What do you guys think that most popular action figure scale is?

IE. 3.75" or 1/18
or 12" or 1/6

or any other action figure scale...

For me personally, it's 6"

IMO 3.75" because I love MU but also because I think there are alot of GI Joe Collectors & Star Wars Collectors and the fact that there are still largely carried by retail would have one conclude that that scale is most popular. Of course there is also the possibility that its because oil costs and the economy is not at its best that this is the most profitable scale for toy companies at the moment at thats why this scale floods the market. Then again there are alot of 6" collectors out there and thats why NECA and DCUC exists...hmmm idk they all are popular i guess

IMO, the main advantage that 3.75" scale has is vehicles and playsets. 6" figures are just too damn big to have true to size playsets produced. But as far as the figures themselves, 6" is king in my book.

I grew up in the 70's /80's im a 3.75 guy.
My brother grew up in the 60's. hes all about the 12 inch.,

tlasjr nailed it on the head...I think it changes by era.
I love 3.75" because I had Joes as a kid. However, the bigger the figures, comparing contemporary lines, the better the detail (for the most part).....hence my new Hot Toys addicition.

^ looks pretty good. I think I would change 80's and 90's to 5 inch though. GI Joe was obviously huge in the 80's, but think about MOTU, TMNT, etc.

If anyone knows me here they know I am a 6" collector.
EDIT: One of the advantages of the 1/12 collectors is that you get figures that are 7" to 12" tall sometimes more.

i would have to say 3.75" is super popular now. probably more than ever. most new collectors are 3.75" fans as well.

personally, i love both 3.75 and 6". i grew up in the 80s with GI Joe 1/18. 2007 came around and the Joe 25th line changed everything. i stumbled across the line on eBay while looking for an 84 Storm Shadow "just because."

that opened a can of worms... to which i enjoy to this day. (the toys, not the worms.)

recently, as some may have noticed, i have gone full fledged into Marvel Legends. i got hooked pretty quick once i got my first few. they are tremendous.

Who has 1/4 scale toys?

4 inch toyline not only allows for vehicles and playsets, but also army building and more manageable dioramas. Then there's the character selection factor, which I feel tends to lean more towards the 4 inch than the six for most toy lines not based on DC properties.

I love the detail and pose-ability of 6 inch figures, but they are more cost/space prohibitive for me at this point.

Once I finish up my want list for the MU, I may go back to 6". It's killing me my hulk can't smack around superman. If they start making decent 3.75 DC I won't bother (which the GL two pack hints that might be in the works )

I used to have a few of the large 18'' movie maniacs. I would love to get my hands on some certain ones like Michael Myers and Hellboy etc. A few friends of mine collect nothing but 12''-18'' and larger scale items.

I think 6'' is my favorite scale for figures, 3.75'' best for playsets and collecting as price and availablity is there. 12'' is best for display if you have the $$ and space aka Hot Toys.
