Nice that they do. People are still asking for them. Proves NECA listens to fans
I wish they'd make a battle-damaged Xeno Queen and ED-209 though...

great news! i regretted passing on ed-209 a few years back. iirc, it was delayed a couple of months and i didn't really have the funds to spare when it eventually got released. he (well, it) is going to make a sweet backdrop for the 80s themed section of my figure shelf.

I bought ED-209 when it came out. It's an outstanding figure. Detail is phenomenal. I'd buy it again if they did a battle damaged version.

According to artist Jason Edmiston (who's art was used for ED-209), the box for ED-209 will be different than the original release. That's pretty cool.

I picked up an ED-209 on clearance at an FYE for, like, $20 (find of the century). But if I hadn't stumbled across that great find I sure would have paid more, it's an astounding toy. Good for NECA for getting it back out there for fans.

Great news, I may have to pick these up now! Does anyone know if the Alien Queen and ED-209 will also be heading back to Toys R Us or just online?

Distinctly recall NECA claiming that ED-209 was a one shot deal; guess something changed? Anyway, cool to see it again but just hope the waist doesn't snap with the first swivel...

Enough fans have been clamoring for a re-release. Almost everything NECA does could be labelled "one shot" or limited as very few items are ever repacked or redistributed.

I understand what you're saying, but NECA had specifically made a point of ED-209 being a one off and very limited; which it wasn't. And as for repacked/redistributed NECA product... that has not been the case for some time now, maybe a couple of years ago though. |

The new 1/4 Scale TMNT Donnie was supposed to be a single production run. Demand was so high, they decided to do a second run of it. It happens.

No contention... NECA did say "limited release" and "one run" back in 2013/2014 - which obviously helped push sales.

I'm sure they didn't know how well it would go over so they just planned on the one run. Some of the bigger items they did ended up on clearance, like Freddy's furnace and the Blade Fighter, so obviously demand isn't always there.
Either way…if people want it, then NECA makes money and are able to continue making awesome figures. Everybody wins. Not everything they do is a guaranteed money maker, so I have no problem with them making an easy dollar if the demand is there. |

I wonder if they'll be keeping the electronic components to ED-209 to differentiate it from the original, or if they will keep it identical (outside of the box art, which is rumored to be different.)
Either way, this guy has been one of my favorite pieces in my collection for a long time...glad to see him getting some more love. I'm almost tempted to pick him up again just to keep this one in the box... |

Even better than a battle damaged ED-209 would be a bloodied Mr.Kinney splayed out on the display table as a pack-in accessory. Arguably, the most famous scene in the movie.
...and on that note, RIP Miguel Ferrer |
