I think the SDCC set will be classic Thunderbolts. Marvel has been pushing them a lot lately and this would be another step in the push. A movie is definitely coming.

It is possible they could do an Inhumans. Although if they do, I would rather they skip Black Bolt and Medusa (although it has been 2 years since the set with them) and release other less likely members such as the previously mentioned Maximus.
If they took a turn from a comic based set to a cinematic/tv set, filling out the Agents of Shield would be interesting although I am not sure how well it would sell. @DTL Some members have purchased small jewelry chains from hobby stores to use for their Ghost Rider figures and they seem to turn out very well. The gun hands on that figure was the major gripe from every reviewer. Perfect example of cheap reuse of parts from Hasbro. |

So out of one part boredom, one part curiuosity, and one part in need of cheap buck and fodder parts for a custom I am in the process of planning, I decided to take a chance on one of those KO Black Cat figures from China-Bay. Paid only 8 bucks for her with free shipping, and she arrived in about 2 weeks in a little plastic baggie surrounded by a generous amount of bubble wrap.
And here she is, out of the baggie, with some thoughts... While I didn't have my original Felicia out to do a side by side comparison, the differences are really minute and outside of the completely different skin tone, and the colors in the hair and fur, most of them are a bit difficult to spot. The articulation is the same, however the bootleg actually has better articulation in the hands and wrists. The most notable thing though is the plastic, which is completely different from the authentic version, and is of a much harder make. This makes the calf cuts a little difficult to turn, and the left leg snapped right off shortly after taking her out of the package. Thankfully, it was a clean breakage, due mostly to a lack of glue holding the thigh together, and wasn't unfixable, although this has left me wondering if I should get me another body (such as Wasp) before I finally start putting my project together. All in all, despite the break, it's not a bad bootleg, and if Felicia was still going for the high prices that she was initially, I would recommend it (although with a buyer beware warning of course.) Thankfully prices for Black Cat have dropped somewhat over the years, and unless you like KO figures, there's nothing really to see here. |

See I want a SDCC Masters of Evil set with Goliath (BAF size), Moonstone, Screaming Mimi, Fixer, and classic male Beetle.
Then I want a RETAIL line of Marvel Legends with a T-Bolt theme: Citizen V Songbird Techno Meteorite Mach IV and Atlas for the BAF. Maybe even toss in Dreadknight to round out the line. |

The MCU Giant Man wave hasn't even hit a lot of stores yet. It's way too early for the Spidey wave to start showing. Spidey might be the next wave, but I'm honestly wondering if we'll be getting the next Cap wave first (the one with MCU Wanda) to capitalize on Civil War hype.
Or maybe Hasbro will be a peach and release the X-Men wave next. There's always hope for that one

There's always hope for that one I doubt the Spider-Man wave will be next becuase NYTF didn't even show the whole wave IIRC - guessing we'll see the whole wave for that and Dr. Strange, with a Fall release date. At least with the X-Wave and the Captain America wave we know the full listing. |

if it ends up being Inhumans I'd really like a Maximus figure. I don't know much about the Inhumans but the main royal family, but isn't he kind of like the main antagonist of the Inhumans? Also Crystal of course...Karnak Gorgon and Triton too but I'd rather have Maximus and Crystal first...and aside from BB and Medusa that's all I really know about the Inumans. I know the new Ms. Marvel is one but I'm not sure on who else.
They've already done a Thunderbolts set already, even though it may not be a classic. My best guess something Civil War related...with the movie out and the comics doing CW2... |

I thought they just pushed it back? If they were smart they would roll out Inhumans next and kind of give it the GOTG treatment. I think all kinds of fans would love that. Most people just don't know about Inhumans. I just started reading it myself and really love it.

And I saw above, there was indeed a Thunderbolts SDCC set a few years ago. But it would be nice to have a classic Thunderbolts set. Like 90's first appearance stuff. |

Well I'm going to take the new Mutants set off the plate for now. I think IF we get it, it will be either next year or 2018, with most of the strongly hinted cast (Warlock, Cannonball, Moonstar, Magik, sunspot and Wolfbane)...five of the six. Dammit don't let Dani be the one to get the shaft again.
Alpha Flight to me has always been a hope but I don't see any real reason they would do it now more than any other time. So I'm going to throw my hat in wtih the classic Thunderbolt set since I hear that's getting a revival, though without songbird if I understand correctly? Maybe we'd still get a Songbird though, I would LOVE that. Or again the ANAD Marvel figures. |

Last year they jumped "a year ahead" when it came to the SDCC sets. Last year we got Dr. Strange even though his movie wasn't until this year. There's also some years where they don't really tie in at all (Thunderbolts). They also tend to be comic-based and only indirect tie-ins to the movies.
Next year's Marvel films are GotG 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Thor: Ragnarok. Unless they did some kind of "cosmic 2" set I don't see a movie tie-in for next year being likely, and with an X-Men wave and a Dr. Strange wave on the docket for later this year I don't see either of those getting a set this year. So it'll probably be a "random" wave. Completely Random/shot-in-the-dark guess: It'll be a "Shadowland/Daredevil" set with Daredevil (Shadowland), Typhoid Mary, Lady Bullseye, Bullseye (New Sculpt), Colleen Wing (to go with Misty Knight), and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Oversized figure...later repainted in a Spider-Man Legends wave). An indirect tie-in to the Daredevil Netflix series. Mostly guessing that just because I don't forsee them doing a "Daredevil Legends" series anytime soon and it'd be a good way to get out some DD-based characters. Maybe it'll be completely random theme wise, but be like a "most wanted" set. Like the characters have no real relation to each other, aside from the fact that they keep showing up on most wanted list/poll after list and poll. There's probably a good dozen characters that are nearly on every current list, they pick five out of that. Can you imagine how much and fast a set like that could go for?
I also doubt the "Most Wanted" thing simply because so many of the characters are FF or (particularly) X-Men based. Not quite the right thread but I find myself wondering if they might offer up SDCC versions of their upcoming 12" line or "super-accessories" line. For instance, maybe Cap's Shield with the blue-and-grey Winter Soldier paintjob or a "War Machine Helmet." Last edited by Jmacq1; 05-04-2016 at 12:31 PM.. |

I changed my prediction above, but while I see what you're saying and don't disagree, I think Marvel likes their semi-unified themes that they can toss into a nifty package.

Polaris and Enchantress...Green-Clad Females of Attraction!! I would need new pants if that ended up happening in a pack. And of course, i would HAVE to get that pack. There would be no way I could not.
