Well I specifically asked Kernal because he lives in my general area. Thanks though.
No store in my area has even had shelf space for these for like a year except for a peg of green Yoshis back in November or something. That's why I'd like to know if he saw something that's not too far from me.

This thread has been sleepy for awhile. Despite not so amazing distribution this line is still kicking at most stores
Also new Mario Kart merchandise!

I have seen the entire line of those tape racers and they have me really curious. They come with a tape track and I assume they drive on it, but if everyone has straightaways then how do you make a track? Am I missing something?
I'm probably giving an 8 dollar toy too much thought, as it is probably just for imaginative play and actually does nothing, lol. Still pretty cool. I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but TRU raised the price of thier 4" line to $12.99 and the 2.5" line is now $6.99. When I started collecting WON I got the first 2 waves for $6.99 now they are nearly double that! Target seems to be carrying them again with the store reorganization, but I went ahead and pre-ordered the next wave. I can't wait! |

Yeah I've only bought 2.5 at TRU once. I was patient for the samus wave and finally found her and Tanooki Mario at Target. The tape racers are cool for the racers. Don't care for the tape too much. Found my Shy guy at Target.

walmart.com has most of the new 4" wave for sale at 9.99 each. Sadly you have to page thru a bunch of toy scalper items to find them since walmart is now going the way of amazon and letting people sell on their site.

Not sure if this really belongs here, but whatever.
So I've spent some time with my new Link and I really like him. The size does make it a little hard to switch out his hands though, especially since the peg joint is like the Figuarts rather than the one Link and Samus have. It also doesn't help that the left hands prefer to take the peg out with them instead of them leaving the peg. That is kind of annoying. I know he didn't have it in the game, but I do wish he came with a sheath so I could still have his sword with him when I'm using the other accessories. Speaking of the accessories, I love most of them. The hookshot is my favorite and bad ass. The bomb, jar, rupee, and little findus thingy is cool, but I'm not as thrilled with the tornado rod as I thought I would be. The spin effect is just a piece of laminated paper and it is hard to take the top off the rod to put it on. And then the handle also likes to constantly detach, especially when it is in Link's hand. His hand also can't go far enough above his head with it, so it looks like Link is about to chop his head off with it. Oh, and Ravio's bracelet gets annoying because it has a tendency to spin around his arm. I'm kind of tempted to just take it off. The paint job is absolutely superb and I don't see a single stroke outside of the lines or anything. This is easily one of the best painted figures I have ever seen. Overall, I can't wait to add the Twilight Princess duo to my Zeldaverse and I'm kind of tempted to get that Nendroid WW Link, but it would be nice if they would give us a version of Ganon to fight these Links.

Perfect place for those pics Dr. Kain! I really like some of the LOZ stuff coming out right now. Plus seeing a Hook shot in use is really cool. Sucks that his Tunic kind of hinders the shoulder articulation, but man that is a really cool figure.
On a side note, I find it kind of funny that the World of Nintendo figs came out at such a low price point so I was like "No need to pay 3 or 4 times more for the Figma versions" now fast forward a year or so and the World of Nintendo Mario, Luigi, and original Samus sell for more than their Figma counterparts....Weird considering how much more effort and quality are in the Figma one versus the WON figures. I'm currently only looking for 2.5" Metroids and the 2.5" Tingle. Plus I still haven't seen the Trophy or Prototype figures yet in my neck of the woods |

I have yet to find any Metroids, big or small, in any of my stores. I need to own at least 4 of the small ones.

I found the Walgreens Series 2 exclusive wave of the 2.5" figures. The figures say Series 1-2 on the front of the packaging and consist of the following figures:
Blue Yoshi Princess Peach Deku Link Boo 8-Bit Red Link 8-Bit White Link 8-Bit Mario 8-Bit Luigi 8-Bit Star Power Mario 8-Bit Classic Mario Here is the back of the package with pictures of the figures: Here is an image of the front of a 8-Bit Red Link (the series 1-2 is what first caught my attention): So if you missed out on these, it looks like Walgreens will be getting more stock of their exclusives. All I want are some small Metroids dammit. My TRU has everyone but the Metroid from that wave.

So I need to ask as I just got the Figuarts Mario and Luigi, how well do the World of Nintendo figures go with them? Are they compatible at all?

I don't own any of the figma figures, but I do have a couple accessory sets, and a friend has all the figures.
We were actually really surprised by how similar they were in size and scale. Even weirder is the fact that most of the sculpted lines and details are the exact same. The back of the figures are nearly identical. I would say the main difference is the quality, the WON figures are always going to look a bit cheaper than the Figma stuff other than the bullet bill(high gloss from Figma is really cheap looking in person). I prefer the soft/flat look of the Figma stuff versus the shiny/cheap looking plastic used on the WON stuff. Also I saw you were looking for the Accessory sets and Bowser now that you have dipped into the Figma stuff, but the WON Bowser is so awesome. I like the detail on the Figma one, but for some reason they lost the scale, He is tiny IMO. I was looking at him NIB and couldn't believe how small the package was. It was almost the same size of the Mario package, and the King of Koopas need to be large! I would say 100% compatible Last edited by K Dubious; 11-14-2016 at 07:09 AM.. |

I feel like I confuse figma/figuarts and Jakks Pacific/Jazwares all the time.

I saw the red Link today. The paint job was horrible. No Metroid or koopa tropa though.
I did pick up these guys though to go with my Figuarts: BTW, is that a flag pole in your display?

I made the flag from a green straw and a papercraft original Mario castle I found on the web.
One of the eyes on Peppy was a bit off, but not enough for me to pass it up. |

I really shouldn't have done this, but after 2 years of resisting let's a go:
Man, I feel like these guys are plastic crack because I need more. I need lots of Set A and maybe 1 more Set B while of course getting the others. I also think I'm going to have to buy at least 3 of D and E, but I'm going to see if they go on sale at all over the next month before doing so. The same goes for Fire Mario (who is for some reason $15 higher than regular Mario even though he is a repaint), Yoshi, and Bowser. I guess I gotta go hunt down the Jakks Peach and Toad though since it seems like Bandai won't be doing them, which is a shame. Thankfully they can go great with all of my other video game guys even if the main cast is never completed. However, I do feel there are a little big of negatives with them as Mario and Luigi don't feel as posseable as they should be. At least in their arms as their range of motion is really limited.
