At this point Todd's just trolling people super hard by making almost next to nothing but Batman in this DC-line of his.
Like, that Devastator looks great for only 20 bucks, but why do we get this one instead of the actual Doomsday? Seems weird. |

I'm a huge Batman fan and collect almost every bat related character but you are 100% correct. I thought this was supposed to be the DCUC replacement with a DC full characters but, at this point, it's just a Batman line.

I know folks have issues with it being Bat heavy, I get that.
That being said, I dig this. Metal was one of the best modern storylines and there haven't been 1/12ish figs for it. DCC was in time out and Mattel never rocked it. I'd like to have the whole line up of alt-bats at some point, and this gets things going. Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Robins are left. |

I was excited when I thought that was a Doomsday. But I think the Grim Knight has the best Batman face done by McFarlane.

i had my doubts when they took over this license but I think they are killing it. I am not even interested in most of the DC stuff but these have my attention. That Doomsday is awesome! Especially considering the price and we have NOBODY giving us a reasonable priced Doomsday. As far as it only being Batman I would say that is a stretch, we just got a few Superman figures and the line has just started. Give it a few waves at least before the complaints start.
I am getting that Doomsday. |

Technically not Doomsday - it's Devastator.
Alt Earth, Dark Universe, where Bruce Wayne took the Doomsday juice so he could stop Superman. Technically all these are Batman / Bruce Wayne from different Dark Earths. |

huh , they seem to have improved ! These look good despite myself not really paying attention to the Dark Knights Metal side of things... I would like to see the more classic stuff treated like this... I'll see how long this quality holds up, if so my wallet might be in trouble...

Aw, no flight stand or blasts for Dawnbreaker? I mean, c'mon, he's an evil Lantern, he should be able to hold a hovering stance OoP.

Most of these characters have only had 1 or 2 statues, if anything. I like crazy new stuff and monsters so these are fun. Green Lantern's face looks so twisted (in a good way).
Of course in a perfect world they'd be releasing the other DC characters at the same time as all the Batman stuff. |

I don't really care about these (the "Metal" storyline just left me feeling meh), but I have to say, they REALLY dropped the ball with Grim Knight. The Batman who's supposed to be armed to the teeth, and he only has two guns he can actually hold? With the rest either molded into his hip holsters, or molded as bundled backpack pieces that are only for aesthetic?

These are very well done. If anyone is wondering why W2 looks worlds better than Wave 1, I have a story: I was told by an incredibly reliable source close to Todd McFarlane (doubt me if you will but, I assure you I am telling the truth) that Todd actually tried to get out of the license. He tried to "give it back" during the revision process of W1. Apparently DC requested incredibly unreasonable revisions to their chosen line-up of characters. DC would request design revisions, be unhappy with the result, then request additional revisions to their revisions. This went on for months. The approved designs look nothing like McFarlane Toys' original concepts. There were a lot of hands thrown up in umbrage and many butts were hurt. The DC Multiverse project manager was reassigned after W1 and "newer blood" was brought in for W2. It's a crazy story but, If one considers it...makes total sense. It lines up with the clusterfuckery that we've come to expect from DC Multiverse figures and explains why W1 as a whole is...well...atrocious. |

I just really hope they give this much attention to Superman. I know he's the Spider-man and not the Ironman of the DC Universe but COME ON. They basically washed over his 80th with nothing really special ever released.
Anyway.... a Reign of the Supermen wave would be unbelievable!!!! Full Dan Jurgens style. Doomsday included of course. I'm sure ya'll have seen Shinigami's customs of the set. Supes needs his due investment. That's all I'm sayin.

[QUOTE=firmpulse;835114]Got it. But, how is Batman Wonder Women (being sincere. I don't understand that)? Was Bruce born a woman in that timeline? What about Thymiscira?
Actually, weirdly the only version of bruce from these characters that was female was The Drowned, the aquaman version. The WW version had him take on the armor and mantle of Ares, her enemy. |

Who is ready for Death Metal? Capullo and Snyder has wild ideas and they seem to pull them off. I also wish there was more variety. I like how Hasbro is now letting each Marvel character/group have their own waves of figures. I liked the Dark Knights Metal storyline. I wanna see the T-Rex Batman and the muscle car Batman.I'm happy with these also. The first Batman and Superman he did are peg warmers.

I know it costs more with the more pieces you cast for a figure, but if they were gonna go for this guy, make either some molded strap pieces that slip over the guns in a particular way, or just some of those 'loop-clip' bits like they use often for belts. Otherwise, they should've just gone for The Drowned. She'd at least add some visual interest among all this black-and-grey (aside from Batlantern, obvs)

I want that one Punisher Batman really to steal it's head and put it on the first Batman figure they release. That was a mediocre sculpt.
I don't think they are killing it. There are still articulation issues I think leave a lot to be desired and I'd like the see 6.5 inch figures. But really it's that articulation. It seems like the details have gotten better. Yeah the Bat focus is really starting to wear thin. They may look good but still Batman oriented figures. How about Flash/Green Lantern.....anyone else. I've love a proper go at Superman without that weak single jointed arm. |

Too bad these are 7” scale. I really wanted Dark Knight Metal figures but at 6” scale. These just don’t fit my collection.
