I honestly don't understand the hard-on you all have for Firestar. Is it simply to complete the Spidey/Iceman/Firestar trio from that cartoon from 1981? That was 30 years ago. She hasn't been in any comic books for like 20 years and hasn't been in any movies either. She's a D-list character at best.
Ultimately though, we really do just like what we like. I'm not going to troll anyone for their likes, though I may troll the characters themselves. |

If we say yes will that bother you? Honestly some people just like what we like. I want her and justice to complete my Busiek era Avengers, though I know the outfit we would get is the classic Spider-Man and His Amazing friends outfit, not one she wore in Avengers. Given she's been in almost all corners of Marvel comics universe except cosmic (and maybe even that I'm not sure), she may not be anywhere near a top tier character but she's recognizable to most hardcore readers, though likely not casual readers.

I don't know if you've ever looked at Marvel Legends, but a solid chunk of the characters that make up any given wave could be described as d-list. That hasn't stopped Hasbro from making a bunch of them like Grey Gargoyle, the Serpent Squad, Tiger Shark and the like.

Proper scale movie Venom would need to be a BAF too since he was pretty damn big. In the scene after the motorcycle chase when he's holding that guy up you can see that if Venom were standing straight then that guy would only go up to around his abdominal area.

Sure, sure, a lot of people only know her from 'Amazing Friends', I'll give you that. It's where she got her start. But she's had a pretty noteworthy presence in comics since then. 1 - She was a member of the Hellions (the evil counterparts of the New Mutants) and was one of the only members (alongside Warpath and Emma Frost) to survive the various events that led to the deaths of her teammates. 2 - She was a founding member of the New Warriors, and remained a member of the team for a number of years. She also assisted Spider-Man during the Maximum Carnage event, her microwave powers playing a pivotal role. 3 - She served as a member of the post-Heroes Reborn-era Avengers alongside fellow former New Warrior Justice, and stayed with the team for some time before temporarily retiring from superheroics. 4 - She was explicitly shown to have retained her powers in the wake of M-Day. 5 - She was one of the main characters in the 'Marvel Divas' mini-series, during which she dealt with her powers causing her to develop cancer. 6 - She spent time as a member of the Young Allies and assisted the Secret Avengers in their fight with Onslaught. 7 - After the 'Schism' event, she took on a job at the Jean Grey School as a physics teacher, as well as serving as a member of the X-Men on multiple missions. And of course, that's not counting the numerous minor appearances she's had up into the present day. Is she a lower-tier character? You could argue that, sure. But plenty of characters from the B, C, and D-list have gotten figures before her, many without even half the exposure and history she has. Hell, White Rabbit now has a Legends figure, and she's definitely lesser-known to the general public. I'm not the level of Firestar fan like some of the folks on the boards here, but I think that it's really high time to get her on the pegs. The fact that her 'classic' costume is really simple and would only require a new head and very few paint apps just furthers the consternation as to why Hasbro hasn't gotten around to her yet. She's got a large fanbase, she's a very recognizable (I'd even say iconic, though that might be a stretch?) design, and she's a finishing figure for quite a few teams and collections. I do seem to recall that the brand team said their biggest hurdle was regarding where to place her (I could swear up and down they were asked at a convention a couple years back, but lord knows I can't find the video), since she has roots with Spider-Man, X-Men, and the Avengers, and I think her connection to X-Men was assumed to be part of it as well (the whole 'unofficial' embargo of X-Men characters that seemed to be the case for a while). But it's time to ask again, unless we get a surprise reveal at NYTF.

The main problem I'm going to have with getting Firestar is not having Justice to complete the Busiek era avengers. that's it...that's my main problem. I'll just have to start my campaign for Justice early. |

With Demo build a figure, last wave's Doppel, several Venoms and Carnages, I really wouldn't be surprised a "Sony Marvel" wave of comicbook Morbius (just to piss off movie fans like they did Venom), movie Venom, Shriek, Carrion, Firestar, BAF Riot, and maybe She-Venom/Anne, since it's been a while.
That would have ALL Maximum Carnage players available as toys. So we can of course take that with a grain salt, though Rektangular has a pretty good record. No insight on the character selection or breakdown, not even really sure who'd fall into a Morbius wave. Blade, Dracula, and some other assorted monsters I would guess. |

The standard Legends figure we've gotten twice now is pretty great for how big McFarlane drew him which fits since the first release had the head explicitly based on his art, but yeah they don't match how future artists bulked him up. As for the movie changing size, I guess being a mucus-slime monster lets him puff up on a whim like an inflatable muscle suit.

Regarding Firestar, this does ring a bell...

Well according to Rektangular's inside source, Morbius and Venom will both get their own dedicated waves for release.

She needs more than a modesty poncho for the original outfit. But a mutant X version or a Hellfire Maddie wouldn't be off the table. Maybe the Fallen from Mutant X? now THERE'S a monster. Or Bloodstorm! Do it Hasbro, give us a Jim Lee Storm in Black, GSXM/FA Storm, an AoA Storm and Bloodstorm all in one damn year!
And great...now I'm thinking of Mutant X figures...which I have not even thought to add any on my wishlist. Thanks Harbinger!

The bottom line is this "what's going to sell to keep this line alive" I'm sorry but some lame '90's nostalgia character isn't going to cut it. Have Firestar be a "chase" figure like Grey Hulk or that blue Deadpool. Would that be so bad?

Zarathos for a BAF? Dunno. Sorry, my Morbius knowledge is limited to a few Spiderman appearances.
