In package pictures of Clawful are now available from MattyCollector. I'll be picking this figure up as part of my MOTUC collection.

Sooooo can't get over the "short bus" head w/ bushy brows. Looks like a freakin' Muppet! Seriously, Matty... you want $20+ shipping for this? It was a joke 30 years ago, it's a joke now...

Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't try to go a little more realistic with that head. He actually reminds me of Lew Zealand.

So his real name is *click* *click* *clack* *click* *clack* *clack*?

....or is that his brother?

I think he looks pretty good. These aren't the 200x line. For me, Classics really shouldn't be too far off of the original line.

i agree. sure his 200x head sculpt would be a great pack-in, but i would still want his vintage style version to boot. matty is a cheap bastard though...

Yeah, the alt head would be awesome. The figs that come with the alt heads like TJ and Whiplash are two of my favorites. And of course the mighty Merman :lol

I would love an alternate head too, but this is the Classic line. And all of the figures look more like their original toys than anything else. So it's only natural that they try to stick to that aesthetic with every figure.

so they can give multiple heads to Merman (huge improvement), Bo, and Trapjaw (for no reason, honestly)... but not improve the head of clawful for people who like the character but don't think he should be on a shortbus? Seriously, it's as if Matty WANTS to make me lose interest in this line. So far, NOTHING released this year has attracted me in the least, aside from Catra.

No love for Panthor?

The alt heads are a great touch, although I kind of didn't understand the 200x heads since that's not what Classics are.

The Merman alt head isn't from 200x though, it's what the original was supposed to be. It was used for the 200x series, but it's an original design.

mad love for panthor. i wanted him flocked but now i'm not so sure. the paint apps are so rich it almost appears velvety.

i agree with your "second head rationale". it makes sense for figures like man-at-arms and merman. maybe matty could include more original art heads. but i doubt it.

Panthor upsets me just from the fact he doesn't look like a Pather. He looks like a purple Siberian tiger. I know, I know, a new mold isn't possible. I'll probably pick it up on ebay later (even with the goofy helmet). My above post about not liking 2011's offerings is more for the new characters, not the repaints (I consider Panthor just a repaint). ManEFaces will make or break my love of the series. He looks good so far, but prototype figures and the real deal are two different things.

As for Merman, true, his oogle-eyes are the original animation face, and not the 20xx series, but with Whiplash, Man-at-Arms, etc, they made the faces better than 20xx series or original. Why should Clawful get the muppet treatment? Sure he's a stupid concept (giant talking crab!!) but hey, that's the fun part of MOTU... only series more stupid in concepts was TMNT.

I like the "muppet" head due to nostalgia, but another updated pack-in head would certainly add to it. I don't think he will look quite right next to the rest of the MOTUC figures.
PS - I love me some wacky TMNT figures.

As much as I love the extra head pack ins, im kinda glad they didnt do it with Clawful. He would just look out of place. The 200x design was too different to make things right by just switching a head.

i agree. and if you look closely at the eyebrows they look more scaly than bushy. they could easily be painted to look less comic.

Yeah, they get a little out of hand with their MOTUC prices. He's available on eBay and Amazon for $30-$35 shipped, but I'm in no rush so I might even wait for the reissue.
