The price was definitely a surprise to me. I was thinking maybe $200 MSRP with places like EE and BBTS dropping it to $180.
I need to find a way to get this still, as doing a photo shoot with it is going to be insanely fun. Just not sure if I'll be able to swing the price, especially in December. May have to be later.

$350 retail is a bit much. It would be tremendous to have but I can't talk much, I bought the LOTR Balrog when it came out from NECA but it was half the cost and it had articulation and lights and sounds. THat Balrog was in scale to the Toy Biz LOTR figures and was 2 feet tall and had a 3 foot tip to tip wingspan. I had it out on display for a couple years but now it is in storage. |

Not much better. But hey, maybe you'll luck out and NECA will send you one for review purposes. I wouldn't expect it with something that pricey, however.

But it looks like EE is where I'll be grabbing it. Setting up at a toy show in November, so hopefully some funds from that can go towards this. Sell toys to buy toys.

I don't expect them to, no. If Randy wants to, awesome. But I'd expect them to provide something this expensive to somewhere like Nerdist, that has a huge audience.

Isn't the facehugger foam prop they just put up like 60 bucks? Looks like the same amount of material.

Very cool. For $100 I would buy it even if I got no place to put it! $200+ and it's just one of those cool things I can do without...

After seeing a few people's in-hand pics, I really do want this. My b-day is in less than 2 weeks. Maybe I can convince someone to buy it for me. Hehe.

Hehe. There are a couple FYE's near me that will likely be carrying this (if they don't have it already). Anyone in the family that asks for ideas, will just tell them FYE gift cards and I'll cover the rest.

$300 for that? That thing is awesome, but not $300 awesome. I didn't even realize it was made of foam, which makes it not even worth more than $50 to me.

It looks fantastic in-person (the place near me has one out on display), but yeah, I can't see how NECA justifies the $300 price tag. But did I mention that it looks fantastic?
If Joe gets one he damn well better start churning out photo shoots with it. |

I had my fingers crossed one would show up from Randy. Haha. But I can understand NECA not wanting to send out a massive item like that. Have to weigh the pros and cons to sending stuff to guys like me. Even if I do my best photo shoot ever, would it convince enough people to buy it to justify them giving one away? With smaller items, I think there's a better chance of that for them (as we've seen just in the forums where people say they ordered it after one of our shoots). But, one way or another I plan to try and get this. I just hope people are still interested enough to check out the photo shoot I would do by that point.

That would be the plan. Would be a massive 100+ photo gallery again.

I'd bet that your photo shoot would convert more than a few people who are sitting on the fence about picking this thing up. I'd say NECA sending you a $300 item could pay for itself and then some rather easily, as ToyArk reaches a lot of collectors.

i wonder how this will stand the test of time, being its made of foam and foam has a tendency to deteriorate as it gets older

How great are the Toyark fans? Pretty freakin' great. Randy isn't so bad either.
