Beautiful gallery, Joe. I can't wait for my local store to get this in.
BTW, is this a new sculpt, or did they just add extra articulation to the original release? I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's the latter. Either way, it's an awesome figure, with the greatest accessory ever...THE TEDDY BEAR! |

If they did modify the original Jason, it looks like they added some extra rips and tears to the jacket, and resculpted the pants a bit. I don't have the old figure available, only had pics from Google, which weren't great.

Thank you!
The new one feels bulkier than that one looks. So if they reused the old mold, then they modified the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, ankles at least.

Yeah, quite a lot improved. Most striking to me is the paint apps. Really get the feeling of rot on the new one.

Just out of curiosity, how much bigger is this figure compared to the previous Jasons (like Part 3 and 4)? I know he's described as being bigger, but I'm wondering if he's just slightly bigger or if he towers over the others. If I get him, I'd display him with my other Jasons and I think he'd look weird if he was, like, a head taller.
Actually, if there's a measurement of him, I can figure it out myself. |

Killer photos Joe! Loving the look of this one, and the teddy bear and masks are insanely cool! It’s not my favorite Jason movie, but I always liked the look of him.
I would say the scratched mask is kind of a Freddy accessory. I think it was only scratched up in the dream sequence, he even removes it from Jason and holds the mask at one point. |

My only gripe is that the unmasked face has the exact same texture and color as his jacket. It all blends together. NECA is usually screen accurate with things, so maybe that how he really appeared? Anybody have any insight? Otherwise, I love the different masks and accessories and am eager to add him to my collection.

I personally HATE this look for Jason... but damn, Joe. You're pics are making me need this figure. Really digging how that bloody mask looks.

Thanks, Joe. That face looks accurate. Just wish they went with skin tones so it didn't look so similar. Then again, I feel like they usually have thought everything out and have their reasons for things. And it's such a minor quibble anyway; I'll be displaying him with the mask on.

This actually will be my first 6in. Ultimates figure since the two other Jasons from Neca that I have are those Retro Clothed figures. But man these pictures are badass.

Thanks! The masks really are worth it. Can always put the bloody mask on one of the other Jason figures as well.

Thanks, glad you enjoy the pics. Part 6 is my favorite design personally. Some of the individual design choices for the costume are odd, but it comes together for a decent looking take.

This is the best Jason figure they have made in my opinion. Not my favorite movie or Jason design, but the figure is honestly a work of art.

Finally picked this up today.
They’ve nailed the flame effect on the sword. The bloody and scratched masks are fantastic additions to the set as well. Glad they included the teddy bear. For something that wasn’t in the film it’s become almost iconic. The film’s ok, but this is actually my 2nd favourite Jason look (after 7), and the figure really captures that Frankenstein’s monster vibe they went for. The level of detail in this is remarkable, and another work of art from NECA. It’s fresh out of the packet, but articulation in the legs still feels a bit stiff. Not really an issue at the moment as he’s perched near my TV, but that’s my only gripe. Love the photos Joe. Might have to get another Freddy to go with this, as I suspect it will be a long time before we see the official FvJ version. |

The Wes Craven estate got the rights back. Not sure if Neca has to negotiate a new licensing deal with them now. But, at least we know who owns it (unlike F13).

The got the U.S. rights back (to the first film), while New Line still owns the international rights. It's the same thing that happened with Friday the 13th, however, no one put up a fight with the Craven Estate flexing their rights.
