This is why I keep saying I don't want the regular Predators to have ab joints, if it can't be hidden it never looks good.
The only figure I'd even consider getting from this line is original Rocky from the final fight. The original remains a great movie, personally I don't care for any of the sequels that much. There was some good and even great stuff spread throughout but overall meh. I liked Creed overall but I think much of that comes from it being so like the original.

Really hoping for Rocky IV Drago and Rocky. I missed out the first time and the secondary market prices are too rich for my blood.

I really hope that they re-release the Rocky figure which came with the flag, but this time without the "video game" paint apps!

Quick updates. These will come in window boxes, like Terminator: Genisys, DC Movie and Planet of the Apes figures. They have about 16 planned. 1st wave at Toy Fair. No Thunderlips as Hogan won't play ball.

They're only including Rocky 1 - 4. No Creed at all.

Geez, you'd figure the guy would like the money after his wife took everything. Maybe he's counting up that Gawker lawsuit money already haha.

Could be that he wants way too much for his likeness rights as well. When I talked to Randy about this last year, he said that every person they approach for likenesses wants major cash. In some cases they can bring them down to a reasonable price (Betsy Palmer for Pamela Voorhees), sometimes they can't (Peter Weller for Robocop, Carl Weathers for Predator).

Hell, if someone (especially NECA) wanted to make a figure of ME I'd be spread-eagled on a desk willing to do whatever they wanted to make it happen. But hey, I'm no Carl Weathers. BTW, is there a approximate "average" fee NECA pays for your typical actor's likeness? I'm just curious what the speed bump is for not getting some people on board. I understand that someone like Sigourney Weaver or Arnold Schwarzenegger might command a few bucks more than the norm (well, because they're fucking Ripley and The Terminator/Dutch/Matrix, respectively, so that's only right), but I was wondering what might otherwise be a dealbreaking amount of dough for a company like NECA over a given actor's likeness. *tsk* It's not like either of those dudes have much on their plates these days. You'd think the ego would have eased off by now.

Randy said that it's mainly the agents who set the astronomical prices. IF they can get a hold of the actor, they can usually explain the situation better. He used Betsy Palmer as an example when I was talking to him. Said her agent wanted more than they pay for Arnold and it wasn't until Randy met with her personally that they were able to get something done.

It seems to be the popular style now, since it's been adopted by DC Multiverse, Funko Legacy, McFarlane Redcap, etc...

Actually, the latest batch of Legacy has moved away from that box style. They're simply bubbles on cardbacks now.

But Arnold is the most expensive likeness they pay for.

All throughout the process the agent of Jeffrey Combs (the actor who played Herbert West, the character from the film they're making figures of) has been playing hardball, asking for X amount of money, insisting on a larger run of figures produced than originally pitched, and generally going back on almost every agreement they had numerous times. As far as I know this guy has had no direct contact with Combs himself, just the a-hole agent, and as a result of this dude's micromanaging bullshit, the figures (which are fully complete and ready for manufacture...I've seen the prototype, and it looks sweet) have been delayed multiple times and cost the owner of Amok Time a bundle of money. The poor guy is just a fan of the movie and is trying to get some figures out, as there's really not much demand for Re-Animator merchandise beyond a small, rabid cult following (among which I count myself). Hopefully this nonsense gets sorted out soon because it would suck to see the whole line eventually canned because of the greedy agent of an out-of-the-loop actor. I know they've said Jack Nicholson is crazy expensive especially because all NECA could really make is his Joker.

I'm hoping they make a new original Rocky figure, it is the first film's 40th anniversary after all.
