These look like film promotion photos! Love the lighting and poses too. The Fugitive is a pretty cool predator, and an even better figure. I hope people buy this guy, thanks for the shoot and review!

The movie was absolutely hot garbage - it's seriously the worst Predator movie by far, MUCH worse then either of the AVP movies - but the Fugitive Predator was cool at least, and while I wasn't a fan of his design at first, it grew on me and now I really like it. It's a more high-tech look and it's a nice change that still maintains the basics that you'd want with a Predator design. Plus, I liked his sassy attitude.
NECA's Fugitive Predator figure is great, albeit with a few QC issues that aren't really a big deal. The paint on the masked head is consistently sloppy across the board, but I managed to find a store that had just put an entire case out and found one that was acceptably good (although not perfect, but better than the one in photo shoot above). I'm not really having an issue with the shoulder cannon, but I can see how things could go very wrong if I'm not careful with it. It just feels delicate. Also, they gave Fugitive dual wrist blades, which isn't film-accurate...in the movie he has a different gauntlet on his left arm, but whatever. No biggie, and otherwise the figure is great, with solid joints, great articulation, and good paint apps (mask aside). As usual, Joe, great photo shoot. You did an especially nice job with the lighting. Do you use gels for the different colors? Last edited by Dolemite; 09-28-2018 at 12:02 PM.. |

P.S. This movie was SO, SO BAD. Like, it's not just horrible when taken as a Predator movie...there are loads of terrible writing/editing issues that make it just a total train wreck of a film in every regard, to the point that I honestly hope there's no sequel if that overrated hack Shane Black is involved again.

Joe, this might be one of your best shoots yet. Seriously. A lot of these shots would make fantastic wallpaper. NECA should have sent you one early and then used your photos on the box.

I think they might rotate out who gets stuff early. Or I need to ask (don’t really like to do that too much). And thanks for the kind words. Glad people are enjoying this one.

As usual, Joe, great photo shoot. You did an especially nice job with the lighting. Do you use gels for the different colors? If NECA does end up releasing a 2.0 update I think it should everything this figure has in addition to: 1. Better skin tone paint applications to match the film. 2. Improved unmasked head sculpt with cleaner paint applications 3. An accurate left arm guantlet with removable device. 4. An additional masked head sculpt with glowing blue eyes (achieved through paint). 5. A pair of opened and collapsed AVP Shurikens with an extra pair of hands to hold them. 6. Stronger plasma caster with blast effect. 7. Bonus Fugitive Mask and Human Assault rifle. Am I missing anything? Thoughts? Other than that I think this figure is nice, a little lacking for an “Ultimate” Predator figure, but still pretty nice. Great picture as always Joe! |

In the movie, did they ever even say what the dumb thing was? They show Fugitive stick it in his gauntlet when he's crashing and he seems really desperate to get it back after he loses it, but what the hell was it? I thought maybe it had something to do with ship navigation but there was a scene early on when you see it launch a mini-buzzsaw blade, so who the hell knows. Probably just more poor scriptwriting.
Ha! I did get a kick out of that part when he grabs a guard's gun and mows a few dudes down with it. Again, the Fugitive Predator was the only good thing about that shitbomb of a movie. |

Man, these photo shoots keep getting better and better! Wasn't even interested in this figure (and I'm as good a Predator fan as any) but now...
It's official: Joe, my wallet hates you. Seriously though, great job on that camera and photo setting and lighting!

Awesome pics for an awesome character.
Really liked the movie. Hope they make something for the ending of it too later on. Looking forward to the sequel. |

Why did you like the movie? I thought it was poorly written and uncomfortably trying to be funny. But yeah maybe this story does need a continuation but without Shane Black.
