I'm still hoping for an Ultimate Ash. Don't know if I'd prefer an Evil Dead II or Army of Darkness version though.

They have the license for the new show, and I'm hoping that somehow enables them to tackle a younger Ash again, too, with proper leg articulation. But I'll be content with Old Man Ash, if need be.

I hope an ultimate Ash would be Army of Darkness. You'd get more accessories, the poster was awesome, and he was more badass in AoD. Also I have and love my ED2 Hero Ash (despite the crummy V-crotch) so I'd feel a little bummed if they completely one-upped that figure.
I kinda feel like this thread is morphing into a more general NECA appreciation thread than its name would imply. I'm going to blame the fact that they only release a wave or two of predators a year.

I know there has be a lot of issues with the Evil Dead and Army of Darkness rights. I think it started with Evil Dead and AoD being from two different movie studios. Kinda the same problem Child's Play always had with part 1 being MGM and the rest being someone else. I really would love to replace my AoD Mcfarlane ash and evil ash figures with NECA versions, but it just does not seem to be in the cards. They made all the EDII versions, and have the liscence for the new show, but NECA only made S-mart Ash and Medieval Quest Ash. I know there had to be some reason they did not make regular Ash and Evil Ash from AoD.
The evil dead comics have had to dance around this issue as well as there are 2 different series recently one with Evil Dead II in the title and one with Army of Darkness in the title and the comics are totally unrelated story wise. |

Back on topic..... I was super happy to find a couple of 7$ Pred Hounds at Hastings this past week :-) Now I need to go to Hobby Lobby and get some jewelry chains for leashes.

I really wish there was a Hastings within sane driving distance in my state. They're all located out in the border towns in the middle of nowhere for some reason. I passed on the hound simply because I never cared much for the look or the price, but at the 7 buck price point I'm seeing some people show here, I would have been down for two of them at least. Oh well.
As for the issue of torso articulation on an "Ultimate" Predator, it really all just depends on where the cut is, and how they do it. My Monster Arts Wolf Predator has a torso cut, and it really doesn't break up the look of the sculpt at all. The same with my Revoltech Predator (at least the upper torso...the lower abdomen's crunch is rather unsightly and hideous.) |

I am *so* grateful to have a Hastings nearby. It's the only retail source I can utilize for my hobby. There's simply nothing on the mainstream toy shelves that I want anymore.
That said, bookmark gohastings.com. They have great sales, too. I was broke, and so couldn't take advantage, but they had the NECA BioShock Boys of Silence for $5 each or something ridiculous. I'd have bought a dozen at that price.

gohastings.com is actually where I got my Hero Ash. It was last August (2014) and I was browsing the site and I saw they had Hero Ash in stock again for some reason, I'd checked before and he was unavailable, so I jumped on it immediately. After the order went through it said they were sold out, I guess they found one or so lying around in a warehouse and I scooped it up. I've gotten some good deals on their site, I only wish it was possible to price match their store to their site as some things like new DCC animated figures are cheaper online.

I'm blocked from accessing the GoHastings.com website. Interesting. Wonder if the web server is set to deny foreign visitors.

I'm gonna have to agree with this statement btw...maybe if it was a general thread about Predator toys (as well as Xenos, kinda like the "Star Wars Appreciation" thread) we'd be a little better off, since there are plenty of those. We get too easily sidetracked I think.

So NECA revealed two of the figures for series 15! Temple Guard we already knew and it looks Bull will be joining him. I'm pretty sure that this is Bull from AVPR, if not then it's the same mask. I'd bet masked Scar will be the third figure in the set.

Was Bull one of the Predators on the ship that the Predalien got loose on? Other than the mask it looks kinda like Wolf.

Yeah Bull was the one who shot the ship down and then sent out the distress beacon that Wolf picked up, then the predalien killed Bull. I could be wrong about this actually being Bull because this mask was also in the first AVP I think. I get what you're saying about similarities to Wolf but Wolf also had a pretty unique breastplate that seemed smaller and edgier than the others.

Cool. When I said he kinda looks like Wolf I just meant that maybe it wouldn't be too hard to rework this mold into a Wolf 2.0. Still waiting for that to get announced. Unless it already has and I've missed it somehow?

From what someone on Twitter said the guy we keep calling Bull might be one of the predators from the flashback scene. This would make more sense than it being Bull. Edit: Yep, masked Scar is the third for series 15. Also the guy with the same mask as Bull is "Ancient Warrior."

Even though that's a bit of a wait I'm glad to hear that it's likely to happen.

NECA posted a new Scarface teaser on their Twitter feed. He looks cool but since I never played the game I'm leaning towards passing on him.
