Don't know. Not even sure if it was officially announced or discussed at all. As neatogecko points out, the box was removed from the case during SDCC with no explanation (AFAIK). I don't even recall seeing an unboxed version of that set in any of the pics, so it could have just been a mock-up.

Looks to me like the Spiderman Animated wave 7 doc Ock.
Google Images Sad, this one shown sucks bigtime. Best bet remians the Showdown Doc Ock with Secret Wars tenticles with the Showdown manipulators on the ends of them. |

I need a Doc Ock and wasn't impressed with the two versions from the Spiderman line. I forgot about the Showdown version. I may have to try and find one now.

Yea its already confirmed that its either the animated Doc Ock or that slime Doc Ock from that toy line. That's why I didnt know why people were still saying good find without reading the entire thread.
I do recommend the MLS Doc Ock, someone buy Optimus Vader's one that he is selling.

You're absolutely right. There's been so much negativity from some people lately about the "quality" of threads and posts. It brings the whole mood down.

hey gang, sorry to ressurect this thread, but I felt it needed closure
I have found the Doc Ock ooze playset on ebay. didnt realize it was from the spectacular line. either way, here it is. kinda lame once you see it, but if you want a good custom ock, those arms might be great.

Good call. The main benefit to find good tentacles though is if they are bendable like the tentacles that come with the baf ml sentinel.

The arms appear static. This would be consistent with many cartoon lines in the Marvel Brand lately. I hope this ends up being an exception. I love me some bendable dock ock limbs.

I picked up that Doc Ock at a garage sale and in the process of transfering those tentacles to the spidey line one, of course once I figure out how to post pics here from photobucket hehe.

Oh BTW to answer if those tentacles are poseable/bendable they are not poseable but can be bended to a point since they are rubber but will revert back to its default position.

With the new spidey movie coming, we may see a new Doc Ock in it. It'd be nice at least considering how big of a role he's had in recent spider-man and ironman stories.
Plus, I'm just not really a fan of any of the doc ock designs released so far, but then again I'm probably one of the few that liked the female Doc Ock of the 90s. There's just been too much taking spidey villians of the past and making them bigger than they ever were for me in modern comics. I'd rather see all new people take up the mantles instead of this. That being said, I probably would buy a figure of the modern comics Doc Ock. |
