Okay Arkers- hre's where we lay our cards on the table- lets see what parts and tweaks we have discovered to make custom MU figs- mainly of guys they'll never ever make.
I've got alot, so I'll post them in spurts, starting with ones on my workbench right now- I'm making mostly villians, as they're under-represented in the MU line. GRIM REAPER: Thunderball head, Falcon body, custom scythe and "ears" from a metal nail and sheet styrene (cheap "For Sale" sign used). SPEED DEMON: Repanted Yellowkacket with the "wings" removed and goggles enhanced. BLACK BOLT: Red Guardian head (fin cut off) Steve Rogers buck, styrene wings, florist's wire bent to shape for antenna. SMASHER (Shiar Imperial Guard): Wonderman head and body, goggles added and repainted, styrene for belt, boots and glove's square details. BBETLE: Head and arms from Spidey line Scorpion and remainder of body from Captain Marvel buck- wing shells from measurung spoon cut in galf, wings from cut up tupperware container MOON KNIGHT: Zartan hood, Black Panther head (ears sanded down), Steve Rogers buck, Gauntlets from (shirtless) ROC Storm Shadow, cape, staff and belt from MU MK. Okay- lets see some of your recipies! |

AOA Weapon X: Patch body, painted blue with red details. Take off left hand and use sculpting clay and get as creative as you want with his stump of a hand. More so if you are good with sculpting, add extra crazy hair
FF Doctor Doom: PAINT THAT SUCKER WHITE! Paint belt black and belt buckle and cape buckle thing silver. Black Panther: Paint DD body black and add Black Panther head from either target 2 pack or single pack. Paint finger tips gold and give him a gold pattern on his wrist. Take cape from Gladiator and paiint black for a ML Black Panther look. Black Panther: Most Dangerous Man Alive: Take a Desert Strike Snake Eyes [2nd version] and use his body for a base. Either make your own head out of the Snake Eyes head or use one from either the Target 2 pack or single pack Black Panther. A lot of creative freedom here because he uses tons of weapons and sometimes wheres a different chest harness. Ares: From the God of War miniseries, use a Gladiator head with a shaved down Mohawk and paint the skin. Use a Crossbones body for all of it but replace arms with bare arms [possibly from a built Gi Joe figure] Super-Skrull: Use Gladiator body as the base, add Skrull Soldier head and with sculpting skills, add thin/small shoulder pads to make it comic accurate. From here you can do whatever you want. This is good for a buff, pissed off Super Skrull in a neutral pose.

^^^ I might make a Super Skrull with your recipe. BBTS has Gladiator for like 5 bucks.

I second your Beetle recipe, although I was going to use these parts from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Ravage as the wing pack:
Might be a tad big, but it kind of meshes the various Beetle armors, and has some nice techy details. |

Dude, I found that transformer all busted up at a Goodwill outlet. I found and reassembled everything but the front legs. I was planning on doing something similar with the wing pods.

I used a Comic Whiplash for the body, replaced the lower arms with GI Joe PoC Recondo, helmet from SW Argyus - but used mohawk from Gladiator to replace the top of the Argyus helmet. Hands were from a MU figure. Trimmed down the armor from Whiplash. I agree on the Gladiator head, though. This saves the step of having to replace the upper arms.

dunno when they'll redo the older females but i plan on redoing most of mine with the x-23 body. took the bands, belt, and hair off one and stripped the face of paint. might use phoenix hair on the x23 head for black widow. looks ok. also tried out ms marvel's hair on it. needed some dremel work but also looks possible. i figure paint will make them all look different when put in the main display.
so basically, x23 bodies and base heads turned into the older female character with their respective hairs, accessories, and paint along with the hands which are kinda swappable between both bodies. |
