Looking over it again, I'm not entirely sure that isn't what they did. It could easily be a back story.

Youngblood's bio sounds like it could be a younger Wolf from AVP:R given how badass he was.

I guess I'm the only one here who thinks that backstory is awful. It's not as bad as the Kenner Stalker Predator...(which was awful,) but it's still pretty meh.
Hard for me to take seriously that "Youngblood" was the bad ass that the bio makes him out to be, especially when he looks identical to the Predator who ended up having to annihilate an entire civilization because him and his boys got a little overzealous and overwhelmed at the top of a temple. Did he develop that technique too?...lol. Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 11-30-2016 at 04:58 PM.. |

I'd go with him being "a reckless shoot first, ask questions later hothead" Predator or maybe he was "the captain's slow-minded nephew, just excited to be on board a real spaceship...AND HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THAT THING!!! **PEWPEWPEW**"
You know something along those lines. |

Also I think they butchered the AVP Elder Bio by not making him an elder which totally defeats the purpose of his namesake while also changing something that is cannon. His role doesn't even make sense and throwing in the Clan Leader as part of his in my opinion mucks up a story that wasn't that great to begin with. I almost want to say that whoever is writing these bios at NECA think that they are improving or adding to the predator lore, but some of these backstories honestly seem like weak attempts fanfiction at best. With all that said like all of the Predators NECA has made it's still an awesome looking figure and if you really want to you can just make up your own stories with how you display them with other figures. |

Damn, NECA's Predator bios just keep getting better and better! That is so freaking awesome.

That's a pretty cool bio for a pretty cool figure. I just wish the «most successful Xenomorph hunter of all time» came with a bunchload of trophies: an updated Alien skull, an Alien's inner tongue made into the handle of a sword, etc.

For accuracy's sake he is proper. All of the predators in the 2010 game had pretty minimal body armor and I think they all just had the same body. Having said that they could have given him a freshly removed alien's inner mouth since that is the result of one of the finishing moves a player can perform.

When NECA put their first AvP Predators, they put a lot of accessories and extra hands. I thought it was a new standard and was extremely pleased with what I got for my money. Now, I just hope they don't reserve the extras exclusively for their Ultimate figures...

Love it when they're a little nuts.

Personally I'm not into the Kenner homage - I find them too colorful for my taste - but I appreciate NECA for doing them for other collectors. Had to get palid Ghost Predator though Something in his bland color scheme just resonates with me.

The AVP predator, unmasked scar, was my first in the line. I was highly impressed. I had never gotten any of the others but pre-ordered the Kenner based on the Scar. I got them and really didn't care for them. I felt like quality wasn't there, and they just paled in comparison to the AVP style. The only Kenner I liked was the stalker but the gaps between the hand and wrist killed ne. So I took those back to TRU and have committed myself to the AVP style. I love them, they are built like tanks, paint is immaculate, they are just fantastic. I do have the Elder predator though, I like the design that went into him. I would probably have some of the other older ones but prices are a little crazy. I am looking forward to series 17.

Serpent Hunter's design is one of my favorites, with a more 90s style repainting I think he'd be right at home with the other Kenner Preds. Even the bio (which I really like) saying he makes other Predators uneasy is right in line with the others. I'd be all over this guy in say, the Genocide red and black colors.
That being said, I do kinda wish Neca would keep the movie and "Kenner-verse" bios separate. I'm not offended by it, I just think they would mix better with the Predators from the comics. For example, I'd have an easy time believing the Clan Leader considered the Berserker Bad Blood a concern and specifically requested Enforcer to take him out. |

It's not like the Kenner preds were in any of the movies or comics to begin with. Have some fun and use your imagination for their back stories. Think of the NECA blurbs as examples of something you could do.

Agreed 100%.
I'm actually playing through the 2010 Aliens Vs. Predator game this guy is from on my PC right now (finished the Marine's campaign, currently playing as the "Dark" Predator), and I realized that I've haven't seen Alien Head anywhere yet. I looked him up on the AvP Wiki and it turns out that he's only in the game for a few seconds at the very end and that's it, so it's funny that he's actually getting a figure. But obviously (and correctly) NECA saw a flash of greatness and decided to go for it. Glad they did, as Alien Head looks way cooler than Dark does (he has a more stereotypical Predator design). |
