These 2 seem to be the most safe in terms of additions/alterations to their designs, with Scout so far has been the most drastic with the face being an entirely new* take. It's always been assumed he resembled either City or Jungle Hunter up until this point (which, if you don't care for toys he still does).
Can't wait to see what else they do with the remaining 5. Specifically Elder and Warrior. |

As someone who has had issues with NECA’s price hikes for years now I knew this day was coming. To help out things into perspective it wasn’t long ago when a Predator 2 pack cost you between $30-$40. The same 2 pack now will cost you $55-$65.
Their last Predator series (series 18) could cost you on average $70-$75 when they used to set you back $50-$60. Before the year is over I’d be surprised if the last Ultimate Lost Tribe members will be over $45-$50 a figure and if you think this price hike is exclusive to their Predator figure just wait until the Sarah/ John Connor 2-pack hits at $60+ or there non ultimate releases start creeping up to the $30-$35 mark. In some cases they already have. Essentially you’re getting one figure with a few more accessories for the Price of two and soon it will be for the price of three. That’s the metric I go by when I’m buying a figure and the price is getting of hand now. My fear is that it’s related to overall sales and no matter how good these figures look you will sell less of them at a higher price point. These new ultimates don’t include much more than the Ultimate City Hunter and that was $22-27 when that came out and was rereleased. With that said these figure look phenomenal and I can’t wait to add two of each member to my collection so I can display them in their classic looks and their upgraded looks. I’ll just try to forget that it will set me back about $600-$700 to do that. Last edited by AlanThCollector; 06-25-2020 at 05:40 AM.. |

So? Really? I need to explain this? There are almost 2,000 targets in the United States. Times that by what 10-20 of a neca release. There are almost 5,000 Walmart’s in the United States. Times that by the location that are or will be carrying neca items. Then add comic and specialty stores. Then add on the neca eBay and amazon stores, then all the e-tailers . That is a massive foot print and able to spread the cost out. Vs. mezco which is only available online and super7 which is made to order direct to the customer.
I should not have needed to explain this. My point was/is that I don't give a shit how many stores a given company is/isn't selling in; that doesn't change the value I'm getting for my dollar. I think a $30-$35 NECA Ultimate figure is a far better value than a Super7 5POA for $18. It's not even close. And Mezco's One:12 line is creeping up and up in price (it's averaging $100+ now), and I suspect they wouldn't be charging much less if they DID have a firm foothold in retail. Speaking of which, I have been encountering Super7 and Mezco stuff at malls lately (well, before COVID-19 closed them all, anyway), so they're both expanding into retail as well. Not really seeing their prices going down any, however. Last edited by Dolemite; 06-25-2020 at 07:52 AM.. |

Are you going to start reminiscing about how hot dogs were a nickel when you were a kid as well? Quote:

What kind of math is this? There are 9 Lost tribe Predators. Even at the highest estimated price point that at max $400 dollars, max.

Ok. I’ll leave this alone, I think we are all on the same side here. We all want more toys, better made, easier to find and at affordable prices.
In my opinion. The new neca predators are fantastic. The price they are at is a steal. I personally would pay up to $50 a piece for these ultimate versions. That said. Customers of neca are use to a certain price point and some may not be willing to buy them if they increase much more. Kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don’t kind of issue here. I like the idea of a budget line of cult classics or movie maniac style series. Then release these ultimate editions for the hardcore lovers of each property. |

He seems to be implying that he wants two full sets. Don't blame him i want two sets too. One to display masked and one to display unmasked.

Not sure what the fuss is about. You got $750 for toys, I'm sure you can scrape together an additional $50.

Am I correct that only 3 ultimate lost tribe predators have been solicited? We are waiting on the other 6?

But that said, $750 for 18 Ultimate figures doesn't seem all that crazy to me. If it's a hassle your kids can go a few days without food. |

Still no word on a Harrigan figure. He's go perfectly in a 2-pack with a battle-damaged City Hunter... |

Good thing they're staggered across what appears to be twelve months. Also worth noting that this series as indicated by Randy is "10 releases plus an exclusive." All 10 Predators are getting the ultimate treatment. https://twitter.com/NECA_TOYS/status...19117107683328 Subsequent tweets give the impression that the City Hunter may be an Ultimate battle damaged rather than a re-release of the already perfect Ultimate figure. It is of course possible that we get both ultimates but seems kind of silly. Then there's that exclusive figure which i'm betting is a Harrigan, Willie or Keyes and will be the SDCC 2020 drop. https://twitter.com/NECA_TOYS/status...56281013735429 |

I have no idea where you live, but I'm not seeing these massive and regular price hikes you're speaking of. I mean, prices increase here and there due to inflation, more expensive materials, the fact that we're in a wee little trade war with China, and all of that, but it's nothing out of the ordinary.
Uh, when are you talking about? The late 1990's? For a line of three figures to cost $50 after tax, they would have to be like $14.99 each. None of NECA's modern Predator figures have ever been that cheap. Are you going to start reminiscing about how hot dogs were a nickel when you were a kid as well? I highly doubt that. NECA would be kissing their sales goodbye if they increased the cost of their figures nearly 43 percent in under a year. I guess you’re right price increases are not the same as price hikes and I’d be lying if I wasn’t aware of unavoidable factors like inflation. I tend to get randy sometimes. But in all seriousness Neca Predator series 10-16 I got for between $16 to $18 from Toys R Us. When I finished the list tribe with series 6 I preordered the full series from Toywiz for $48.99. I guess I’m a bit salty because previous ultimate releases like the Emissary Predators were over $30 at retail and they only came with two alternate pairs of hands an extra head and a gun. These figures live up to the hype, but the price just hurts. I’m not saying that NECA is going to go belly up from the increase, but that extra $5 here or there can mean the difference of the extra figure or really anything else you wanted to buy. It adds up is what I’m saying and every dollar saved helps. But I guess fussing about it at this point is just pointless now. Last edited by AlanThCollector; 06-25-2020 at 08:43 AM.. |

On a side note, how much do you want to bet that NECA rereleases the 2015 SDCC Ambush Predator with a blacked out version of Stalkers new chest armor to better reflect the original figure? I was surprised they didn’t include it with the original release. |

Not that confident they will redo the kenner ones. Besides, there's still a few left. There are two more repaints of the Scavage predator as well as repaints of the Spiked Tail and the kenner Stalker (non glow variant). I'm hoping they do the night recon and possibly dive into the kenner figures that never left the prototype stage Air Attack, Scuba and Heavy Infantry. I dare so it's a while off tho as they first need to wrap up the P2 tribe, Wolf is on the cards and i imagine ultimate super predators aint too far off. Also! there was a repaint of the assassin and fugitive predators shown at toy fair.

Yes. Have it on good authority ( as a collector AND seller ) that upcoming ultimates are getting a price hike. oh well. Inflation happens?

These look great. I just really want them to put out a new 1/4 Ultimate Predator with removable mask or a masked and unmasked head.
