed to be "look pretty on display" figures like much of Sideshow and NECAs stuff.
15 points of articulation for a 3 3/4" figure is halfway decent. On a 6 inch figure? Not so much. Though Toy Biz is really a false comparison, because NOBODY was articulating their figures like Toy Biz back in the day. In other words you can't hold Toy Biz up as an "industry standard" when nobody else in the industry was following it. Anyway, Jazwares has to fix their QC before they can worry about adding more joints. |

You'd REALLY think Goro would have more articulation than the average MK figure...

I have seen the toys in stores and they are some of the cheapest looking toys in the isle.
If the paint apps are decent on a figure than the sculpt is horrible. If both are good the figure is actually broken in the package. How is it that not one company can do good Mortal Kombat figures? |

Are people really still interested in MK? I mean I feel like we haven't had a good version of the game in awhile, so why come out with new figures?

It also won fighting game of the year, beating out Marvel vs Capcom 3/Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom3, King of Fighters, etc. in the VGA's/Gametrailers/GoldenJoystick/etc. It was generally considered the best fighter in every gaming outlet.

Anyone else notice the "DO NOT PHOTOGRAPH" sign in front of the Klassic ninja multi-pack?
And yeah, the 2011 game was fantastic. They are even releasing a game of the year edition with all of the DLC on disc. I would love to have good, quality MK action figures, but these aren't quite cutting it. Last edited by Greylight; 02-12-2012 at 03:11 PM.. |

On top of all the praise for the game, it's also a really deep property that IMO hasn't ever reached its full potential.

Now if Syco made a line of poorly articulated, but fantastically sculpted 8in figures for $15 to $24, I'd buy a few of those (Raiden, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion from the reboot would be a must buy. Reptile - depends on costume and pose... loved the costume in Shaolin Monks). I'd go as high as $30 for an amazing Shao Kahn, Goro, or Liu Kang's Dragon form. I'd even suffer a Mattel-type subscription service if it meant getting good quality. |

All I have are the 6" & 4" Sub-Zero figs (2011 versions) (with eyes painted white), which makes only 2 figs I own and will ever get from this line. I really would like to pick up a Sonya Blade, but Jazwares' amazing face sculpting work does not make me the least bit hopeful for a decent looking figure of her. If somehow she turns out OK, my only other requirement is either having a removable dog tag or no dog tags at all - just an odd preference I have.
In the meantime, I'll be patiently waiting for Syco's attempt. |

I hope Jazwares gets better. That's about all I have left to say about that.
Absolut Truth.
