Don't know how I feel about this. Aside from the fact the Genisys is probably going to be lousy, I just feel like NECA is a rip off after one too many broken T-1000 limbs. Seriously, what kind of cheap plastic do they use?!

I hear that. I pretty much avoid ordering any NECA stuff in the winter as I've learned from past experience that it all snaps out of the packaging. Much better results closer to summer.

It doesn't all snap, but with something thin/skeletal like the endoskeletons you do have to use high levels of caution. If it really worries you, apply heat with a hair dryer before removing figure from bubble.

not big on the up coming film either but
i might, i might pick up a few T-800 ENDOS depending on the final sculpt and price point not sure on the “grandpa T-800” tho as far as NECA’s quality issues go i can only speak from my experince yeah i would say years early on, there were some glaring issues but now the current level is much better than years past in my opinion lucky the stuff that i have gotten from NECA has held up very well for me i have 46 total of those 16-bit T-800 ENDOS 16, 2 packs 14, heavy gunners 4 of my 32 assault ENDOS and 1 of my 14 gunner ENDOS had the leg and upper body pistons snap but mainly due to my error then it being a quality issue now granted not everybody can troop build and easily replace theirs so its unfortunate that others have had their stuff break and i know the feeling but as a whole with all the high detail, paint apps, current level of articulation and price point around $20 its been more hits then misses from NECA and their shit keeps on getting better my opinion tho |

That head sculpt looks nothing like Schwarzenegger. It's like they didn't even try.

I can't tell, but I'm guessing that's a joke on the fact the sneak peak has no head yet. There needs to be a sarcasm font.

After T3 and Salvation, it's hard to get excited about a new Terminator movie. However, I'm cautiously optimistic about Genisys, largely because of the cast, so I'm also somewhat excited that NECA is doing a line of Genisys figures.
If this movie does end up bombing, I hope that the franchise is finally allowed to retire with what's left of its dignity intact. Frankly, if I want any new or supplemental Terminator material, I'll just read the Dark Horse comics, since they have recently proven that they can still manage to develop interesting Terminator stories. That being said, maybe we'll get some comic-based Terminator figures along with the Genysis ones. NECA has begun doing Dark Horse Predator figures, so here's hoping the Terminator franchise gets the same treatment.

Off topic, but regarding the Dark Horse comic, I wonder if NECA would give any thought to a figure of Dutch Schaefer's brother, NYC Detective Schaefer, for pairing with the new Dark Horse predator... Last edited by Skoob; 02-21-2015 at 08:29 PM.. |

I still wonder if we'll ever see Dutch's brother in a movie someday.

After I buy my $20 figure I shouldn't have to put a hair dryer on it, the plastic is ridiculous.

Then stop buying toys in cold weather, I've had Hasbro stuff break and that's supposed to be playable and durable for kids. I don't say this to be all "agree with me or leave!" I say this as serious advice. Cold and plastic aren't friends.

It's clearly not just the cold with the amount of breakage you see people talking about.

I get the feeling that's just the vocal minority. The amount of people I meet in person who have no problems with any NECA figures compared to those I hear with problems online seems to be more a thing of those people speaking out because they feel wronged. It's a truth for just about anything, the people who aren't pleased with whatever will be more outspoken. DCC gets a lot of breakage complaints online, but that can't be the experience of everybody otherwise DCC wouldn't be making anything anymore. If we're exclusively talking about endoskeletons breaking than that's just as much, if not more so, to blame on the endoskeleton design. They are frail skinny skeletal constructs, even in film they look flimsy by design. Shrinking it down and trying to keep as much accurate detail as possible leads to issues. I'm pretty sure the endoskeletons in the new film will have a new design, which may be less frail looking, so maybe the toys for those will be less bothersome. In a perfect world I'm sure no toys break ever for anybody, but we live on this one.

I agree that you shouldn't have to do any hair dryer tricks to enjoy your figures out of the box, no matter the season. I give NECA a lot of leeway though because I still give them a lot of praise for cramming great articulation, paint, and molding into a fairly low priced figure.
That said, winter 2013 I had 4 of 4 alien figures break on me and I stopped ordering NECA until Spring/Summer. This winter, the recolored Batman movie figure snapped at both the hip and shoulder out of the package. I do have a Freddy and 3 Predators coming at the moment. I'm definitely doing the dryer thing, as much as I hate to, but I hate running to the store for returns even more. |

They did at one point, but they haven't made any since, I believe, the first film. I don't think they have the license anymore.

Edit: @matt3223, just checked and Gamestop has all of the series available online if you want 'em. I was right they are from the second movie.

I thought they only did the second movie, it was apparently part of their deal with Legendary pictures and wasn't really something they were thrilled to make just like when they made feckin' Twilight figures, though I'm sure making Hunger Games figures was immeasurably better than sparkly vampires.
