These look good, but I don’t really care for the retro line. In any case, I hope this means we can expect some 7in action figures of Laurie and Loomis in time for Halloween 2020. At this point I don’t see why they wouldn't or couldn’t seeing how they now have the likeness rights for Halloween II.

I'm not really a Michael Myers fan, but holy shit, a Donald Pleasence figure! I will be all over this one when it's released.
In fact, I may have to get an extra so my NECA retro Snake has a president to rescue from New York... |

Pre-ordered from BBTS. Wow. Just wow. I'll have to come back and comment again in a day or so after I've processed this whole thing...

Those are awesome. Put them with your Mego Batman and you've got a crime scene detective, murderer and victim.... yeesh!

Ugh, it's the doll line. Hopefully that means we'll see a Loomis and a normal clothed Laurie for the Ultimate line soon.

The sculpts look really good, but damn I want an ultimate Loomis.
The quality of the retro cloth figures just doesn't cut it for me. |

I don't blame the people waiting for 7-inch versions of Laurie and Loomis, but it just gives NECA a chance to pull the ol' "the 8-inchers didn't sell, so we aren't gonna make 7-inchers" spiel, which sucks because you shouldn't have to buy something you don't want in the hopes they'll make something you do want down the line!

Snake Plissken still hurts, I pray for them to give us a regular style figure one day.

Snake Plissken, Herbert West, Charleston Heston from PotA... So many missed opportunities that would've sold like crazy had they done 7" first!

Yeah, NECA just doesn't get it. I love the 8" retro Snake and Herbert West figures, but I'd KILL for 7" ultimate versions.

Very cool! I have a decent amount of the retro line so deal me in.
I think people have to realize that NECA making retros isn’t always a testing ground to see if a figure will sell. They already made a Myers Ultimate from “Halloween II” The same can be said about the Halloween 2018, both 1990 and 2017 Pennywise, and more. That said, I don’t see us getting an ultimate “Halloween II” Laurie. It’s really not the desired version, and I’m sure they know that. Not very ultimate either. If only they could get the 1978 license. Right?! I took a couple pics with my old Loomis today. |

Well, I never thought I'd say this - but its pretty clear Laurie is being packaged with Loomis becauseshe most likely wouldn't sell otherwise

Nice!!
If Loomis follows the usual design with NECA retro line, you'll be able to remove his overcoat and suit jacket and he'll have a plain white dress shirt with sleeves underneath...that's all you'll need to turn him into a convincing EfNY President (I don't think the guy even had a name, lol). If I'm feeling energetic I may add some blood and bruises (and maybe a bandage around the hand that had the finger cut off), but regardless this will be the easiest and most accurate customs ever. |

A lot of whining and complaining in this thread. NECA has said on numerous occasions that certain retro entries are done that way because they wouldn't be feasible otherwise. Way I see it, fandom is fandom. If you really loved Escape from New York you would have gotten Snake in any form you can get him in, you didn't, it didn't sell, and now any chance of a "prefered" version of him is gone. I love Night of the Demons, I jumped at the opportunity the moment NECA made an Angela retro figure available for sale. I didn't wait for the narrow chance of an ultimate or tweet them to make it in 7 inch scale. I knew that the film was obscure and was just happy to have something that's official, even if it's "out of scale". Angela sold, and a year later they made a Suzy and Stooge two pack, still retros, but more Night of the Demons product none the less. I tell horror fans this all the time, you want more horror figures made, then you have to get out there and support the genre the way superhero and star wars fans rep their passions. Theres a reason why every character in the MCU has a figure, but your favorite cult icons don't.

It’s really not. Some inaccurate info, but it’s mostly how it is. It’s a lower risk for NECA to make the 8” figures, and they have said they use that as a gauge of interest in certain licenses. The cost is lower since they all mainly use the same bodies. The fabric outfits and new heads/hands are far cheaper to produce than a fully sculpted figure. Escape From NY was one they tested in retro, and it sold low enough, they didn’t do anything else with the license.
Night of the Demons is exempt from that, however. Those are requested by, and most likely 100% funded by Shout Factory as exclusive product. For NECA, it doesn’t matter how well they sell, the run is already paid for (it would matter to Shout Factory though).

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about this idea that we should buy crap we don't want on the off chance we get something we do want, when presumably the reason Randy and co. get these licenses for older movies is because people have demanded them enough. If Randy Falk could look me in the eye and tell me with a straight face that he thinks Valerian and Jared Leto 2049 figures have more appeal and sell better than an Ultimate Snake Plissken, well, I want some of whatever he's smokin'!
I’m always for the “Don’t like it, don’t buy it” line of thought. The 8” Snake Plissken didn’t sell well enough, and that was a litmus test to see if there was interest in the license. At the time, that was one of their best efforts in the 8” line.
