Crazy how so many of these were re-released in the last year considering Covid and all. I haven't seen them in Target in a while now, so I guess their last production runs have run out before losing the license. I think I've bought: 1984, 1954 Poster, KK vs. Godzilla, Mothra vs. Godzilla, Biollante, Biollante excl., All Out Attack, Tokyo SOS, and SOS excl. I can't remember if I bought the atomic breath All Out Attack or not, they're all still boxed up lol.

Still have about four of each of these at my Target. At least, I think that's what those giant piles of dust are.

I didn't get the b&w '54 or the Space Godzilla since I had both of them already and didn't love them as much. I like the SH Monsterarts '54 a lot better, and have not been a fan of that 90's mold they use a lot.

I did re-buy the 1984 Godzilla though since they made some mold improvements and it's one of my top Godzilla movies.

I still wonder why we've never gotten proper figures of the Grady twins. Seems like a bit of a no brainer along with a Jack Torrance figure.

No likeness rights are included with the movie license. So anyone doing collector level figures would need to negotiate with each actor. Nicholson is apparently crazy expensive, which is why there were so few 89 Joker figures with his likeness.

Absolutely not wishing death on anyone, least of all for a toy, but I wonder if when he passes his family/ estate will grant use of his license for cheaper, since he obviously won't be making anymore movies

I think I'll pick the twins up! Also does the bloody ash not come with the shotgun?

You'd think so but it can still be tricky I'm sure. Look at the Jaws Brody figure, actually getting up for preorder and then cancelled. I can only imagine it was a licensing issue with Scheider's estate.

Dealing with an estate, rather than a living person, can actually be much harder. Once they're gone, prices usually increase because that cost now needs to be spread to the owners of the estate (rarely one person for celebrities), the legal teams and/or whoever is negotiating on their behalf.

I can't believe NECA lost the Godzilla license.
The figures had gotten so close to MonsterArts quality at about 20% of the price.
The packaging had gotten to better than any MonsterArts box ever.

I highly doubt that.
That would be 93 boxes of just Godzilla stock on the shelves.

I don't know that they've officially lost the license as much as Toho is restricting merchandise to the stuff that NECA doesn't cover (kid toys and the new movie push). Either way it sucks that NECA can't march on with more Godzilla stuff because a number of their recent releases in the line were fantastic.

I'm happy to see Neca back off the license. More room for TMNT and maybe other closely related franchises that could supplement TMNT styles. They must be desperate to clear up space to meet deadlines better with all the TMNT stuff.

The best part is, the division making "large monsters" is now free to make large monsters of a different kind. There are so many great ones out there.

Also, I want the Toony classic and terror accessories to go with my Neca TMNT cartoon figures. The creep lantern especially. Hmmm....14.99 for a lantern....

I love the colors on that armored assassin. I never liked the gray so I never picked it up. I anticipated NECA utilizing that mold again like they are known to do. The new colors look MUCH better.

Glad they have some new ultimates of older figures listed. I'll gladly buy up any Predators based off pre-Disney buyout sources. Going forward, with the whole Disney movie and Marvel comic nightmare, I won't be getting any new figures from the franchise. At least not any that are based on those two dumpster fires.

Your doing the right thing and it takes some courage to take a stand. There will be new and cooler franchises hopefully, but sometimes you wonder. The Simpson Treehouse of horror was really crappy this year and that's usually one of the best and funniest Simpsons episodes.I wanna see the TMNT checklist.

MAN I will miss their Godzilla series. Imagine, if it had kept going, even branched out to other monsters, what it could have been!

I said I'd never re-buy all of them, just because they were updated and in fancy boxes...and they got me to do exactly that!

Man I'd be perfectly happy to never see that dumbass Hulk-Predator again.

As for the Disney/Marvel stuff outside of a Wolverine vs Predator one-off or something I'm good with the Dark Horse comics. I still need read the big crossover stories with Prometheus from a few years ago.

I think I’m a bit burned out on Predator (and Alien for now). While the Ultimate Predator’s are all really solid figures, and usually look great, there’s a sameness to many of the movie themed ones that’s kind of stale (nature of the franchise). Same body styles, slightly different armor, reused hands, same smart discs, same combi sticks, masked and unmasked portraits, maybe 2 new accessories. The more wild Kenner ones are bit of fresh air, but they seem to be slowing on those.

So i'm guessing the 4th Fugitive Predator variant got scrapped. It was shown along side the Deluxe Armored Assassin. It was a blue and black repaint of the ultimate.

Glad we're getting revised versions of the P2 predators. Hopefully NECA retains the license a while longer. Before they lose it i would like an Ultimate Wolf and Ultimate Super Predators and possibly a Camo Cloaked Tracker Predator. Would also be cool if they did the old man Dutch from Predator Hunting Grounds. Finish it off with those six and i will be more than happy. But yeah Disney is aweful and the Disnefied versions are going to be lame.

Yeah after Lasershot last year they've done all of the original Kenner line (ignoring many repaints) so now they'd have to turn their attention to some of the unreleased stuff, doing some of the repaints themselves, or doing original designs in the Kenner spirit.

Since the Predators just bumped up to $35 a figure I'm certainly trying to cut back on how many I pick up. I was really looking forward to battle-damaged City Hunter but not for $35. A new Wolf or Berserker would still get my money but thinking about the upcoming rest of the Lost Tribe I'm going to be real picky.
