Happy Friday folks! Good hunting to everyone still looking for the Spidey figs; I've seen them at several Targets here in the Nor Cal Sacramento/Roseville area now, so distro is definitely picking up to retailers.

Any pics of that? It sounds like a great idea, as Spidey is pretty damn shiny out of the box (especially his red sections). It'd be cool to take the sheen on him down a few notches.

Edit: Need to hit a couple of more spots, but mostly got what I wanted out of it. Might be too flat for some, but I like it Last edited by GodParticle; 03-06-2015 at 04:10 PM.. |

That looks awesome... even despite the image quality I can see a big difference. Time to bust out my can of dullcote. =) Thanks for the pic!

Hi guys! Long time ML collector who just back into the fold properly. Love all the photos of people's customs and collections, and have myself just bought a nice pine display cabinet for the favourites.
Still playing with which figures to display, and am awaiting a custom dio and the Avengers Odin wave 'til it's at a more presentable stage, but thought it'd be a nice intro for me on the forums! |

Public Service Announcement: be careful when posing out your Spidey 2099 figures (this may also apply to regular Spidey, but I'm guessing the shiny plastic on 2099 is the culprit). The hips could be very brittle, and crack right off when you're manipulating them. The thigh cracked right off on my 2099 based Cyclops, and I could see the 2-piece hip coming apart at the seam. I was able to repair mine, but it is pretty alarming...

@ultraman zoffy
Based on the transverse view you've offered, the peg or column seems to be fused with the outer wall of the well into which it fits. I'm no custom maker, so take my observation with a grain of salt... Whatever the case, brittle plastic or poorly manufactured joints, I'll note your cautionary advice when posing up my Spidey 2099. Thanks for sharing and I'm sorry to see such a cool custom torn asunder. Paul Smith was one of my favorite artists as a kid. His work on the Angel/Callisto/Morlocks story ark (among many others) is an important part of the nostalgia I hold for the X-men circa the 1980's... Great illustrator! Great stories! Great custom! |

I'm wanting to try my hand at making a custom mysterio. I have a spiderman origins mysterio and was thinking of trying to combine the cape/neck scarf/boots/hands onto a machine man body and paint him a shade of green. Think that might work?

Thanks man! Psylocke's a pride and joy custom so I like to put her front and centre. I'm also a big fan of Rogue showing off a stolen power, so her bone claws really make her look that extra bit cooler.
