Well one Walmart checked out and no luck on BW.
I kind of like the lighter colors on Gambit, but not sure how I feel about Rogue.

Hmmm...between the lighter colors, the blush (which I didn't like on the first offering), copious use of lipstick (she have some botox work done??? lulz - I guess all the better to plant wet ones on villains while pilfering powers - another 'awkward/cringy' character vehicle ), and the (while accurate, nonetheless dated) big 90s hair...I'm just not sure where I stand on that Rogue. Gambit has never been very interesting to me, so the colors are pretty inconsequential.
I'll get them both, but it's more than a little surprising to me to think that my favorite Hasbro Rogue is turning out to be the one I thought to be the least likely candidate: the Rogue & Pyro two-pack figure, that I initially thought was somewhat fugly, has become a dark horse fave. But for fans that grew up on the toon - "Excelsior?" Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 10-24-2020 at 09:00 AM.. |

I'm sure FA & Outback Rogue/Destiny/Avalanche/etc are all coming. Hasbro's not abandoning the X-men anytime soon, if ever. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 10-24-2020 at 12:44 PM.. |

The Outback green and black Rogue, as many have mentioned, would also make me happy. That said, I definitely want a FA Rogue - green jumpsuit with hoodie - if only to finish that Brotherhood squad. My first experience with Rogue was, ironically, not in X-men, but in Rom 32, when Mystique's brotherhood got mixed up with the Dire-Wraith Hybrid (I'd also like that iteration of Destiny as well...in addition to Avalanche of the same squad). Shortly thereafter, Rogue made the conversion to hero and the issue when she joined the X-Men (and was clowned by Binary), actually cemented me as a fan of the team and started my consistent monthly collection of the book.
I'm sure FA & Outback Rogue/Destiny/Avalanche/etc are all coming. Hasbro's not abandoning the X-men anytime soon, if ever.

Of course since we're talking villains I have to bring up High Evolutionary again. He's fought the X-men, hell he's clashed with just about everyone, but somehow he's never gotten a toy in any line.

Now that I’ve customized mine, Hasbro is sure to release a violet Black Tom repaint in a set with an improved Banshee & the first-ever Siryn. You’re welcome!

Seems like the SHF thread died so I'll post this here.
Custom SHF Doctor Strange. Still working on the cape. More details in the Radicons thread I linked if you're interested! Let me know what you think! |

I'd love to see a High Evolutionary. And a Man Beast for that matter...

But for fans that grew up on the toon - "Excelsior?" I still think the Juggernaut wave Rogue looks fantastic, and has aged pretty well against modern female Legends. The one on the upcoming Target exclusive looks like she hasn't slept in days and is in a bit of pain from her latest round of botox injections. @BM: I'm also in agreement with the 2 Pack Rogue. It didn't do much for me when I first saw images of it, but in hand, the Rogue from the Pyro set really grew on me. I especially like the sneering face, which I am currently using on my Outback Rogue custom and is still number one on my X-Men legends wishlist.... I'll probably be picking up the new Rogue only because the original is on that horrid Moonstone body mold that's likely to fall apart the next time I try to pose her on my shelf. I'll likely keep her on the card (in a break in case of emergency scenario to be honest...) because I have some sentimental memories of hunting for the original Toybiz figure with my mother as a child, and feeling like I won the lottery when we finally found her (since female figures were so scarce in those days.)

Agreed on the value of emotive heads, they can transform "the blah" into "the blam!" I still believe Hasbro should offer expressive heads and fists for all of the 'almost nailed it' figures in a bonus accessories pack. I still need 'large' (not as big as Herc/Thor/Warpath, just a little smaller) fists for Namor, Cap (Onslaught wave - despite the greatness that is 80th, the older cap is still my favorite), and the Punisher (Walgreens Exclusive). |

I remember that stellar custom. It looks as good today as it did when you initially posted pics of it. Can you re-post pics of your Typhoid soft-mod. I'm likely buying another Punk Storm to swap out her combat boots...

I ask because Brickseek is saying all of the Walmarts I went to today all have 6 instock, which is clearly incorrect.

I think brick seek works better with wal mart for some reason. They may them in the back and not on the floor yet. Mine states the same about widow and venom cap.

I still need 'large' (not as big as Herc/Thor/Warpath, just a little smaller) fists for Namor, Cap (Onslaught wave - despite the greatness that is 80th, the older cap is still my favorite), and the Punisher (Walgreens Exclusive). Had to dig her up, but since you asked...here's Mary as I finally left her. I swapped out her original arms with those from a Walgreens Emma Frost (which give her jacket a more cropped look, and also have better articulation than Mary's original arms.) Hands are a mix from that Emma and a vintage Widow, and I ditched the oversized katana that came with her for the smaller katana that came with Blade. I had put the heels from Walgreens Emma on her for a while, but they made her hell to stand and pose. They also made her feel a bit too tall for my liking, so I went back to the boots from Punk Storm. I completely agree with your stance on accessory packs being much needed for Legends. All of the kitbashing that went into making my ideal Mary is proof of that. I've spent so much money on accessories, fodder figures and parts over the years, that I'm sure I would be able to skip a car payment for at least a month or two at this point. Hasbro should look into the business models that Mattel and McFarlane used to have with their Masters and Halo lines, or the current success of Jazwares Fortnite line if they need some inspiration to give it a shot. Some of those accessory packs (especially the Halo: Reach sets) go for ridiculous amounts of cash on the secondary market, and were impossible to find when they were released due to their popularity with collectors who wanted to outfit their Spartans however they choose. The Masters ones were ingenious, as they often featured headsculpts OR weapons that allowed you to complete looks of certain characters across different incarnations of the show like MotU 200X. Hasbro has tried to (and failed) to sell us many newer lines of the modular styled action figure, but I don't think that even they realize at times that they are already sitting on a line of (largely) modular figures just ripe for the customizing pitch they want to sell us. They already know there is a mad fever for Legends figures, all they need to do is capitalize. Can you imagine if Hasbro started doing Marvel Legend accessory blind bags? We'd be cursing and spitting at them the entire time, but we'd also be standing in the toy aisle at Target crunching tiny bags for hours wondering if we're getting some fisted or wall crawling hands this time like the plastic crack addicts we are. |
