The stands look pretty interesting and have obvious applications beyond just "NECA figs," but pricing will be a very important factor. I like the sturdy look they have and I could see using them for larger ML figs, but if they are sold at the price-point of a figure ($20), I'm not sure that I'd buy more than a couple. Also, the suction cups are a nice idea, but they won't hold long in humid-warm weather states/environments.

These will be $10 or less per stand. Wouldn't be surprised to see then at $8 each at some stores.

Edit: I originally spelled it "has" instead of "had," what am I a meme?! Back when they released their basic figure bases I was kinda surprised they were 10 for $10. It's not the greatest bargain regarding bases but I was concerned they might cost more, even if only by like $2.

Holy shit, these are potentially awesome, especially if they come in at a decent price point. Like En Sabah Nerd said, a buck apiece for their regular stands wasn't the greatest deal on Earth, especially since they only had one foot peg each (two would have been better). $10 or even $8 each for these new stands is a wee bit high.

Ewwww, that hook is gross. Maybe you could remove it and hot glue the arm to the back of the figure instead. If you use a low enough temp hotglue gun it comes off easily.

Great idea, NECA! I like these. Much depends on the particular characters you want to display, and how and where they're displayed, but I want to try out at least a couple, maybe more if they work well.

I'm glad NECA is getting into this game, can't have too many good stands. The suction cups are a good idea if you have a great wall to put them on. I can't imagine just sticking a more expensive figure up on a wall and just walking away though. |

While these (so far, anyways) don't look as if they're going to be as high-quality as Bandai's stands, I like the idea of multiple companies releasing their own stands, so that we have more and more options available.

I'm looking forward to using these in some photo shoots. Will be good for battle scenes to get some jumping Predators and such.

$9.99 plus $6.75 shipping. Ouch. I'll just wait until they hit retail.

In the end I ordered two from Forbidden Planet at the same time and paid one shipping fee. The interest is high enough that they're going for more than you might have initially thought on eBay!
