Xenos fit right in here, since they are the sport of our favorite Yautjas...
@DonMeca: The figures posted in the photos are from Aliens Series 7, and are from the AVP line. They look great. I wish someone would post some photos of the white Xeno, but I'm going to a Toy Fair today and am hoping I'll just run into him while I'm out and about... |

Well Scar, Celtic and Chopper (from AvP) just released a couple weeks ago. And the new masked Scar, temple guardian, and warrior are due out here at the end of march/beginning of April.

Knowing Neca, it'll probably be available on their ebay store prior to anyone else. |

Everything NECA that isn't store exclusive (TRU) goes up on their eBay store first since NECA themselves runs that so naturally they have first access to their own toys.

Spiked Tail, Stalker, and Ghost are all series 16 set for a June release and the Clan Leader is a separate individual deluxe release (like Bad Blood) who is set for a June release as well but this does not mean that he will be shipped with series 16 at all as I saw many stores get Bad Blood well ahead of their getting series 12. However those June release dates are not set in stone and a push to an August release would not come as a surprise. But then before any of those will even come out we will see series 15 arriving in April which consists of the Ancient Warrior, Temple Guard, and masked Scar.

Spiked Tail is the only one from 16 that I'm for sure pursuing, I've already pre-ordered Leader but apparently Spiked Tail will be the underpacked figure after all so I'll have to keep my eyes on their eBay store. Stalker is a maybe and Ghost looks cool but he's a pass. My local TRU is flip-floppy on their reliability and I have to get the majority of my NECA figures online.

Do you mean the preds from Predators? Randy seems to have answered that eventually they'll redo them but I don't think they need to be any bulkier or have any other design tweaks the way NECA adjusted the AVP preds. The AVP preds were stupidly bulky as if they'd been taking steroids and visiting the gym daily, in comparison the Predators preds may have a leaner appearance but their bodies are much more in line with the original looks.

Laser Shot is the only one left from the original Kenner line that I can think of off the top of my head. Since he was the other deluxe besides Leader I could see NECA handling him in a similar fashion.

I guess looking at it they could make their super predators a little beefier but not by much without crossing a line.

They've already done Nightstorm, Scavage, Lava, Cracked Tusk, both Renegades, Ambush, and Hive Wars from the Aliens line. They're doing Clan Leader, Spiked Tail, and Stalker. This leaves only Laser Shot and yes those that had recolors like Stalker, Scavage, and Spiked Tail but to me those sound like easy passes especially if you already have the regular one or their different character repaint.

Never said they wouldn't/shouldn't do them I just said they'd be easy passes for me. They could elect to do the 4 armed one or the other predator from the Hive Wars line but a comparison can't really be drawn between 4-armed and Big Red since one is a cancelled toy that holds no nostalgia-value since nobody could have gotten one back in the day whereas Big Red is from a rather popular fan-film which is well known among the fan-community, plus Big Red was an overall easy repaint with minor new bits while 4-armed would require much new sculpting that couldn't be reused again later which puts many other predators in front of him on the reasonable ideas board. There's also no question that the Kenner homage figures sell, they clearly sell so great that we've gotten multiple waves now and a two-pack dedicated just to those homages. I'd rather see more comic and game based figures before we get Spiked Tail and Scavage redone in the khaki and brown/silver colors respectively.

I'm still stoked that I was able to find Ambush at my TRU. It's a really cool piece but I'd never say it's a must-have.

It was discussed but I have to wonder if the ultimate figures might affect things. Hopefully they'll still do a "greatest hits" wave but they could exclude the main movie hunters since they're getting the ultimate treatment. Guys like Big Red or notable Lost tribe members would fit the bill, I guess figures that were exclusive would be off the table for a reissue wave as it would defeat the exclusivity of the original.

Ambush? Just the one back during SDCC. Not every TRU got the con exclusives but even then Ambush was easily the most desired. My TRU still has like five of the Pacific Rim chibi set though, that thing is too expensive for what it is.

That would REALLY have surprised me. I almost swear back when I did grab it someone gave me a dirty look for taking the last one before they could.

For the remaining Kenner figures, they still have Lasershot and Night Recon from Hive Wars, and after that they can delve into prototypes and unreleased figures, which I'm sure they'll get around to eventually because this line has been incredibly successful for them. It's not really hard to see why either, the Kenner designs are just really "toyetic" and even for an adult collector those bright colors and wacky accessories just catch the eye in a way that the movie accurate figures can't. Even the non-Kenner releases nowadays are taking some aesthetic cues from that.

I think some of the NECA Kenner homages work so well because they tone it down just a little to keep them colorful and a proper homage but also to add a little hint of "well maybe this could've been in a game or comic or maybe even the movie as a background predator." To me they're overall very fun but well integrated re-imaginings of the Kenner designs with a more "serious" approach. The predators are such an unknown species overall that it has a "who's to say" attitude with these characters so it works.

Well NECA just teased us some Ultimate City Hunter in work images via Twitter! This does show that they will sport double hinged elbows with a bicep swivel now and an ab joint. I'm not sure how to feel about the ab joint right now but I get the feeling that it might be problematic in getting them into poses while still trying to keep the netting aligned. This also shows that City Hunter's left hand/arm will not feature the severed option (at least not right now).
