Not the latter. No new NOES for sdcc. Maybe for anyone for while...

There have been issues for a while that have impacted other licensees more immediately. Luckily we had a lot in development early that we were able to still bring to you all.

New Line is pulling all rights from companies to Nightmare On Elm Street. Mego mentioned it a couple months back, and then NECA mentioned it a couple weeks ago. No explanation has been given, but it's affecting multiple companies.
NECA Twitter As for Friday The 13th, there's been a massive ongoing lawsuit between Paramount and the writer of the original film. NECA has been able to circumvent this a bit, due to having a bunch in the works prior to the lawsuit. But, with it ongoing, it's finally caught up to them. NECA Twitter

The thing that really stings, is they confirmed that a FvJ Freddy was well into development when they got word.

As for Freddy, that's a bit murkier. Mego said they basically had to stop production all together. Which is why the 2nd run of Freddy's was so short (the one with the fixed glove).

So, Roy and Corpse Pamela are still coming, then. *whew*
Luckily, most of my must-have Jasons have been released, but here's hoping that either Part 7 can still get made soon or that NECA will get their asses to work on one after the lawsuit FINALLY gets resolved...whenever the fuck that will be. Ideally, I'd love to have the entire Jason roster completed by NECA one day, which Randy has said is the goal. And yeah, this lawsuit has also totally fucked the videogame. Lots of in-work content had to be ditched. The selfishness of Sean Cunningham is really screwing over the fans. |

If Cunningham wins, Miller loses his rights to the film.

It's a lot more messy than that. Victor Miller wants complete ownership of the 1st film, which, if granted, causes a ripple effect of what he actually owns. Meaning that Jason Voorhees would essentially be split between two entities. Doomsday scenario is that Paramount can use the character concepts after the first film, but loses the Jason name, the movie title, and the backstory. A deal will be struck eventually, but they gotta throw cash around, which they haven't been willing to do.
So if Cunningham loses, Paramount will have to license those rights from Miller. If Cunningham wins, Miller loses his rights to the film. Regardless of when the suit is settled, however, the game will never be resurrected. The damage there is done. |

Yeah, I've been following the ins-and-outs of this case as well, but this all could have been avoided if Cunningham had just been willing to toss a few bucks at Miller and settle this thing before it got out of hand. I'm pretty sure Miller isn't really interested in controlling the F13 brand at his age.

So I wonder how Trick or Treat Studios got the license to produce Nightmare on Elm Street masks and gloves?

Likely a different license than the action figure license. Trick or Treat items are marketed as costumes and props. New Line could also be shuffling licenses around in general.

So we’re still getting FvJ Jason?
I’m mainly a massive fan of the original series (and still hoping for Part 7 like most), but FvJ Jason 6” has been very high on my wish list. Is that still on despite all of the court malarkey? |

Yes, FvJ Jason is still happening, as is the Lake Corpse Pamela Voorhees 8" Figure.

With that said, I'm assuming that this would also put an end to Mezco's upcoming Freddy, or would that still be able to come out since it's already been in development for a while now?

Basically, everything we've already seen from Freddy and Jason should hit stores, the stuff that's already up for pre-order. Those had been in development long before we've seen them. After that is where it becomes problematic.
I'm hoping Randy will talk a bit more about it next weekend at the NECA Fan Event.

He's been asked about Parts 7, 8 and Jason X dozens (if not hundreds) of times on Twitter. He responds the same every time. The plan is to do every version eventually. But after the FvJ, it becomes tougher due to the lawsuit.

I was hoping part 8 was one of the "already in some stage of production so it'll squeak by" Jasons.

They have multiple ones in the works (at least 8" versions), but there's no guarantee that it will hit (NECA Twitter). If there's no new Jason Figures at SDCC (already confirmed no new Freddy's there), then we know they hit a road bloack.

Once the lawsuit is resolved, or a settlement is reached, then everything should be back to normal for them.

I could have sworn it was stated officially at one point that the lawsuit only affected things that basically created a new narrative with the property (movies, videogames, etc) and not merchandise. Hmm, guess that was wrong.

Well, if NECA's able to re-use parts - say the shoes - doesn't that mean that all other versions of Jason could be considered 'in-production'?
