With the MU line going strong, more and more characters are emerging. Would people like to see Hasbro do team specific waves or related characters beyond just the team packs that we have now? I.e. an all Jim Lee style wave of figures or a wave comprised of Spiderman villains. Toybiz came close to this when they did some of their waves of ML. Or do people think by having a variation of characters and themes that the individual waves will be more likely to sell?

I'd prefer they just finished the teams they already started!
X-Force and Guardians of The Galaxy in particular! |

I like the idea of themes but not sure if it would go over well in general.

They have to keep a variety going.. releasing a specific themed wave would probably fail as some people would say ..WTF..I don't want The Great Lakes Avengers...pass!

Or if Hasbro were to do more team packs, I'd like to see characters that haven't already been done. We had an X-Force Wolverine and Warpath, why not give us Fantomex and Psylocke with Deadpool?

The themed waves are a good idea, but, mixed in with the variety that the waves have now.

I could see that. Maybe a wave of 6 could have 3 and 3 or 2,2,2. At least have some type of grouping.

for hasbro i reckon like toybiz they wont do many packs of like teams , 1. hasbro will not make enough money due to that lets say for example it costs $5 to make 1 figure and they sell for $8 but if they made a 4 pack of 5 pack for about $20 -$ 30 for a package then they will make less money than they could with single mu's so expect them but not so much ML just did i think 3-4 thats what i can remember

I don't mean team packs like we have now but single carded figures from the same team. I.e. X-Men figure wave

Agreed this would have been a real hot commodity if they didn't have Wolverine and Warpath already and did what you mentioned instead. They made minimates out of X-Force Psylocke why not an MU version!!!

selectively focused waves might be a bad idea. What we have now for each wave of having characters from different cross-sections of the MU get more variety.

Themes with variety would be nice even if it's just a small linking like a random teamup or handled like the Kevin Bacon game or even just other similiarities to their individual teams.
Like X-Force v3 Wolfsbane relates to Secret Avengers Valkyrie (Asgard and spec ops), connects to Sin (fear itself hammers, plus excuse for pre-skull variant) connects to FI Hammer Wielding Juggernaut, which connects to modern Juggernaut Colossus. Pretty much you can connect entire figure waves like this thanks to Marvel story telling. Like Modern Venom, X-23(unmasked), and female ghost rider, which also connects to Big time spider-man/scarlet spider which also connects to classic clone saga era Kaine thanks to the venom symbiote connection. You can go on and on connecting the waves this way if you really tried. Could probably do it to the current ones too. They can also do other themes that cover a wide variety, like say an all asgard theme that covers New mutants Dani(has a side job for hela), asgard's Hela(with pip the troll) or female loki, valkyrie, modern Thunderstrike, classic thunderstrike, FI hammer wielders, Thor Buster ironman, new Mutants Warlock(helped save hela) or Cypher(Helped save hela), a Douglock variant, X-Force v3 Wolfsbane(has an asgardian bf/baby daddy), X-Force v3 Elixir(brought out of his coma by hela), Multiple man no mask in trenchcoat with eye M(did a case for Hela on finding pip the troll), etc. This covers an area of marvel, and also covers a diverse selection of figures for teams and mainstays are covered too(spidey and ironman). |

I'd love to see teams done in box sets like the way f4,guardians of the galaxy and xforce were done, but I'd love to see a sinisters 6 box set, xforce add ons such as fantomex, domino, psylocke etc. Jim lee box set would be awesome. same with an avengers set.

Yeah, sets with figures that haven't been made yet. I don't need repaints.

I've thought about Wave Assortments. On one hand it works, on another it dosent.
Personally, I like to think it should do this every Wave is 6 figures 1 = Version of one of the top Well Known Characters. You know we are getting a Spidey or a Wolvie 1 = Version of a secondary character or second well known 3 = Brand new characters 1 = Obscure character Makes it a kind of Balance. Wave 1 of 2011 is brilliant in this 1 = version of well known character = Bleeding Edge Ironman 1 = version of secondary character or another well known character = World War Hulk 3 = Brand New Characters = Spiderwoman, Doc Samson, Spiderman 2099 1 = Obscure character = Captain Marvel. I list him in here cause technically by todays standards, he's more obscure since theres no comic of him at all and he's been dead since the 80s. This way we get those retail pleasing characters, but mostly we get brand new characters who havent seen MU before

I would like the idea, but I think Hasbro's doing a decent job with the teams as it is. Give them time, they'll eventually get to everyone one way or the other. I just don't see them devoting an entire wave to one specific team. I could maybe see a themed wave that contains a diverse character selection (sort of like what Snow said). Otherwise, 3-packs are about as close as we're probably going to get.
As for a no-repaint wave, they didn't even do that in wave one, and that was the best opportunity for that to happen. I do wish that the 3-packs wouldn't retread figures that were already done in the single packs (and vice versa). For example, I would be fine if they reissued Deadpool in a single pack as long as he wasn't in the X-Force outfit (unless he's silver/black to match Warpath, Wolverine and X-23).

I agree about the paint apps. I don't see why Hasbro changed the silver/grey color for the X-Force figures in the team pack from what it had been with the single figures.

I'd looove to see a "Masters of Evil" wave- with a Goliath/Moonstone Gigantic Battles set rounding off the team!
Baron Zemo is sorely missing from my MU collection! |
