Looks awesome. Can't wait for this guy. Would be awesome with metal pins but given the 7 inch one at SDCC has plastic ones i'm guessing they'll be plastic. At the very least i hope the plastic is sturdier than the original one as the thick warped pins on the original release are ugly. Hopefully this guy sells well and we get a NECA Hellraiser renaissance. So many Cenobites to choose from and so many that they never did the first time around. Would be awesome if they release the engineer at some point.

This looks really hood. I never owned any of the originals figures NECA made back in the day and this new Pinhead makes me glad I never did.
As an Ultimate figure though he better be priced between $20-$22 because an alternate head and two puzzle box accessories is really weak in the accessories depatment. Hopefully he comes with more than what this product description suggests. |

Interchangeable heads seems like a good idea, but it's gonna be impossible to pull one off or put one on without smushing the pins.

I hope they've thought far ahead enough for that. From the official picture showing everything it's noteworthy that the alternate head includes the neck down to a flat cut so maybe the collar does most of the work holding the heads in place, and maybe magnets or a smooth peg on the inside keep the head from sliding.

Yes. If you look at some pictures posted on the sdcc thread, he is on display without the soft goods skirt, so you can see his legs. Fully articulated as any ultimate.

The only thing I do NOT like about this ultimate is that the lower garment looks like it is made for prom... it should be dingy, flat black with tears and stains at the lower edge imo... the originals skirt look dead on perfect as far as that goes

Given NECA's track record and the complexity of the heads, I think it's safe to say that the quality control issues on this figure will be legendary...even in hell.

thrilled for this. While I have zero interest in hellraiser, I love figures that I have zero interest. Means one less figure release date slot for something I want, therefore I get to pace my buying better. It's artificial self-control. lol

The pins are still too big, so NECA should take this new Pinhead to a larger scale. The face looks elongated on the closed mouth head, but oddly the clenching teeth head isn't as bad. People are going to hate the pins on this one all over again. I'll stick with my Mezco 12" version.

Still trying to figure out how a head swap will work on him.

I would say loosen up the area with some heat, then I suspect you'll need to grab the head at the ears.

They probably couldn't. But it still looks off. The numerous pins and their overall thickness destroys any negative space. Just seems like a failure in translation from actual size to 1/12 scale.

Looks good. Would be hard to scale down the pins considering at 1:1 scale they're 3 to 5 mm thick max. I'd love to see a higher priced one with metal pins. Not only would it look better but the metal could get thinner without being too brittle. Even if they packaged him with a pinless head that would be awesome. Pin your own pinhead. I suppose you could try clipping off the plastic pins and replacing them with metal ones.

The figure looks fine to me. And you have to remember, even the Mezco Pinhead had thick pins. I don't think pins that are accurately scaled can be done on a 7" figure, period. Even with metal ones. There's a reason the Cartoon Pinhead literally has no pins at all, just bumps.

I do hope they get to finish the original 4. I don't want any beyond them though. |
