I have no words to describe my thoughts on that Queen burster.

It’s been a while since I watched Alien 3 (the assembly cut). I can’t recall different stages of the xeno growing. Looks good though.

I can do without the queen thing. I like the Bambi-burster. It's about damn time. This is the last image I have of it from ages ago. I don't even know if it's the same figure. Looks damn nice though.

Wasn't the queen much smaller? Like, doesn't Ripley hold it in her arms at the end of the film as she falls or is this supposed to be some completely different iteration of it?

The figure, if it is to be scaled with the others, is way too big. In the theatrical cut, Ripley was able to hold it to her chest with her arms and her hand almost fit entirely around its neck. I don't know why NECA went this route, as it is not in keeping with any other set they have done in terms of scale and accuracy. The queen burster had nubs for legs and the arms were barely developed in the film. I really only want the Bambi Burster and I wish it was offered some other way. I may want to fiddle with the Queen Facehugger, but that queen thing will most likely stay in the package. Bambi should have been available by itself with the Queen Facehugger or other accessories.

With the size of the things I'll just consider them partially grown.
A stage in-between full size alien and burster. |

The Queen Chestburster Neca have done I think is based on the Halcyon Alien 3 model kit from way back when. Obviously an early stage of growth toddler phase of the Queen’s development rather than the actual Chestburster seen on film. I don’t like the face Neca have done, it looks too gnarly/smiley, whereas the model kit one had a more appropriate design to the actual Queen’s face, particularly the chin and upper mouth, kinda like the Resurrection Xenomorph piranha chins. The legs are better proportioned on the model too.

They should have just called it a "young" Queen (Princess?) lol. too many people now will jump in with "That's not the Queen Chestburster! from the movie!!!" Well, yeah... of course it's not... it's a young adult Queen that we would have seen had it not gone poof in the smelting pit right after "birth" Personally I think it will look awesome surrounded by a swarm of warriors.

40 FUCKING DOLLARS???!!!
NECA should have put Bambi and the Queen Facehugger in a single pack and sold it for $20. This is just STUPID. |

When I saw that NECA changed their twitter profile to Spike, I initially thought they might be doing a Cujo figure or Max the dog from the 1993 film “Man’s Best Friend”. Either way the alternate head for Spike could easily stand in for Cujo or Max.
With that said, while the inclusion of Spike in this set is a much welcome surprise, Given the price tag of the set, they should have also included a size accurate Queen Chestbuster to display along side their Alien 3 Ripley. I really thought that was going to be included from the start and that the big Queen Chest Buster we’re getting was like a molting concept version of the queen. However, a Queen Chestbuster was also seen in Alien Resurrection so there is still an opportunity for NECA to give us a smaller Queen Chestbuster. Also I really wish this Spike figure could have been articulated. I get it if it’s a cost saving measure not to include articulation, but the figure loses a lot of it’s appeal in opinion not being posable. Last edited by AlanThCollector; 01-15-2019 at 01:54 PM.. |

Awesome. Love it. I hope the dog head will work in the Freddy Kruegar Nightmare Dogs- that would be great to get two pups out of this set.

I'm sure those 2 are the majority of costs here as they're really the only articulated pieces in the set, other than the dog head which I'm sure is just to be able to swap heads. There's a lot more tooling than the rest of the set in those 2.

No, the Queen Facehugger only has a bendy tail. Pack it with Bambi and that's a good buy.

For the price tag they should have thrown in Decimated Bishop. |

This still just does not look like a $40 item to me. NECA should have just released the Bambi Burster with some accessories or a background at $20 and called it a day.
