That's a neat grab, I've been looking for bluepants Strange.
Why can't I ever find anything at these discount shops? Bleh.

Went and constructed a new diorama. Only took an afternoon and a couple of dollars. Its supposed to be a warehouse setting. I know you cant see from the photo, but the windows have panes of clear acrylic sheets. I can remove them and add a broken window feature, as if someone burst through it. I am still debating whether or not I should paint the whole thing a flat gray. I also wanted you guys' input on what i should add.

that looks awesome, I'd probably paint the floor to contrast the walls, and maybe a railing on the catwalk. what did you make it out of?

PAINT!!! LOL.
Start of with a dark grey and then drybrush with multiple layers of a lighter grey working all the way up to almost white. This is how you get depth and realistic colors. That foam board paints so nicely you shouldn't have any issues. I would also just recommend getting a cheap bottle of Black and White paint because those are the only two colors you need for any array of grey you can think of/mix up. I know this is not a power ranger thread, but I wanted to show you an example. I personally always start with black and work my way lighter, but I am usually painting rocks and boulders and not warehouse buildings. |

Nice work bmorr. How did you attach the walls..and I love your catwalk braces all this time iv'e had issues figuring out how to make them, never clicked they are just triangles lol. You have to decide first what kind of warehouse it is...is it a abandoned warehouse, if so everything in it wont be neat so you can have pieces of wood and such laying around...think Netflix DD scene with the Russian.
Or is it in use.. then it would be more organized like you pick...from there it gives you a idea..like is the railing broke..is it complete etc..after some trial and error. the easiest way to make the rail..make it like a ladder..then..cut small slits into the flat walking part, slide one side of the vertical rail into the slits made. secure, so you only see the top long rail and the verticals. the other long horizontal one is underneath. if that made any sense lol. OHYEAH Where do yo grab your foam core from and about how much does it run ? Last edited by samsson37; 05-29-2015 at 01:37 PM.. |

IMO it would be way easier to hand paint. When using spray paint it is hard to get an even coat on all the nooks and cranies and you'd be surprised how quickly the paint goes down when using a brush. I typically just drop paint directly on the piece and move it around until I need more paint.
My two cents on the handrails are they are really difficult to pull off a clean look and symetry is key but it could be done. Are you using the foam baord with the paper removed or is the paper still there? Reguardless of what you decide, it looks great man. |

Great display Bmorr!
As for accessories, this goes perfectly in scale with our 3.75 stuff: Amazon.com: Bruder Toys Linde H30D fork Lift with Pallet: Toys & Games Amazon.com: Bruder Bworld Logistics Set with Man: Toys & Games As for me, I just finished to redo my display and wanted to share with you... unfortunately I don't have as much space as you have, as I'm just allowed to put my toys in my "man area" by the strongest cosmic being of the house: la wife! Anyway, the pics: The details: (Arctic Storm Shadow is supposed to be a loosy Fantomex) These big Hydra goons are actually holding each other as they have a very bad balance) When I watch these pics, I realize that a lot of them falled on the backgroud Also, I wanted to thank the Toyark community and all the Arkers who helped me build this collection through the BST thread. WIthout you, I couldn't have make it!!

Vision is coming along nicely, Spider-Man came today so his body is sorted. I've had to add sculpt over the spider symbols, and to smooth out his gauntlets and boots. I was never happy with the head so I've got a proper Vision head coming from Vort. Had to snip the hinge neck and just stick the head on the hingeless neck. It fits perfectly. I'll draw on the cape detail and that'll be done, give him a final paint and add the Vort head and voila - a more articulated, better proportioned Vision than Hasbro will ever give us Last edited by jedirulz123; 05-30-2015 at 06:16 AM.. |

Great pic Greg and Jedi! And Sammson is right, Capt. Brit is ready to impale Mysterio's little mysterio ha ha.
Bmorr I don't think you can go wrong with a gray warehouse, doubles as a warehouse and a base/hideout. As for rails you might want to check out some of those WWE cage rings from discount stores, lot of good fodder for your dio. I need to get something going to display my figures instead of inside acid free bags in a plastic bin. |
