The only thing I want to hear from NECA about right now is the Avengers 1/4 Hulk!

Gee, it's nice to see that NECA isn't letting the Resident Evil, Dead Space and Left 4 Dead licenses go to waste!
Oh, wait... |

They're pretty upfront about what does and doesn't sell for them. Can't fault them for not making toy for lines that get little to no sales.

The majority of their Resident Evil products were garbage. The beginnings of it, their RE4 figures, were mostly unarticulated and horribly sculpted. Their Anniversary figures were a pretty big leap in terms of sculpt, I'll give 'em that, and their character selection was unusually on-point. So I've got no problem with that particular line. RE5 once again proved that they rarely know which characters are in demand. Chris Redfield was a no-brainer and they even gave him superb articulation (to this day he's my favorite NECA figure) but Sheva really should have been saved for a second wave and replaced with Jill (good or evil) and the Executioner should have been replaced with Wesker. There's no way they wouldn't have made money if they had offered three of the most popular characters in the series in the first go. Their Operation: Raccoon City line was pretty much an abortion. They had the chance to run wild with their character selection here and offer Claire Redfield, RPD Leon (hell, re-release the old one!), RE3 Jill and Carlos, as well as other UBSC members... and instead we get Vector, a disposable character from the forgettable campaign. I am surprised that L4D sold so poorly, because those two zombies were awesome - but again, NECA decided not to release any of the main characters in the first wave. Characters that gamers are pretty attached to after so many hours of co-op with friends. Eh, but there's no point in ranting. I just hope some other company ends up with the RE license, at least. NECA seems to have given up and PAKs are too damn expensive. |

It probably didn't sell because of how much they mishandled most of it.

Agreed. They don't know what people really want. Plus quite a few of their licences suck in my opinion.

And yeah, Riddick, I played Out of the Shadows. You? It has a few hiccups here and there, but considering that it's a downloadable game and not a full AAA retail title I think it's great. Certainly seems better than the other one coming out in a couple of months looks to be. |
