I’m a big NECA fan, and an even bigger Ft13 fan. I have the Nintendo, part 4 and part 6 figures, along with the accessory pack and the FvJ 18” statue.
I’m not a completionist, but would like to add to my collection. My Alien and Gremlin collections take up most of my available display space, so I need to be sparing when it comes to new additions. Right now there’s part 2, part 3, and part 5 dream Jason available. Which one would you recommend? I’m not a massive fan of sack head Jason, but he does look good and comes with the campfire. Part 3 is a bit of a classic that has plenty of great accessories, but I’m not sure the sculpt lives up to parts 4 and 6. Dream Jason is just part 4 with a few new heads, but those heads look pretty great. |

If you only could go with one, I'd recommend the Part 3 Jason by NECA. I know you have your reservations with the sculpt, but the head sculpt is a dead on representation to that character's appearance in that film. The accessories it comes with are great as well, and will work perfectly with all of your other NECA Jasons, so the play value is there as well.
The recent 1/4 scale release is amazing in hand. I have it and the recent Sideshow Toys 1/6 scale figure, and the NECA version blows it away in my honest opinion, and is about 100 bucks cheaper. If I had to recommend one figure outside the NECA releases, I'd go with the Uber-Jason (Jason X) figure from McFarlane toys. While it's essentially a statue, what it lacks in articulation, it more than makes up for with an incredible sculpt that looks great on the shelf. |

I'd say if you already have the part 4 and part 6 ultimate figures then part 2 would be my pick. Part 3 is a great figure but with part 4 already in your collection they will look somewhat similar (though not entirely), the part 2 sack-head look though is particularly unique and I really dig the presence the fireplace adds to the shelf.

I just picked up Part 4 myself last weekend, but I am just slightly disappointed with him as I think I ended up with a defective figure and none of my Targets have restocked that version for me to exchange it for a new one. Of course, that doesn't fix that I feel his articulation is lacking a little, especially in the ankles as I can't move his feet at all.
I want Part 6 next though, but I'm going to pass on Part 5 for sure. I do hope NECA gives us some characters to have Jason kill off though. Does anyone know if Target is going to carry the accessory set?

since you have 4 and you don't want every jason figure, i'd go with part 2. its a good figure and i like the fire pit accessory.
i have all the jasons but i prefer the mezco part 6 over neca part 6 which i didn't even bother getting. i still have the part 2 pamela/jason set but i'm gonna probably move on from the part 2 jason since the ultimate on is better they need to finish this set up with an ultimate part 7 (original is great but pre posed) ultimate part 8 ultimate part 5 roy ultimate part 9 JGTH little jason (could be a 2 pack of him as a boy and him coming from the lake) least on my list would be Jason x regular but cyborg jason x would be sweet |

Thanks for the replies. Very helpful.
I think I’ll rule out part 5. I actually love the fact that they’ve done the dream version, but I’d really only be buying it for the worm mask (although the poster mask is a nice novelty). I’m leaning more towards part 2 now. Part 3 Jason has amazing accessories, but am I right in thinking that it’s exactly the same sculpt as the Nintendo version that I have? Part 2 looks very distinctive, plus the camp fire is a must-have. Maybe I’ll pick up Part 3 Jason some other time (I’m going to have to put up a new shelf aren’t I?!). I’ll definitely look at some of the other companies that have done Jason figures. I don’t mind statues if they’re done well (my FvJ 18” Jason is one of my favourites out of my whole collection). As for victims, that would be great. I’m very tempted to build a diorama (a simple cabin, lake, and trees job), which I can combine with the existing accessory pack. I know Randy has said that likeness rights for victims are difficult, and that there’s a limited appeal, but surely there are ways around that? They wouldn’t need likeness rights for a zipped up sleeping bag or a headless corpse. |

I don't even need the characters to look exactly like the actors anyway. Most of them were just there to die, so I couldn't care less if they just like repainted an Alien Ripley body, gave her a generic head, and called her Ginny.
As for figures from the movies, I draw the line at Jason Takes Manhattan. To me, that is the end of the franchise.

As for figures from the movies, I draw the line at Jason Takes Manhattan. To me, that is the end of the franchise. Like a lot of people, the version I’d love to see is a NECA Jason Part 7. Have to wonder if it’s an issue with Kane Hodder, as in recent years we haven’t seen any versions from the Kane films. You’d think a Tommy Jarvis figure (young or adult) would be popular enough. I’m also hoping to see a new version of the shrine one day. I’m just grateful that NECA have made so many great Jason figures, but I’m greedy and want some victims! The same with NoES (though I love my Mezco roach girl). I still haven’t decided on a figure yet! I had my finger hovering over the purchase button for sack head, but I just don’t have a lot of love for that look (even if it’s a great looking figure). |

So it seems like every Jason but Part V Dream version has disappeared at all of my Targets.
