This is the one toy line that I've been putting in the back burner for some time now. With everything else pretty much discontinued it's time to either pay more attention to it or just sell it.

I definitely can understand where the both of you are coming from, as this is one of the most intimidating lines of toys to get into outside of PAK figures due to the incredibly and insanely high prices of them on the secondary market. At this stage for me, it's really come down to...preorder the second waves are announced, or pay for it later as you're going nuts trying to track them down at a decent price on ebay or at a LCS, because figures even a wave or two old can jump up into the 50 to 70 dollar price range literally in what seems like a heart beat. What makes it more difficult for the average collector to jump on the Predator bandwagon, is the near redundancy of the line itself, and trying to figure out where it begins and ends and where to compromise your collection so you don't drive yourself broke in the process. I'm not sure if I am saying this right, but I'll try my best to make sense. For example, while I have nearly every Predator that NECA has put out there in some form, I still have holes and gaps in my collection simply because I don't drop money on every single little variant that NECA throws out there. Do I really need an open mouth Jungle Hunter, a closed mouth Jungle Hunter, an open mouthed battle damaged Jungle Hunter, a closed mouth battle damaged Jungle Hunter, cloaked Jungle Hunter, half cloaked Jungle Hunter, a Jungle Hunter coated with white chocolate sprinkles?..well...you get what I mean. I can sit here and say that I have every Predator because I do in some form, I have the Jungle Hunter, City Hunter, Super and Lost Predator's and etc, but the Predator line (and really...NECA) has forced me to compromise my collection in the process over the years due to the sheer amount of variants in this aspect, which as a collector, is simply soul crushing to the completionist aspect that drives me to collect in the first place. Hope I didn't lose anyone there...But being that Raf is a super collector himself of various lines, I'm sure he knows exactly what I'm trying to say...lol. What do you consider big bucks? Ten or twenty over retail? Twice the retail value? I ask because I've seen a couple of auctions recently in the 60 to 70 dollar price range, and while it's steep, it you really want and love the figure, it's a steal and worth chasing. Especially if you are a fan of the figure, which is a really cool one that I can see hitting Marvel Legends Storm prices in terms of ridiculousness in the coming months as it gets tougher and tougher to find. |

Thank you gentlemen for the kind words, this line has been a definite labor of love (not to mention, drain on my wallet) for a while now.

I wish sometimes NECA would redistribute some items. Some of these predators get like four times original price, but in the Bioshock line (which is my favorite game ever so I hate this) the Rosie Big Daddy is at its lowest around $85 and the Bouncer Big Daddy sits at a $110 low which is feckin' ludicrous.

Lol, Believe me, I understood every word you just said. That is exactly my point! If you know a little bit about me then you know that If I'm in on a toy line, I'm all in or not in at all. So, here is the only reason I would probably not go all in on this one... All the variants that you mentioned, I started late buying these figs and lastly, I made the mistake of opening the first ones I bought which means I would have to buy them "ALL" over again and that will be very costly and time consuming and a headache here and there and... I know you get my point, Lol!
And it's not a mistake that you opened yours Sir. While I have bagged on NECA in the past about QC and what not, these really are some of their finest figures. The only truthful reason that I have kept mine on card all these years is because I had to dump most of McFarlane collection due to broken pieces over the years from moving. I'd be damned if I let that happen again!!! And check that...in researching this post, I realized that I'm missing the Battle Damaged Wolf that comes with the facehugger and chest burster. DAMMIT!!! |

I hope it's not a mail-away like it was originally but NECA is making Ambush Predator, Kenner's invisible mail-away predator.

Still got em! And while they are not from NECA, after years of trying to track these two down at a good price, I was finally able to find them and pull the trigger. And worth every penny. No pictures outta the box yet as I really haven't had the time to mess around with them, but I'll be sure to post some soon. |

If NECA does glow in the dark stalker predator then it'd be really easy to make a Broken Tusk from the original AVP comics, or they could make Broken Tusk and then do glow in the dark stalker.

I remember having a glow-in-the-dark Predator but I don't remember Alien armor on him. Was there more than one that had that feature?

No just the one, his chest armor is like the face/head and on his one arm he has an alien tail.

Like Nerd said, I believe there was only one that had Xeno armor, and it was the glow and the dark one. Here's few more shots of it in closer detail. Here's a few more Kenner Preds that I hope NECA might visit, simply because I'm curious to see how they would handle the unique looks of these guys, since they would require a bit of new sculpting, especially Spike Tail (far right) and Laser "not Dead" Shot Predator (far left.) Clan leader in the center strikes me as an easier one...more than likely to be a super predator repaint, (although if they add the stilts in his boots, as well as the long tusk tendrils, that would be awesome.) Sadly though, outside of a few repaints, there would be nowhere for NECA to go with the Kenner Predators from there, as that would largely complete the line. |

To get Renegade to hold his weapon the way I wanted to I did just pop the hand off, place on weapon, pop hand back on. No looser than it already was.

i see you still have all your originals too !! thats awesome !! it's also wild you still have all those mini comics. if i had them i would call CGC up and see if they were to accept them and throw all of them into a slab... they are just damn near impossible to find those anymore. all my minmi comics ended up getting thrown away.
