Not sure if the mods will flip out on this, but I finally just finished my "experiment" and wanted to share my new recent development with my fellow Arkers. Obviously a few finishing touches to do (eyes, wash for the weblines, rub spots, etc), but I'm so stoked he's finally assembled and that this actually worked that I figured I'd post him...
Introducing my new custom PLASTI DIPPED Spider-Man, made from a Protector body and hand etched weblines. Stoked. =) Tutorial coming soon (hopefully). Before pic: |

Hi there, I'm new to the Toyark forums and almost exclusively collect ML. I know that Hasbro has decided to make future waves of Legends to correspond with movie releases, what waves can we expect after the Wolverine (Puck) wave in November? That is, other than Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America 2? Thanks for the input and I look forward to discussions on the line
SDCC 2013 - Hasbro's Captain America The Winter Soldier Figures - The Toyark - News I'm not sure who is going to be the BAF associated with these figures for Cap's second movie. As for Guardians of the Galaxy or even Thor, that I'm not too sure of.

SDCC 2013 had a bit of preview with some of the ML Movie Lines that are coming out. If I construed it correctly this is the ML BAF line coming out for Winter Soldier:

^With the Hit Monkey, Raccoon... and perhaps the Jubilee BAF(?) I would like to have a much larger BAF as well. Thanos for the Guardians of The Galaxy would seem logical.

I'm hoping the BAF in the Cap 2 wave is Falcon, and am really looking forward to Ultimate Green Goblin, fire effects and all

Falcon shouldn't be a BAF ! why ? is easier to get plus it's annoying when you could perhaps have some giant villain like the UGG , might be an armin zola movie edition ..

With the IM3 Legends having the Iron Monger and the Jubilee BAF wave coming I hope we are seeing a return to a normal BAF or a larger BAF like the Monger. I don't mind a whole lot with a small BAF since we have been getting large figures in the regular line, like Thor, and the Wrecking Crew and these are the size of a BAF any way. I saw they also plan to make Ultimate Green Goblin as a BAF , so I hope to see this trend continue. Remember when Hasbro started ML with Annhilis and Blob and even the Brood Queen (crappy as she may have been) I was fine with this. I know we will NEVER return to the days of the HUGE BAF like Fin Fang Foom, or the Sentinel from Toy Biz (by far my favorite, I have 8 of them currently ;-) ) I enjoy having characters like Hit Monkey and Rocket Raccoon and even Puck, but these are accessories not BAF's. I mean how hard would it be to make a line that has 6 of the X-babies as accessories???? Hell even make a 90's era Dazzler to go in the line or a 90's era Shatterstar figure to have a connecting thread. I mean Toy Biz had the X-babies planned with the Mojo Baf wave and it fell through, they even showed prototypes at one point.
Action Figure Insider- SDCC 2006! Pics from the X-babies from 2006 and even the AIM and Hellfire Club soldiers. And honestly, while I do love the huge BAFs like Sentinel and Apocalypse from Toybiz, I still take joy in the 'smaller' BAFs like Onslaught(my favorite Toybiz BAF so far), MODOK(finishing him) and as for Hasbro, Iron Monger and Terrax was a good size so I have no qualms with them(never really had the incentive for Blob and Anihilus), in fact I like Terrax a lot. Jubilee is an odd choice for a BAF in my opinion, especially if that is the 'last' wave that isn't movie related, however it is what it is. I do look forward to the future BAFs to an extent. I wish they would adhere to bigger sizes, but we'll get what we get and I'll either get them because they are 'worth it' in my eyes, or they are not. Only time will tell.

Don't get me wrong, an Arnim Zola movie version would be awesome, but I'd like a new Falcon lol

Is there a list of the variants that have actually been released versus the ones that MIGHT be released? I just started picking up this line, but some of the variants I've seen listed don't seem to have ever seen the light of day. Here's the list I've come up with, but I have no idea if it's accurate:
Released: Terrax - Ghost Rider (Red/Orange Flames) - Iron Man, Extremis (Blue deco) - Steve Rogers (Clear Shield) Arnim Zola - Daken (Unmasked) - Madame Hydra (not sure which is the 'variant' her or Madame Masque) - Piledriver (not sure which is the 'variant' him or Thunderball) - Spider-Man, Future Foundation (B&W deco) Rocket Raccoon - Punisher (variant w/ red skull) NOT Released?: Epic Heroes - Blade (variant to Punisher) - Danielle Moonstar (variant to Mystique) - Deadpool (regular red deco) - RELEASED IN UK - Dr. Doom, Future Foundation - RELEASED IN UK Hit Monkey - Archangel, X-Force - Iron Fist (variant to Protector 'Warriors of the Mind') - Lyra (variant to Red She-Hulk) - Sentry (variant to Hyperion) Rocket Raccoon - Bulldozer - Hawkeye, Heroic Age - Jean Gray, Age of Apocalypse - Jean Gray, White Phoenix Jubilee - Batroc The Leaper - Moonstone - Radioactive Man Wolverine (Previews Exclusive) - Cyclops, Astonishing - Cyclops, Phoenix Five - Rogue (variant to Emma Frost?) You're right. I moved him under the 'Rocket Raccoon' wave. The article listed him as a 'variant'. Not sure if they just meant a variant of the 'Epic Heroes' wave Punisher or if he'll be switched out with another character (hence variant?) of the Rocket Racoon wave.

the Red Punisher is out now.
I got an email from Hasbro about Dani which stated nothing except for how sorry they were for my disappointment. Oh Hasbro, thank you, and to think I almost owned all of my favourite figures at the 6 inch scale… on the bright side, Jean Grey hit retail here… and she was sold out before I could buy one MOC

Got Red Punisher yesterday but as far as the others from the first waves I think they said they were either cancelled or going to be but on hold until they figure out how they will get them out there. BTW Red DP and FF Doom were released overseas.

Also, so what you're saying is that my unreleased variant list from the 'Epic Heroes' & 'Hit Monkey' waves is accurate? I'm still not sure what's out and what isn't. I did update the list with your Red Punisher find though. Last edited by TheBigMachine; 08-15-2013 at 08:55 AM.. |
