I'll most likely be skipping this wave, but I still think that these figures look incredible.
The future of the Icons line looks to be quite promising !

These look great. Wish Cyborg was the updated costume but I'll live. Those accessory packs are awesome too, those Green Lantern ones are great.

I didn't realize that Darkseid was a two pack, that makes the price way way better

I despise that Darkseid. It's bad enough that he has a horrible re-design but the GIANT size makes it even worse. Darkseid was perfect the way he was before until they added all the armor and etc but the height is what killed it.
Really wish they skipped the DC52 garbage Darkseid and gave us classic Darkseid to go with Classic Superman they've giving us.

It's listed as an accesory, so it's removable. I kinda like it, but more as something to have in the background. Like he's working on an engine of some kind in his free time.

Feels weird to be in the realm of liking classic AND new 52 design, but I'm a sucker that kinda likes everything then? lol
That batgirl set looks REALLY nice! I also appreciate them listing the actual height instead of assuming the scale. I haven't dipped into the icons line yet since I'm kinda satisfied with my 7" display (also, i gotta prioritize other figures atm) but with things like the accessories packs and these upcoming figures, it's getting tempting. |

More mid-level toy lines need to do this. It's a great way to show support for photographers and the like.

Now that I am not at work, here are my thoughts on these:
Accessory Packs - SOLD!!!! I must own those. The laughing fish, Starro, Trick Arrows, Ch'p, Batmite, the Helmet displays, the in motion Flash hands, and the constructs are all amazing. The only thing missing from here is a figure stand or two. The Bat Grappel is the only thing I don't care about, but it is a neat idea. Wonder Woman - Meh, I'll get her since it could be a while before a superior WW figure comes along. Batgirl - Pretty much the same as WW. Not a fan of this childish look, but it should be better than what I have no from Mattel. Strange that they chose her before Dick though. Deathstroke - OMG YES!! Not only is he in his classic design, but his sculpt looks down right incredible. I've already tossed my Mattel one out of my Detolf. Cyborg - WTF is that ugly thing? Why does he have a car battery hooked up to him? Not fan of this at all. Hopefully the wires and battery are removable and don't ruin the look of his back. Nevertheless, this is one ugly figure. If I get it, it will be because it will do until a better one comes along. Darkseid (and whomever Grail is) - This is an easy pass. He looks fugly and is way too big. If I'm going to have an oversized Darkseid, I might as well just stick with the Mattel one since he at least looks like Darkseid. Why couldn't they give us a classic one first? No idea who Grail is and I really don't care. $100 is way overpriced for a New 52 design. I would have rather spent that kind of money on a Jack Kirby Orion vs Darkseid and Kalibak set. The best reveal of them all though... SWAMP THING!!! I love that he is in the design from his original run (well, technically second). I do think they need to add a little brown to him, but it is going to be so nice to get rid of that rubbery mistake Mattel did. I love that he includes Cranius even though Mattel already did him. In the end, I am excited for most of them, I just hope they don't really take 6 months to come out like the listings claim. That is just too long between waves.

Gonna have to get that Ch'p.... just don't wanna pay $28 for an accessory pack, especially for accessories I'll never use.

I used to be averse to getting a 12" figure but I get them as Hot Toys and stuff anyways, but I ended up getting Solomon Grundy from the Arkham series and he is awesome. I am sure Darkseid will be amazing. Grail is actually his daughter. The paint job and detail on Solomon Grundy is amazing. Totally worth the price. Get them all dude
Come to think about it, the Icons series is seriously lacking villains. I mean, these figures bring the figure count up to 23 and the only villains we have are Darkseid/Grail, Deathstroke, Joker, Harley, Atomica, Lex, and Black Adam. How about a Flash rogue or Sinestro already? On the other hand, my god, I never thought I would get Swamp Thing this quickly. I almost bought the $50 JL Dark figure a few week's back just to get rid of my Mattel one but decided not to. For heroes though, all DC has to do is suddenly reveal Classic Question, Spectre, Dr Fate, and Jonah Hex and I'll have nearly all of my top favorite heroes. EDIT: Completely forgot to talk about Grail. How did Darkseid have a kid being that huge? BTW, if anyone is planning to buy the Batmite accessory pack for the Fate helmet and you don't want the Staros, I'll buy them from you.

Would be cool to get some GL or Flash rogues out there, hell even if they loaded it up with Batman rogues I'd be happy as long as we don't end up with 4 different versions of the Joker and 3 of Harley. Also for everyone complaining that they don't scale well with Marvel Legends you guys should do some searches for images of them side by side (I know a bunch of people posted some to Reddit). The Icons series is really not that bad compared to the Legends. If you put no effort in and pose them straight up just standing side by side with hands at their hips it'll look a bit dumb but as soon as you do anything even remotely dynamic the difference is so minimal you can hardly notice it. |

It's not like any of the DC figures scale with Marvel Legends to a T. Mattel's line is too tall and DC's Icons line is slightly shorter. However, they're two different comic universes, so they don't have to be exactly the same. Marvel's also always drawn their characters more muscular than they should be while DC varies.

I love this line, these all look great but...I'm not sure I'll buy any of these, maybe Batgirl, the rest represent characters or versions of character I have little too interest in.
