Ha! As much as I found Shin mostly... meh... and the design of Godzilla a lot of WTF... I think this figure looks awesome!

Can't get excited about this. I mean, it's the same figure with a new head and two effects pieces. Seems like a cash run.

That's what they decide to show after all this time?

I'm not sure what makes me madder. The fact they are just doing ANOTHER Godzilla repaint after all of this time or that they are doing another Godzilla repaint of a figure Bandai already did in MonsterArts form. NECA does know there are other versions of Godzilla out there, right? Hell, there are still 8 different Showa versions they can do.

As a guy who would rather not lay down over $150 for the Monsterarts, this will do nicely

I am not at all surprised. I totally understand why people are disappointed with this reveal but it should have been expected, they've tweaked and re-released every other Godzilla except for the '54 look. From a monetary perspective it makes sense to try and get the most mileage out of the sculpt. Hopefully they have something actually new for Godzilla and they're holding off until SDCC to unveil it but I'm not going to hold my breath.

It's the point of the matter. Who the hell wants to buy a Godzilla that permanently has his jaw detached like that anyway?

They really should have included everything together in one release.

Well, good for those who want it. I'm still holding out hope for a figure of Zilla.

I love it! I already have the standard Monsterarts release so I didn't really need the initial NECA figure. This works out perfectly for me since I still wanted an atomic version of Shin Godzilla and I skimped on the Monsterarts release of that. This way I can have the standard Monsterarts for display, and this atomic version from NECA as my rampaging desk toy.
The malformed appearance combined with the intense laser blast perfectly captures Hideaki Anno's aesthetic and style, especially with how reminiscent it is to his God Warrior creature. Last edited by ronriii; 06-27-2018 at 06:22 PM.. |

I'm with you. I love the first figure from NECA, and didn't want to touch the MA version for the cost. I get fans who are frustrated, but do any of us know what Tojo is letting them make?

Already own both Neca and Monsterarts ver for Shin. Since the Monsterarts Shin Awakening ver still in crazy price state. I'll grab from Neca 1st then. Thanks NECA.
