Quick Staff Edit - Joe
I happen to think they are doing an awesome job at the turtles line. I have the 7" figs from Gamestop. But I think I might jump into the 12" line. Last edited by Joe Moore; 05-07-2019 at 10:15 AM.. |

Beware, these guys are 18" tall, with the Turtles closer to 16" tall. If you have the space, then you definitely should jump in.

Ah good to know. Thanks for the info! I might not then actually. I currently have the Ikea Detolfs setup going on, and I believe the max I can get in there is like 14", unless I remove shelves but I need all 4 levels of shelf space lol.

That turned sour fast. That was 100% my bad. Should have just deleted and moved on.

Why did you remove my post? Maybe I'm missing something. Are we not allowed to share our opinion? I'm just saying, there's absolutely nothing valuable about modern NECA figures, and just NECA in general.
They overdid it with the It line. (The clothed figure looks terrible) They're trying to step up to monsterarts with their Godzilla figures, which is good but their 2019 Godzilla can't even look up by the looks of it and they call it a completely new mold! (Looks like the 2014 version they made, with the exception of a new tail, spikes, and paint apps.) If anything you guys are probably gonna pick this Shredder up, let it sit for awhile after you played around with the joints, then that's when the regret will set in, lastly you decide to sell it on eBay. |

I agree with John Paul about deleting comments is wrong. Nothing wrong with criticism. I've had my comments deleted and all that does is drive a person like me away and contribute less....less clicks....less eyes.
I worry about sites becoming like gaming websites where only having the right opinions are tolerated. Now, i disagree With Paul's assessment of Neca....you know not what you are talking about. Opinions can be flat out wrong also. Those Neca1/4 are very valuable....for a simple reason....they are too big to go through the hassle to bootleg. Shredder is the boss. Good luck buying and reselling on eBay....your loss is a collector's gain. Godzilla is fine. Neca isn't competing with sfh...they are selling a well made lower end product. I'm all in on the Neca1/4 scales. I am slowly abandoning the smaller figures for1/6 and 1/4 scales. That just draw the eyes and make better display pieces. |

Ha, same here. Those 1/4 figures just command so much presence in a room and are surprisingly fun to mess around with and pose-except for the hulk, who I just got and has a lot of problems...still looks great tho. Anyway, thankfully for my wallet, Neca's 1/4 offerings isn't too expansive.

Comparing a $20-$40 toy company to any other $70+ toy company is kind of silly. Obviously NECA does what they can to release solid products and keep their prices down. I respect them for what they can do, and imo there detailing and the price they charge for it is insane compared to other companies. |

That said, you're on crack, dude. NECA has been consistently KILLING it lately. Their output has increased and shown greater variety since dropping off after the TRU closure, their sculpting/articulation/paintwork remains first-rate, and their QC actually seems to have improved (but could always be better). Clearly you have some kind of weird personal vendetta against the company, as any sane person can see quality when then look at it. I'm not planning on buying it, but Shredder looks awesome. You are correct there is nothing wrong with criticism. Not sure if you saw the original post by johnpaul, but it was nothing more than spam, which apparently if you look at most of his other posts, is what he does. If you are gonna not like something, that is obviously perfectly ok, but you kind of have to explain or give a reason as to why you feel that way. johnpauls comment below yours now does that, but originally he just wrote "neca is trash", which is great but WHY do you feel that way? Otherwise you are just spamming.

I think Joe deserves credit for keeping the peace here...he actually responded to John Paul's post at first and only deleted it after several other people (including me, sorry!) chimed in and derailed the thread. Some of their 1/4 Predators have been bootlegged but yeah not much going on with counterfeit quarter scale action figures for whatever reason. Figure model kits in the same scale however, get bootlegged all the time, so I don't know.

I know there's a thriving Transformers bootleg scene as well.

100% correct, good sir.
Again, 100% correct. It's as blatantly silly as saying "Hey, this NECA figure isn't as good as the Hot Toys version, NECA sucks!" The fact is that NECA does indeed come pretty close, and at a much lower price point. But he didn't express an opinion. He popped in with an insult and nothing else. And if you look at his post history here, it's comprised of about 90% of the same crap. Spammers like him drive people away from sites too, ya know. I think Joe deserves credit for keeping the peace here...he actually responded to John Paul's post at first and only deleted it after several other people (including me, sorry!) chimed in and derailed the thread. Hmm. Good point. Never thought of that. If he spammed, then it should be deleted. I only saw the second post he made here and his explanation. My comment still stands about banning speech because it goes against a narrative. We are allowed to dislike things as long as you explain yourself. Without discourse, there is no middle ground. Those NECA 1/4 scale are fantastic. I understand space issues for many. When I have people over, whatever city I live in, I enjoy seeing my larger pieces on display. The smaller pieces get lost, but the larger ones just stand out and are so wonderful to look at every morning. The 1/4 Shredder will be my crown jewel of my entire collection. It has the size, the sculpt and eye catching helmet to honestly, impress non-action figure collecting folks, just as much as those who do collect. |

Discourse and disagreement is awesome, I am 100% with you on that. Spamming is not. |

This shredder looks amazing! I can’t wait for them to scale it down to 7”. I would LOVE to have 12” tall and 18” tall action figures everywhere, but I live in a tiny house, and the action figures I have get their own tiny room and there is barely room for them at 1:12 scale! I recently ordered the 14” tall 1:6 scale Venom bootleg and that will be the centerpiece of my non-transformers display... even that may ultimately prove too big and get rehomed.

I wonder how soon we'll see the inevitible 7" versions of Shredder and the Foot Soldier. I hope NECA will surprise us again with a SDCC box set this summer with shredder and 2 Foot (Feet?) Solders.

Yeah you're right, I admit that was a little too blunt, I didn't follow through, so my bad.

I hope so, too, but I really hope they do a Tatsu figure. I loved him in the movies! As a kid I wanted them to import him into the cartoons and mutate him with a bulldog. He just had an intensity and loyalty that was great to see in a henchman. 😁

Never thought I would buy 1/4 scale again, but this TMNT 1990 line is outstanding! I’m a diehard TMNT fan, so this will be a centerpiece for my collection. Like most, I await the 7” scale version, but this is a character I want in both scales. Can’t believe it took nearly 30 years to get a 1990 Shredder figure. Crazy!
