I had a thought about the single carded Dr. Strange Enchantress rumor. I think it's still real, and they will "reveal" it in advertising in a non-convention way, as soon as they sell out of their SDCC sets. After all didn't they say they had another MCU figure they held off on, so they're holding some back on that, and there is not another female in that wave revealed aside from Nico, unless the Ancient One rumor holds true. At any rate likely 2 more figures from that wave.
Kind of would be a crap move, but I can see their point too. Maybe I'm wrong. I would just like for everyone who does want an Enchantress to get one, msyelf included of course! I suppose I'm a bit touchy on the subject as Amora has been number one or tied (with movie Sif) on my want list for some time now; plus I miss the old days when SDCC exclusives were exclusive redecos instead of complete figures that are only available then. |

Definitely agree. I still post over there but they are a bunch of jerks over there. They get all worked up over a bunch of toys and fictional characters. It's not that serious. Everyone here is more friendly and laid back. Even when there are disagreements between posters it's still respectful.

wait they made the jim lee cyclops on the bucky cap body mold but retiring that mold ? why not have it retired before him , and the uk spider will be the new standard mold? so all the male characters on the bucky cap mode will need to be remade? that will take years to get the marvel now cyclops and havok on that mold, its bs that they keep changing the male scale but not the female ones (on a standard siz character), its starting to be like play arts kai or transformers , might have to stop collecting these if thats true.

That would be silly to retire the Bucky Cap mold. It's one of their best molds ever produced and works on a lot of characters like Cyclops, Havok, Hawkeye, a future Gambit, etc.

that new mold sucks i think it ruined the jim lee punisher imho , him and DD are the same build cept daredevil is one inch taller but the figure makes them look like superman and shazam in size, and his head is way too big which sucks cause as a stand alone figure he looks good but when u put him into your collection his scale is off.
and also if they were retiring the mold to a bigger one why didnt they make this new iron fist on the bucky cap? now he is just going to look more like a twig compared to basic figures. and this will be the 2nd iron fist that doesnt get justice in toy form. @Xjuza
Am I reading correctly that you are complaining about an increase in the variety of Legends bodies? Regardless of how much I might like a figure mold, I don't want to see it reproduced ad nauseum. That's how lines die. About Jim Lee: he's was a great artist, and I know many people are fans of his, but there were many artists before and after him that were equally as talented (if not more IMO)...there are large numbers of people that are more attached to these characters than Lee's (or any one artist's) representation of them. ...but hey, feel however you want to feel...I'll buy figs on the new mold (which I like) and you'll do as you see fit. |

^^This^^ Where's a like button when you need one. If you go and watch the panel, they basically say the Bucky Cap mold is wearing out, which things are prone to do or so science tells us. It's more cost effective to make a new mold than to retool/repair the old one

Kingpin would be sweet... I want a Netflix Kingpin TOOOOOOO....
wouldn't be mad at a nicely done Hydro-Man or Sandman which both could easily be made into .."larger" sized figures as opposed to their normal standing, non power using size. *SIDE NOTE* It's funny how you can see an image of a figure, or even see it on the peg and not car for it much, but in hand it be totally something else. This happen to me with Grim Reaper, Iron Fist (BM's fault),etc and most recently Hobgoblin of the new Spider-Man wave. I thought he looked OK..and would add him to my collection anyway..but after opening it and (am i allowed to say playing with it..ha) posing it and swapping the heads.. I REALLY LIKE THIS FIGURE....

Not sure but I really hate how (to my knowledge) we cannot save payment information on that site. I'm just like...I just want to click what I want and check out! Not 14 extra steps. It's gonna be hell enough as it is.
I don't know if this will help or not. But last year SDCC was over on July 12th and the set went up on Hasbrotoyshop on the 28th of july. So...it may be next week (with the 28th) or it may be two weeks after the con. Ugh. I'm hoping it's before the 9th I have to be out of town and away from home and the computer for two weeks. then use the one that sunfire is on not the uk spiderman and that being said why would they put the jim lee cyclops on the bucky cap mold knowing that they want to change the standard scale? so we have to buy 10 different figures of the same characters in the same costume over and over when they want to up the scale slightly? that jim lee punisher really is bad scale wise with the rest of the marvel legends but to each their own i guess.

my last straw is when someone insulted me because i questioned the diamond select rep who goes on there giving info out about the newest marvel selects. i merely asked why such a lack of comic characters and why too many movie related toys. i then had the entire fwoosh clan attack me...... needless to say i was vocal back with them and just bailed out. I believe one of the head mods on here is a member there as well. anyways i renamed their forum, most the members know how i refer to them.. i give you a hint what rhymes with fwoosh? d-o-u-c-h-e I honestly do not miss it there AT ALL Quote:

This. I've refrained from saying this in the past as to not ruffle people's feathers, but I'm sick of pedestal that many 90's artists like Lee and McFarlane have been placed upon. They are talented, and I give them due credit in terms of creating iconic looks and nuances of the characters we love today, but I also feel that because of this unabashed, almost fan boyish love of these said nuances, we overlook these artists flaws, as well as discredit the work of many of the artists who have come since, many of whom are every bit as good, and in some cases, better than their 90's predecessors.
same as the older guys prefer perez, zeck, romita Sr, buscema etc every gen has a set of favorite artists. im sure when these youngins here on the forum get to be in their 30s or later on they will think this current gen of artists are " the greats". |

@Veronica
Those panel sentiments make sense to me. Additionally, I'm not sure how 'retired' any one mold truly is. I won't know until BBTS fills my case order for the X-wave, but Juggs' arms bear a resemblance to the 2pk Hulk arms...but, again, I'll need them in hand before knowing for sure. They (Hasbro) can always mix and match as they see fit and I'm all for upgrades and improvements. Variety is the spice of life, right? Quote:
im not saying every figure but im saying figures like scarlett spider(kaine verison) and spider man, they screwed scarlet by giving him those ball joint hops and look how long its taking them to make it right he still isnt remade, and he was in a wave and a time where they had these current legs , same with iron fist (the white one)and with the uk mold taking over the bucky cap mold we will have a huge ass gambit or cannonball, why cause a few people keep asking for more? there is nothing wrong with the bucky cap mold, granted it shouldnt be used for every more character (which if u collect them you would know it isnt) but it should be used for the standard size characters, look at the females aside from the teen verisons all of them look the same what? slightly bigger breasts is the differance, but i dont hear much complaining about making females standard all she hulk size.
Above are examples of how well the 'new' hips 'can' work with some imagination and skill. However, as happy as I was with these postures, I'm not hitting the following poses without modification...or ball-jointed hips: My point isn't about which mold is better. I collect all of these figs, and have done so for a very long time. I like almost all of them as a result of my history with both Toy Biz and Hasbro. Why? Because I like my perspective to be as broad as my choices in Legends bodies/molds. You're not wrong for how you feel, but neither is anyone else who happens to like the things you don't. I encourage you to keep expressing freely your opinions and ideas, but I also hope you allow room for others to disagree...that's sort of what we do here. Welcome to the Ark. Ok...you don't know me, so I'll let the,"which if u collect them you would know..." comment slide. (you sure you were provoked on Fwoosh, without offering any provocation of your own?) Feel how you want to feel, but don't presume that your opinion is the only way to 'see' a situation. The Bucky-mold is nice, and works with a number of heroes, but it has many limitations. On the flip-side, aesthetically, you may dislike/hate ball-jointed hips, but they have their advantages. I'm not going to pedantically list out the different ways in which people approach this hobby, suffice to say, I'm all about dynamic posing of loose figures: Above are examples of how well the 'new' hips 'can' work with some imagination and skill. @Trivial
Obviously...I agree, man. I'm not taking anything away form Lee or McFarlane, but there have been other 'greats' in the past...and there will be more in the future. @Tim Thanks, dude! @Symbi Appreciate that man...but we're biased as Spidey fans! |
