I don't know if anyone has ever asked this question, but here I go.
Im a MOC collector, so everything stays in package. Now I have just got my hands on the X-Force Archangel and the mail away figure of nick fury. Unlike Archangel, I have not seen any unboxing videos of Nick Fury. So my question is: The white mailer box that nick fury is in, does it have another sealed box on the inside? or inside the white box is it just a sort of half box with the SHEILD logo on it and the red plastic that holds Nick. or is it a full box that has the sheild logo on it and you have to open that to get nick out. The reason Im asking is I like to display my figure inpackage on my walls (if you have see my collection forum you would know lol), and well Archangel I knew you could open the mailer box to have still a figure sealed in a package to put on display. I know Nikc isn't packaged in same way, I just like to know if I open the mailer, is the next level sealed as well? Alot of rambling for one question sorry.. When I start writing, sometimes I just can't stop even tho I my point was across and I end up just repeating over and over and over the same thing.... Im shutting up now... |

I do have the nick fury mail away figure. Mine also came in the white mailer box. When I opened it I found the nick fury figure and accessories on the red plastic base. There is no other plastic covering nick fury. He is exposed once you open the white box. He is not loose in the sense that he will fall away from the red plastic. He is wedged in there pretty good so for me there was no fear of falling off and damage. But again, he is not covered in any more plastic once the white box is opened.

COOL TOY REVIEW: Marvel Universe Photo Archive - Nick Fury
Is this what you are looking for? It looks like the red tray has the black cardboard sleeve that is open on both ends so the tray can slide out of it with no problem. |

Once the White mailer is open, the figure is basicly open not sealed anymore. unlike Archangel, once the white mailer is open, then figure is still sealed. damn... that means Im going to have a white box on my shelf with only the small title saying Nick Fury on it... how boring.. lol Thanks for letting me know |

As JustryGT said, once you open the white box there is another black box inside with the Shield logo on it. Inside that box is the red tray. The black box does cover Fury so you can't put it on display with Fury showing unless you take the red tray out of the black box.

Lame. If you're not gonna be able to see the figure, what's even the point of keeping it other than having it? ... they should have made it with a window so you can look at it!
That said, someone with a loose one should make a cast of the head. Imagine Nick Fury's comic head on the new MU body. |

Lame as it might be, but I think I would rather put a Black Box on display with the Sheild logo and the Nick Fury picture on the side then a plan old white box... I do wish that there was a window on the box so you could see him at least... but thats what happens when I collect MOC... some figures are not boxed right... oh well... Thanks for everyones help on answering my question!! |

I saved the box. Felt it was worth it because I could put him back in it. He's no fun unless you take him out of the box. I liked the special mail away treatment they gave to this fig. I'd be more upset with how they packaged Abgle just like every other fig and charged you $60 for it. Other than paint there is nothing special about it or the packaging. At least with Fury they will never package him like that or give you the Gun and hopefully not the jetpack with the retail version of him.

They didn't charge $60 for Archangel... you get him for free with $5 shipping as a freebie to go with a year of comics. If you look at it like that, you get an amazing deal.

The worst part about Nick Fury is that it's not a great figure. The head sculpt looks like he's suffering from Bell's Palsey (sp?), and I haven't been able to make a custom cigar that looks right for him. Other than some cool accessories, he's the same base figure as the Shield Soldier/Winter Soldier figure. It's just the fact that he's so hard to get ahold of that drives folks crazy.
Honestly, if you don't have him, you're not missing much. Go grab an extra shield figure, paint an eyepatch on a random head and you'd have just as good of a display piece as the official version. He's definitely a figure who needs redone soon. |

Wouldnt think a thread would be needed like this and a simple google search would have found your answer, oh well.
Nick Fury is decent at best. Luckily I got him in a lot really cheap but hes no where near worth the price he is going for. Ive got a custom cigar in his mouth which makes him a little cooler.

Yes, but not all toy collectors collect comics nor read them so the deal in your wording only appeals to true comic/toy collectors who want to have a digital subscription to comics and also get a premium toy out of it. All in all it's not a bad system, just pisses me off I never got me a nick fury.

I was simply mimicking how irrelevant your post was to the topic.

Nicks cigar was going to be made but apparently marvel didnt want a cigar as an accessory for their figures because of the image it would portray plus some people were for the cigar sculpted as opposed to not sculpted on the face. Long story short, instead they opted for the weird mouth so you can customize a cigar and both parties are happy...somewhat. lol

I never understood what the big deal was with this fig, but next to Kitty Pride, this Nick Fury fig is one ugly mofo. His face looks like he's got a lazy jaw or rather suffered from a stroke. Sure, Nick Fury is cool, I want a Nick Fury MU scale fig, but I don't know, this sculpt is so bad and dated, this character screams an easy custom.
