Absolute, immediate buy. Asked about this multiple times in the past and psyched to see it actually happening.

Ho...ly...shit. Wow, I'm with Joe...instant purchase, although where the hell I'm going to fit it in my current set-up, I have no idea. Glad to finally see a Lambert figure coming as well! That one was a no-brainer, as all they needed for her was nothing but a new held-sculpt.
Joe, do you think this is simply their Cinemachines piece scaled up, or a brand-new sculpt? I'm noticing weathering on the Space Jockey (I'm NOT calling him an Engineer!!) that I don't see on my Cinemachines piece on my desk, but that could just be paint work? I am for sure getting this as well, immediately! Out of all the characters from the Alien films, Space Jockey is near the top of my list for most wanted (I don't even care that this probably will have no articulation).

Typically, but if this was 100% screen accurate, this needs to be twice as big as it is. Kane/Dallas should be about the length of the Space Jockeys arm, Jockey's arm is longer than they are tall. Still cool, and prob better the scale isn't accurate because most people wouldn't have the room for something that big.

Chiming in with another instant-purchase. The Space Jockey scene is my favorite scene in all of cinema, so there's no way I'm passing this up.

Hmm...interesting comments in regards to how accurate the scale of the Jockey is. But bear in mind that the scale of the Jockey to the Nostromo astronauts varies in the movie because Ridley Scott used children in wide shots to make the Jockey and derelict ship set look bigger, such as in this shot:
However, look at this shot where it's obvious that the grown-up actors are being used...they look more in-scale with the NECA pics: Last edited by Dolemite; 08-25-2016 at 12:34 PM.. |

Seeing how bad Dallas peg warmed, I bet they'll make Lambert a pack-in with this set.

Oh man, you're the best. I tired to link in pics but was having issues and I gave up. And you nailed it about the difference in scale. I like the large establishing shot that makes the Space Jockey appear so massive in scale. Also the smaller scale is they way they went with in Prometheus as their "Engineers" were about this scale as well. I'm still getting this period because it's amazing. |

This is also pretty much how the engineer was revealed to size up to them in Prometheus, which was a nice little way to confirm how big the space jockey was more so meant to be.

Foam? That's...interesting. As pointed out already, at least it won't weigh a ton, but how sturdy is this foam?

the various pictures show just how often NECA gets "it" right.
the devil's in the details, and in some shots I can barely tell between the movie stills and their dio shots. Last edited by Dragasses; 08-25-2016 at 12:54 PM.. |

Never mind. Pre-Order just went live on BBTS, I don't have nor am I willing to spend $320 on this. It's great, looks awesome, but I should have realized after the update came out a bit ago that this was foam, that it'd be priced like their other foam replicas. I can't justify this purchase now...

If it's really $320 you can count my ass out as well. |
