Hey everyone,
Currently I have been collecting Marvel Legends for a few years, but just recently started buying figuart figures (Specifically Captain America, Iron Man, and Antman). I was impressed with those figures so I have been thinking of selling a lot of my Marvel legends figures and starting over a new collection with figuarts. I wanted to reach out to people here to see what their experience was with different product companies. I was seriously considering figuarts, but then I saw some Marvel Figma actions figures that look pretty good, so now I am kinda stuck between choosing figma, figuarts, mezco, hot toys, or staying with Marvel Legends. The questions I had were: who has better quality between figma, figuart, or mezco? Do you believe that the quality between figma/figuart, Mezco and Marvel Legends justifies the vast price difference? (Parts of me want to say yes, but I only have these thee figures to compare so far) What is figma/ figuart licensing like? For example, it seems to me that Hasbro is more reliable when coming out with Marvel cinematic figures, versus figma/figuart which seems to take a long time or not at all. Any thoughts or advice would definitely help out making any decision. I try to watch action figure reviews on youtube to learn more, but sometimes I feel like I have more questions than answers and don't always feel like they are giving a good unbiased assessment |

I think my question would be is how interested are you in obscure characters? For me the great thing about the 6" Legends is the character selection, if I was just interested in, say the core Avengers only then would I consider higher end figures.

Unless you are only interested in characters surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I wouldn't give up collecting Legends, because for the most part, that is all Figma and Figure Arts has done up to this point, and if I am correct, this is all they are able to do thanks to certain languages in the license agreement. (There's also the upcoming Samurai inspired figures if that floats your boat.)
While many of the import figures are really nice, the scale and cost really don't make them all that much better than the Marvel Legends that are stateside, which has a wider selection of characters as well as a cost level that is often more than half of that of Figure Arts or Figma. They make up for it in the articulation department, but really, not much else. If you want good, honest and thorough reviews of Figure Arts figs, I'd recommend checking out the reviews on Anthony's Customs on youtube. Anthony is a big fan of import figures, and is not afraid to tell you how it is when it comes to them. Many of his gripes might sound like nitpicking, but the fact that he mentions them makes him a bit more legitimate in the review department when it comes to them, as opposed to other reviewers who are just like "whoa cool...import action figures!!!" and seem more interested in justifying their purchase or pleasing their sponsors as opposed to giving you an honest review of the product. |

Although imports are usually better quality if you stick with Marvel Legends you will have more character selection. So, like the above poster said I guess it depends on what kind of collection you want to have. If you do end up selling off your legends let me know I am not to far away Myrtle Beach SC.

Always a quantity over quality question. I go Marvel Legends because I like the comic versions and want the variety. Figma and Figurearts are more expensive and almost always movie figures, but much better quality. Hot Toys are just insanely expensive, though amazing and I totally wish I could buy them.
