Neca, as awesome as this is, I hate your business strategy. I can guarantee you that that Shredder box set will be going easily for two or three times its retail value within minutes of it being released on the secondary market, making it impossible to finally get the definitive Shredder that we've been waiting for for years. I really hope they plan on releasing this at some point in the future.

Wording has me worried though. Feel like these will be 100% at-show only.

SDCC exclusive noooooooooooooooooooooo,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I recall in an interview that NECA implied that they want to keep things SDCC only. But this is just to big for them to do that. Only time will tell but NECA is so fantastic that I believe it will get out beyond SDCC |

Exclusive is probably the only way they could make these work but still - this sucks!
I want them but I'm not dropping aftermarket prices + shipping + import fees on two exclusive boxsets. |

I've read about the 3rd party Shredder, but I haven't really seen much on it. The Krang is amazing looking. It will probably be cheaper too than getting your hands on these, although these are really keen.

These are great. Too bad they will be impossible for most people to get.

While I understand exclusives, I really test the idea of this one, especially when so many fans have been asking for it for years, and those same fans that have NECA afloat all these years are now being alienated in a way. |

It may not be their call at all. Licensing is super tricky in general, and Playmates has the general TMNT figure license. With these being in the 6" to 7" scale, I can't imagine they can even see a general release. Exclusive just may be the only way for them to even come out at this point.

These are incredible. I'd really like to see them release Turtles in Time variants with the alternate skin colors and whited-out eyes you could select in the options menu.

They do look really good, but I'm nit interested enough in the game decos do deal with the hassle of them being SDCC exclusives. If they won't, or can't, release these sets at retail after SDCC, than I hope they're able to use the sculpts for a retail line of figures.

While the reaction has been largely positive for the figure's themselves, there is a lot of backlash being thrown back at Neca by fans on Facebook and Twitter for making these SDCC exclusives. Hopefully this backlash can perhaps persuade Neca to re-release these at some point (NES colors perhaps?)

I will say at least they are releasing them all at once and you get a Shredder. The main problem I have had with the Turtles over the last few years is you get the 4 Turtles and no one else.
I wish they could have done this with Keaton Batman. |

It's incredibly frustrating that Playmates is dominating the standard scale, but has no understanding of the collector market. With DC, I can pick up DC Collectibles if I don't like Mattel's offerings. If I don't care for Hasbro, I can buy Marvel Select. Where is my option for a reasonably priced TMNT collectible figure?
The Playmates Classic Collection is a sad attempt at cornering that market, with repeated releases of the four Turtles and no supporting cast or villains, and priced about $5 higher than the quality suggests they should be. |
