I love and respect NECA, but their house style isn't going to do justice to the acrobatic/contortionist nature of Spidey. The hips look like they'll be restricted from getting him into deep crouching or splits, for instance. I'd love to be proved wrong though.
That said, this is another gorgeous looking piece, and if I collected this scale I would have a hard time saying no to it. |

This looks awesome. Won't this be NECA's first Marvel product?

Shit, just noticed the double joints. NECA's first if I'm not mistaken. They have really come a long way from the early 2000's.

No, this is definitely not Neca's first Marvel release. Prior to this they have released quarter scale versions of Captain America, Iron-Man, Thor, Hulk, and Deadpool.
They also previously used double joints in many other lines, including but not limited to their Street Fighter figures. |

I just looked up about the quarter scale Cap. I remember him now, I had totally forgotten. I don't really follow NECA closely and I don't buy 1/4 figs. I don't know too many people with the NECA Avengers figs. I never heard about the Deadpool

I saw the Deadpool in person at TRU last month, it's pretty sweet except for the whole being too big for me part.

Yeah I feel you on that. If these were 12 inch, they would be more appealing. They look really good.

It is for that reason actually that I got the Hasbro 12 inch Deadpool. I liked what I saw with the NECA 1/4 scale DP but the price and size were too much for me to work with.

As cool as that is that NECA wants to get into the Marvel came, I find it rather pointless. Their product will never match up to the Figuart or Mafex, both of which will include far better accessories (hell, you can't be a wall). Also, Hasbro's figure will be far more durable than NECA's.

Not a totally fair comparison since NECA's Marvel stuff is 18" tall for what is typically around $100. The Japanese offerings are only under 6" tall but cost around $50 (not totally their fault I know with import costs, etc, etc). Of course I think Hasbro's figures should be more durable than any other company's offerings (for Marvel stuff that it is) since their base market is children that play with their products so everything they make, regardless of the intended audience, is made with playability in mind.

On a side note: SH and Mafex are not perfect. Look at that Heath Ledger Joker by SH next to the NECA one. Or any of the SH Alien and Predator figures, awful! |

1/4? What size is that? Sorry, I'm not familiar with the fraction size stuff. Just give me whole numbers.
Not talking about the other stuff. I couldn't care less who has the Ledger Joker because I don't care about a figure of that guy. Now NECA's Alien stuff does put the others to shame, but they are not without issue. The bendy wire tails are garbage. It's the fact that NECA does the human characters that makes their line the superior of the bunch though. After all, it's pointless to have Xenomorphs if you don't have the characters to go with them.

Besides Ledger Joker and Aliens, here's another comparison, TMNT. Those SH versions are around $80 a piece, that's retail price. NECA sold their Mirage and Arcade sets (all 4 turtles) for $100. Honestly, I'd take the Mirage NECA turtles over the SH toon ones. Not to knock the SH TMNT too hard (they're great figures) but the price difference is just silly. |

This makes me wish Neca's 1/4 Hulk would drop a little in price...even though its the yoga pants version and he has that weird paint issue around his eyes, I'd love to own him. And then i can justify owning this Spider-Man...I'm stuck in the past that way, still consider Spidey and Hulk to be the Marvel's main characters even those days are long gone.

Okay, then I have no interest in 18" figures.

Not sure, but the cost to import the figure are not included in that SRP anyway. $79.99 is the common retail price for specialty stores. Some places online are finally dropping the prices to $60-65, but only on ebay from what I've seen. Not all offer free shipping either.

Well I can buy the Figuarts versions right now if I wanted to without hassle. I can't go out and buy the NECA ones. I also can't easily obtain NECA's Shredder, Foot Soldiers, or April. In fact, last I checked, the Figuarts are much cheaper than the NECA stuff at this point. Last edited by evilekim; 05-01-2017 at 10:26 AM.. Reason: Grammar |

2. Why would I buy the Foot pack when I don't have the turtles or April to go with them?

Money. The prices to go down. For them to be available at TRU.
