I'm being lazy and just using my overall Christmas haul picture to share some quick thoughts on the Legends I got yesterday. PS4 Spidey is probably my favorite articulated Spider-Man in the line right now. Back when this costume was revealed for the game I wasn't sure how I felt about it but over time and thanks to the game itself I've come to appreciate this look quite a bit and the figure itself looks snazzy. I found the Spiderverse two pack just a couple of days after seeing the movie so I was compelled to pick it up. As two packs go I think this is one of Hasbro's laziest efforts since both figures are just repaints but the original figures were not easy to find in my area. I actually prefer Miles' spray-painted costume over his regular look and the figure captures the effect well. I already have the original Spider-Gwen so I'll just display one unmasked now. I'll echo the gripe that the unmasked heads would've been better if they resembled the movie versions. I got the Yellowjacket set when Amazon knocked 'em down to $26 pretty much just for Yellowjacket. Ant-Man is nice but Yellowjacket is the sole reason I actually bought it and he just looks great. There are some instances of little paint mishaps on mine and I think more could have been done to make the backpack feel more securely attached but his sculpt and paintwork are impressive. The shrunken versions are humorously still incapable of standing, it seems like Hasbro would have given them little army man footstands or something this time around but no.

Hope you all had a great Christmas.
Wishing you all the best for the new year. Now, I I feel I got the last figures for this year. It's been a crazy year, I had awful deaths, and some fun weddings. Including my own. Amazing trips to Japan and Croatia. And I just launched my own business. So, good and bad, as many years go. Nonetheless, I'm still on board on collecting figures, and my new husband is hundred per cent suportive. So, he has help me choose the best of the best of Marvel Legends, thou I did override whenever I wasn't in agreement. It's all subjective, right? And that's the fun of it. To see which ones will be made next, etc. We all have a favourite, and a short list (or massively long) on what we wish for. And it's all fair game. So, anyhow, this are my lists for 2018: BEST HERO: -The Thing -Mysterio -Taskmaster (Perez is my fab artist, and I love a classic ) -Doctor Octopus ( love the Toybiz one, but I never got him) -Cable (I hate the character, and hate the 90's Marvel, but this figure was perfection) -Cloak (I love b-listers, and my husband thought it was a great sculpt, then I showed him the translucent parts, and it was a winner). -Silver Surfer (it's just soooo shiny), and yes, I am of those few people I adore the Toybiz one, I love the Kirby face. - Sub-Mariner. ( I needed this version, even if I'm using the bearded head for him) -Black Knight (as an 80's kid I got this twice) -Mister Fantastic. ( the figure is not perfect. It could have done with more stretching bits, but I love the FF, it was my first comic. I just love then.) |

Gamestop Has all the M'BAku and Kingpin wave figures releasing on the 1st. I have both whole waves pre ordered so they should show up within a week or so after the new year. Also the LOBO Multiverse wave should be pretty soon. I have then pre ordered also at Gamestop.

I am a little byas about the BAF, so I won't be counting Okoye among then. We just got an extra figure, not a build a figure massive character, OK?
My favourites were: -Sauron ( was therever a doubt?) -Apocalypse. (Never liked him but the sculpt and paint are amazing) -Lizard ( this was my husbands choice, and I get it. The sculp etc, but his tail, and the whole dinosaur thing instead of a croc face.... I might still track down the MS) -Black Dwarf /Cull Obsidian ( too new a character for me to cared, but again, my husband told me to look and the sculp again, and it's massiveness. It's very cool, even if I feel nothing for the character). -Venom monster ( or whatever he's called. I despised Venom. J'ust an evil Spider-man for me. But, by Odin, this figure is impressive.)Looks awesome. |

It's quite easy to choose female villains.
There isn't just enough of them in Marvel Legends. I think this is rather boring, as I understand there isn't enough big name female villains in the Marvel Universe, and very often, if they are good they become heroines. Specially the X-men ones. Like Tessa, Selene, Emma Frost, Mystique and Callisto. There really isn't that many big-names villainesses. Lady Deathstike, Morgan Le Fey, Umar, Deathbird, etc, Even villainesses like Gypsy Moth or Danseb macabre, or White Rabbit are not used much at all. It makes you think. Anyway, we got three of them this year. Yaaay! And this is my top three: -Scream. ( another 90's weird villain I never cared about, but somehow this figure was very scary vey nimble, and may I say....quite sexy. She's my fab) -Proxima Midnight ( great detail....but it did not scream Carrie Coon, nor felt more than a stoic figure. Just not that interesting. Double joints in the elbows? Try using them) - Typhoid Mary. ( very pretty, very oriental. Just not my dirty-birdy Mary from a great DD run. Lovely figure. Not Typhoid. Not a legend). |

I picked up Ayo from MBaku wave at gamestop earlier today. It was the only one they had. I also got the Winter Soldier 2 pack from Target for $20.

I ran into the Dora Milaje figure today while out and about, and honestly, the more and more I see of this particular wave, the more and more it ticks me off. This is essentially Nakia with a different head, after watching reviews of the Civil War BP (which is a nearly identical re-release) and the Vibranium BP (which is essentially a re-release of the previous movie bP with some barely there line work,) it's like WTF.
They should have just added 3 extra heads to the first Nakia release, done the upcoming Killmonger and Klaue in a two pack and not have bothered with the Ross/Killmonger 2 pack and called it a day. The double dipping in this wave is seriously awful, and is a slap in the face to all who supported the first wave in it's entirety. It's actually got me to start re-evaluating just how I will be managing my Legends purchases just a bit more closely in the upcoming year, because the way Hasbro has been going about this over the last year has started to become ridiculous. |

Yeah, but.....it’s an army builder. Nakia is probably the biggest shelf warmer out of the MCU figures from the first wave, so it’s actually a pretty smart move the way they did it. For every one Dora Milaje that is sold to someone with the intention of building an army, two Nakias can be sold. I agree about the Panthers though.

I enjoy customs, andlegends were perfect, but the above has me close to quitting. Just tired of tiny figures. I find myself doing 1/6 customs lately and customs of larger scaled legends like the Sentinels. The bigger format just gives more enjoyment. I want figure that draw attention from the ladies, or friends..or business partners. Maybe ill collect more hot toys or kitbasH 1/6 figs.... Last edited by VashTS; 12-28-2018 at 09:56 PM.. |

Hate to sound like a mark, but I’m cool with the M’Baku wave. I believe I ordered the Civil War Giant-Man wave from BBTS, however, I’ve never once seen CW Black Panther in retail. It was my understanding he was a hard figure to find for a while. Perhaps there will be better distribution for this wave and others who missed out will get a chance to buy it. As far as the rest of the wave, before the billion dollar surprise I fully expected all these figures to be released in the first wave, but I thought our original Nakia should have included heads for other members of the Dora Milaje. I remember being disappointed we weren’t getting more variety there. Finally, I knew...knew they would release a kinetic energy Black Panther the moment I saw him use it in the second trailer, and I knew it would be released with the Infiny War brand. I’m okay with that duplicate, and can justify purchasing it because it is technically “different “, he uses it in a different film, and I display my figures by films released. I cannot, however justify 3 Star-Lords, 2 Thor’s, Battle damaged Iron Man and Cap, and Astral Doctor Strange. Bomber jacket and Binary Captain Marvel can also be included in that discussion. LOL
