Ah, I had no idea they had already released this figure. Wait, how many Jasons did they release previously?

They also did NES style repaints of the regular and mego part 3 offerings.

This might not be all of them but I know NECA has done;

Meh. I'm really only interested in Part 7 Jason at this point. Also curious about Jaxon X and Part 8 and 9 too.

Seriously, this figure is perfect!!! I am so happy with this. I actually really liked this movie, especially Derek Mears and the overal Jason design. |

Hmm... I actually expected him to come with a few more accessories.. at least the crossbow and bear trap, but I’ll take it.
It looks like they fixed the issue with the hair being sculpted to the straps of the mask, but now we have a different problem with the unmasked head having way to much hair on his head. While the 2009 version did sport stringy strands of hair on his head it came across much more subtly on screen and on the portrait of the original release. Certain angle of this new version make it look like he almost has a full head of blond hair. Last edited by AlanThCollector; 10-31-2018 at 08:15 AM.. |

This is fantastic.
My original was lost when I moved to my new house, I never wanted to pay the high prices it went for after that. The old one's hair was attached to the mask, which was crappy, glad they fixed that here. So bought!

I'm really excited to finally seeing this get a much needed upgrade, but still, not without some minor disappointments. Another expressive hand of some sort would have been nice, and I would really like to see NECA find some sort of way to incorporate an elbow that gets slightly more than 90 degrees of bend. Doesn't have to be a double jointed one (since I know NECA likes to keep the fluidity of their sculpts,) but still, there has to be something they can do to help engineer it along, especially when other companies already are.
That hammer/icepick accessory is another curious one. I remember the Mezco version of this figure having something very similar, yet he never used that weapon in the film as far as I can recall...even in the alternate kill sequences that were changed in the director's cut. I still have the original figure, so I'm excited to see this one coming down the line. I wonder if this means we will eventually see an Ultimate (or at least...revamped) version of the Jackie Earle Haley Freddy figure that NECA released back when that film came out. While that film was a tub of you know what, I actually liked JEH's menacing take on the character, and while I didn't dig the look in the beginning, it grew on me in a big way. It's still one of my favorite Freddy figures to date. |

Speaking of which, what accessories would people want to see for a Part 7? Obviously that weird buzz saw on a stick thing, and ideally a sleeping bag. What else? |

Very nice. The FvJ Jason is actually my favourite look for him. I’ve got the NECA 18” statue and it just looks so good. An ultimate for that is 2nd on my wish list only to Part 7.

I guess a plant pot and victim head could be a possibility. I don’t remember the party hat. I can see why NECA are avoiding it. Apart from the fact that it’s a guaranteed nest egg that any sensible business would keep up their sleeve, the quality of their recent figures has made this an incredibly difficult sculpt to make well. A rotting Jason is going to require a masterpiece of sculpting. On the plus side they can probably reuse it for Part 8. |

Does he use a sickle in that film? Oh man, a sickle-carrying Part 7 Jason would be incredible.

A potted plant would be cool as would a destroyed hockey mask that's been split in two. Maybe a spare head that has the tightened mask against Jason's face with puss forming around the side straps. Pure speculation, but I think a part of the problem with getting a part 7 or 8 figure out there might have to do with Kane Hodder himself. I spoke with him at a comic convention two or three years ago, to which he autographed my part 7 NECA figure. He made a couple of very passive-aggressive comments about the company as he was signing it, to which I thought it best to not press him about. |

They probably don't need likeness rights, but I'm sure they would love to have a blessing of some sort before going forward. Neca was sure they did this with Betsy Palmer and Ari Lehman when they did their Mego Pamela/Jason set a few years back. The makers of the game immediately reached out to Kane for his blessing and then later, the motion capture as well when it came time to go into production. It could just be a matter of formality and not stepping on any toes. Only Kane and Randy know for certain.

With Betsy Palmer they also did actually need her likeness rights. Randy has mentioned (if I'm remembering the details correctly) how she only ever signed off for her likeness one project at a time and this could be the reason they never give us an updated 7" Pamela.

If they made a retro, they could do a better job. Personally I like the hair a lot on this figure. One of my favorite parts of this design. In the more recent F13th comics he had hair as well. |

He definitely has more hair than you think. Look at this pic attached.

Personally I like the hair a lot on this figure. One of my favorite parts of this design. In the more recent F13th comics he had hair as well. This new figure literally has thick blond hair laying around his shoulders. Compare that picture you posted to the figure revealed and you can see what I mean. I just wish NECA sculpted the hair in a way that was more subtle or at least more swept back so it’s not so obvious. Aside from the strands of hair that were attached to the mask, I think they achieved his look much better and accurately with the original release. |
