So Herbert West can't get an Ultimate figure, but a doll that just sits there and never moves gets one? This is seriously a prime candidate for the 8" clothed line, what the heck are they thinking?

As for this figure, my son is big into the Conjuring type paranormal horror, so I’ll probably grab one for him. |

Annabelle is the figurehead of rhe highest grossing Horror franchise of all time. Doing an ultimate of her makes perfect sense. |

Herbert West would be the worst selling Ultimate figure of all time. I’d love to get one, and the 8” West is the only figure I own in that form, but I just don’t think the demand is there to justify production.
As for this figure, my son is big into the Conjuring type paranormal horror, so I’ll probably grab one for him. As for Annabelle being from a high-grossing horror movie, yeah, that's great and all, but I'd bet money in 5 years people will have forgotten all about the Conjuring universe

All you have to do is go to any list of unmade toys to see that the SOTA and Amok Time 7" Herbert West figures that were cancelled are still highly desired, and people would easily fork over the money for an ultimate (plus most of the pieces exist already: pants, collared shirt, numerous hands... NECA has gotten more into the reuse game lately, and I'm a-ok with that!)

Nice packaging. I’ll bite. I’m getting a bit underwhelmed lately with the horror figures. I feel like we have gotten almost everything we want. I hope neca tries something new. I don’t know what, but something. Maybe horror in a new scale....3.75 maybe, I don’t know. I just keep wondering how many more predators I can own. Or aliens, or Jason, etc.
Also on re-animator vs. the conjuring.... the conjuring may be more popular box office wise, but those that like those movies are not Necessarily the people that buy action figures. Herbert may be more cult but his fan base buys action figures. Last edited by Comedian; 01-20-2020 at 10:02 AM.. |

I've never seen any of these movies, but doesn't Annabelle just, like, sit there and never move or change expression? Or do anything at all? But she gets an ultimate figure nonetheless? I don't get it.

That said, I would buy the shit out of any West figure (I own the NECA retro 8" and even the fairly crude Re-Action-style figures that Amok Time put out), and I collect horror figures in general that I think look cool (even if I'm not 100% familiar with the property), but so far none of the Conjuring-related stuff grabs me. Seems like a missed opportunity to not make the whole box look like the glass case that holds Annabelle...

But the figure comes in the glass display case. So, you'd have a display case inside a display case.
