I wanted to like these figures, but they do not live up to the pictures at all.

Neca seems to do this most of the time. I really wanted the zombie. I guess the Deacon will be the last of that line for me...

Very disappointing. I was really looking forward to getting that Shaw figure.

With a movie as horrible as Prometheus what can you expect? They continue to butcher the Alien franchise, there hasn't been a good movie since Aliens, and Prometheus was the absolute worst of them all.
They'd be better off picking up some unknown low budget direct to video piece of crap & making figures from that. Saying Prometheus sucked is the biggest understatement ever. |

I absolutely love Prometheus, so I'm definitely disappointed to see the Dr. Shaw figure being cancelled. Zombiefield I couldn't care less about, but I would have gotten the Shaw figure. She really should have been the first figure to be released...

Whoever posts these news stories NEEDS to double check facts. NECA has said series three's sales will determine if they do the new toolings. Please edit this to say delayed rather than cancelled. If and when NECA declares the toolings are cancelled then that will be more apt.

Now that's a damn shame if Fifield and Naomi Rappace don't get made as characters, especially given that the latter was the main character in the movie. In a way I can understand NECA's hesitance though, these aren't flying off the shelves @TRU despite their recent $12.99 sale. Despite that, TRU is the only brick & mortar mass market retailer carrying the line.
In the future it might be better to make box sets featuring multiple figures. I think the new Alien(s) figures will actually sell better.

Ok, serious question, when you watch Prometheus it doesn't bother you how all the characters do the exact opposite of what any normal human with a halfway functioning brain would do? And how not one of them acts like a scientist?
The characters in Prometheus have been compared to the retards in most low budget slasher flicks. Doing the exact opposite of what any normal human being would do. Would you try to pet the alien snake? Would you simply take your helmet off to see if the air is safe to breath without doing any tests first? If you knew you were infected with some kind of alien sickness or disease would you act like nothing is wrong? If you were about to be crushed by a giant donut would you keep running straight in it's path? Steamroller from Austin Powers anybody? If you just had your gut cut wide open & a giant alien squid was removed, would you be running & jumping around like Spider-Man? If your crew just got slaughtered & you barely survived yourself would you just fly off into the unknown all by yourself to find more aliens that will definitely try to kill you & most likely succeed? And that's just a tiny portion of the absolutely stupid shit that happened in the movie. One scene after another something stupid happened that made me roll my eyes. I saw it for free & still wanted my money back. It was THAT bad! Last edited by Noisemaze; 04-24-2013 at 11:46 PM.. |

Snipped for space...I don't see why you need to go out of your way to bash a movie in a thread about the figure's based on it, but whatever. I loved the movie, and I can't imagine any reasoning I would offer up would be good enough for you to allow me to have my own opinion. You seem to hate it that much. Anyways, can we stay on-topic? I've considered getting David, but I was waiting for Shaw to get released. I don't think it'd be worth owning him if she wasn't released. That said, I might get him the next time I'm out at TRU...maybe.

The ampule looks good, but the figure it comes with is more important. I'll be giving David a good looking over the next time I make it out to TRU. Which that probably won't be for another couple weeks or so.
